seunny4lif: I will like to relocate to Senegal. Please, I need contacts of trusted people I can stay with pending the time I get myself familiarized with the environment. I am a graduate. I am self employed. And I am comfortable financially. So, I would absolutely be responsible for my feeding and everything needed in terms of finance. All I need is a place I can stay till I get my own rented apartment. Thanks. |

drehdinho: If you want to survive in Senegal, you have to learn French or Wolof. That is the very first step. If you do not speak conversational French, you will find it very hard. You will hardly find English speakers there. The only English I ever spoke there was at Blaise Diagne airport with the immigration guys. From then on, it was French all the way. I remember helping one Alhaji who lives in Abuja buy food at the airport. I had to translate for him because he knew not a word in French, and the girl serving food knew not a word in English. Buying food: French. Buying Orange credit, French. Entering taxis and going to places, French. Heading to Ngor Islands or Goree Island? French. Of course, heavens help you if you cannot count in French. You will be dashing your money to sellers once they decode your language deficiency. The only Nigerians I met in Senegal when I was there were young, brash Igbo guys with all their bling bling. While some are doing business, some are also into some shady stuff. So I really do not know where you will see the "trusted" guys you speak of. I think the first step is for you to focus on acquiring some language proficiency before you step out. Air Peace now has a direct flight from MMAI via Accra and Banjul. So good luck in your quest. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. 4 Likes |

agarawu23: Nice experience, I look forward to visiting more African countries just as you highlighted. Please as a Nigerian do you need VISA to cross the land boarders of Senegal, Guinea, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, Zimbabwe, Mozambique etc |

Many Nigerians are seeking greener pastures these days and with the issue of visa denials and inability of everyone to use an agent, maybe some african countries could offer solutions.I am a Nigerian but i grew up in the gambia Truth is there's no country in the whole of africa with so much wealth as Nigeria But money isnt everything In the gambia living standard is quite okay you dont have to be earning six figures to be comfortable , food is really cheap housing is similar to lagos u pay monthly house rent no yearly , depends on your agreement with your landlord Security is top notch far far better than d nonsense we have in Nigeria. Yes there r petty crimes but never heard or seen someone that was robbed n was injured in d process most thefts r probably pocket picking not at gun point. Omor employment the gambia isnt measurable to Nigeria. If you wana start a business you will make it long as u understand d market d currency dalasi has more value than naira. Easy to start a business but u must register it too best place to set up is serekunda its d most populated city in the gambia But truth is you have more chances of becoming wealthy in Nigeria compared to any other african country. NIGERIA get this pressure that drives u out of your comfort zone because your comfort zone is where your dream dies.. I love my little gambia the smiling coast. 3 Likes |
