What happened to buying more MRAPS with this money?
How the heck is a golf club supposed to help win this war? Oh! I forgot we have lean resources for the war but so much for frivolities.
And even when you buy the MRAPS and you do not take care of the social welfare aspect of soldier fighting for their mother land, those kind of soldiers wouldn't put in there total best.
Both aspects has to be balanced; both welfare and hardwares as to be balanced.

So these bastards came in this morning with spotters in our gear and vehicles. The unit stationed at the area flagged them down and they refused to stop and kept waking like a friendly force . The unit got ready for the worse thinking it was an "actual" friendly force being chased by those idiots Tilk they opened fire once they got close.

Fortunately, the good guys blew off them gasket which made their vehicles spoil and a radio call to nearby units. We were stationed where we are for a purpose. The person in charge needed a go-ahead order for us to move in as we're were about 17km away.

Little did they know that was an advance party shocked they came in large number and go-ahead was given for us to move in. The naval boys seems to be more excited grin while some where scared of an impending ambush as we moved in.

Luckily for us, some mopol guys working with the army around our route were on standby and we used their help to navigate through a safe route.

In short 26 bastards KIA. Zero military casualty

This here is good news, wish we could be having this as daily breakfast. Their mode of operation you described is same described by one fulanNasrallah on twitter, using own forces uniform, call signs and gear to penetrate outer defences. His description is somehow detailed and my question is, who is this guy? Just a journalist? Why I had to ask this question was him using "enemy" on the Nigerian army to describe some BH actions against the army.

The only mistake there in was killing yusuf alone, we would have killed Yusuf, Shekau, mamman nur and Barawi at once.
I dislike the arguement that the death of Yusuf started the boko haram insurgency, that's an illogical arguement, Al Qaeda isn't a stupid organization, they took their time to build their west African network which boko was part of the plan, OBJ said he knew about Yusuf as far back as 2004, yusuf merely championed the radicalization process to what end I ask? to pat Nigeria on the back?
Yusuf was trained in Somalia and Sudan, later foreign intels revealed so, what was he trained for and by who? to kiss Nigeria lovey dovey?
When last did you hear Shekau mention Yusuf? Yusuf's Son Al barnawi and Shekau are at daggers drawn in separate terror groups yet you still think this war is about Yusuf? Hell no!!

Boko haram's sister ALshabab is part of the AQIM network, did the Kenyans have to kill anyone before Al Shabab started bombing everyone? whether or not we killed Yusuf, boko haram must rise up, its a matter of time. we could have dismantled their network at that incipient stage, that's where we failed, how did we kill just yusuf and walked away? who did we leave Shekau for?
What intelligence did we have on the network before Yusuf was caught? what targets did we pick out incase yusuf's followers fought back? at what point did Shekau disappear and how? those are areas we failed not killing yusuf.

Most of you are now brooding over the metamorphosis of Shiites when we are supposed to have planted our men in their network being ahead of their every move, the same thing we did not do with IPOB, we sit and do nothing then live in fear of celestial reprisals.
Boko haram was a total intelligence failure has nothing to do with killing Yusuf, let's call a spade what it is please!

You the Bidexi guy. I like your patriotism and all but it seems you are hell bent on making excuses for Nigeria's lacadastical approach to the war..

One soldier are dying from easily avoidable deaths on a daily basis yet you talking about social welfare. It is more barbaric to send soldiers I'll equipped to the front with descripit shelter than to build the most magnificent hostel and sporting facilities and send soldiers to the front to dig trenches and wait for am attack because there are of enough MRAP or dedicated attack helicopters for the army to go on sustained patrol and no guarantee of air cover. Many do not come back alive to enjoy these social programmes.

We have an Air Chief that is acting more like a real estate agent and contractor than someone saddled with the responsibility of safeguarding the nation's airspace. They carry their politics to the front. It's classic...bid for senseless building project, millions of dollars are appropriated for the construction. Pocket %30. Look for next project. %99 of the initiatives undertaking by the Air Chief has to do with construction.

And you are talking about soldiers putting their best. The last thing on the mind of a soldier in the front armed with AK-47 rifles and Toyota Hillux trucks is a nice bed back home. He has to make It out alive first. We are in the longest war in the modern history of the world and our air chief is still consructing golf courses and sewing machine factories.

Nobody wants the war to come to a speedy end, cos that will mean an end to $1 billion for bullets. ONE BILLION DOLLARS. Millions of dollars for more housing projects, fish pond, gymnasium. Schools. All requiring millions in allocation.

God help us.

Its not the job of the Nigerian Air Force to create job employment guy. It's the Nigerian Air Force not the Nigerian Labour Congress. You guys keeo defending the guys profiteering from a war that's approaching the two decade mark. Are you in anyway benefiting or getting stipends? Becaise it's a no brainer. Soldiers are complaining about lack of close air support, the country is at war at the few airframes are stretched too thin. When last did you see a modern army digging trenches? Our troops should be on a constant offensive, not giving them room to rest. But they can't. No air cover, no MRAP. ..It's suicidal going into battle without these support system.

So when will it be used? What are they waiting for? ...And yes as officially stipulated the $1 billion is for munition and sundry. One billion is more than the defence budget of Chad and Cameroon COMBINED!! $1 BILLION will change the Nigerian Air Force. How can we spend $32 million for three JF-17 multi-role fighter yet appropriate $1 BILLION for bullets. It makes ZERO SENSE !!

ok bro lemme explain the money for the jf17 thunder jet is first more than the initial amount you mentioned (2) it doesn't only entail the aircraft alone but spares and weaponry most you are always referring it to the jet alone not thinking of the spare parts that will follow ground crew training and it's expensive weaponry Also the 1billion can't be only for bullets that's stupidity of the highest order it will cover few Armoured vehicles perhaps new armoured tanks, the NAF too will also be a beneficiary

MOD HANDS OVER NEW RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION TO NAF AS ANOTHER FALLEN HERO IS IMMORTALIZED IN ABUJA

In furtherance of its determination to meet the accommodation needs of personnel of the Armed Forces for effective and efficient service delivery, the Ministry of Defence (MOD), today, 31 July 2019, handed over a Block of 20 single bedroom flats for Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). The new building, which is located at the NAF Base, Bill Clinton Drive, Abuja, was named after late Sergeant Adeoti Idowu who paid the supreme price while on internal security operations in the Northeastern part of Nigeria on 30 November 2013.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Permanent Secretary MOD, Mrs Nuratu Batagarawa, who was the Guest of Honour at the event, stated that the accommodation facility was executed in realization of the Ministry's desire to ensure that personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), who continually devote their lives to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation, have befitting welfare packages. According to her, the MOD was determined to accord due attention to the well-being of troops and also continue to pursue welfare projects steadily, within the limit of available resources. She added that the MOD recognized its complementary role in enhancing the efforts of the AFN. Accordingly, the Ministry would continue to provide needed administrative and policy support for the AFN's operations geared towards the realization of the Administration's determination to restore and entrench security in every part of Nigeria. Mrs Batagarawa expressed her appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, for the cooperation extended to the Ministry by the NAF which aided the successful implementation of the project. She charged the beneficiaries to utilise the accommodation conscientiously and urged them to reciprocate the gesture by renewing their commitment to duty.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chief of Administration (COA) Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Kingsley Lar, noted that the newly completed building and other projects awaiting commissioning by the MOD would go a long way towards ameliorating accommodation difficulties in the NAF. He said it was remarkable that in the space of just 4 years the MOD had delivered an unprecedented number of completed projects for the NAF, which, he said, was a marked departure from what used to be the case. He also noted that this feat was a testament to the current Federal Government Administration’s commitment to the welfare of personnel and their families. The COA therefore expressed the appreciation of the Service to the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, for providing the necessary support and enabling environment that had facilitated the execution of numerous projects for the AFN, thereby enabling the accomplishment of several operational feats. The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of keys to the beneficiaries of the new accommodation.
