Good morning everyone here is my predicament.
I have two sponsors which is my grandfather and his elder brother (my uncle) we all bear the same surname.

8million naira covers my whole tuition fee for a year program including my one year living expenses and flight itinerary, here is the break down:
Tuition fee: $16,500
Living expenses $10,000
Flight: $2,000
Total: $28,500

I approximated everything to the sum of 8million naira you can correct me if I am wrong.
My sponsors are both both retired in their early 70s, they both live in UK and they have been the one sponsoring both me and my siblings education since our dad demise far back 2011 but no document to show for it because they either give us the money in cash or they send it to our account when they are in Nigeria, here is my questions:

1. Can they both use the same letter of sponsorship stating their reasons for sponsoring me and their both signature on it.

2. What documents should I request from them regarding where they work and other necessary documents ?

3. Since the sum of 4million is coming from each one them, should they send the whole money into my mums account which might become a lump sum, or they should send my living expenses into my account, pay part of my tuition fee and the remaining money Into my mums account ?

4. Regarding question number 3 getting both of them to send me statement of their account of 4months backward might be hard.

5. Would you advice me to apply for visa while serving (NYSC) or wait till I am been discharged and given my certificate. Based on reviews and people’s experience people get denied visa based on their current employment.

Gurus in the house I would be waiting for your guidance and advice. Thank you.

1. They should write separate letter of support stating how much they will be committing towards your studies.
2. Since they are both retired, they should show how they earn a living (be it pension or other investments they have)... This is very important because they need show that they are capable of sponsoring you beyond your first year(that is if your program is more than a year).
3. Lump sum won't be an issue as long as you and them explain the transaction in your LOE and letter of supports respectively. As for who to send it to, they should send the funds to your personal account (since you are above 18 years) or better still pay your tuition and transfer your living expenses only into your bank account. But as for the tuition fee, contact your intended school to know their refund policy just in case(before making any tuition payment).
4. Their SOA of account is important, because the vo needs to know if they have enough to take care of you and themselves as well. Also like I said above, they need to show their source of income so as to prove they can continue sponsoring you beyond the first year .
5. You don't have to wait till after NYSC, apply while still serving but make sure you let them know you are still serving and will leave after service. Include your NYSC ID card, posting letter (if you still have it), a letter of introduction from your PPA(if possible).

To make it easier, tell your bank to give you a print out from their system showing the transaction was completed from their own end.

If the transaction was completed like they said, then they should be able to generate a proof of payment/transaction receipt.

Attach the document from the bank and send to the Uni.

It's possible the amount left your account but didn't get into the school's account for whatever reason, with your print out from the bank then you can go to bed and give them time to reconcile the payment.

Pls everyone I require your help.
I paid my application fees for memorial University of Newfoundland using my masters card through the university website.
After 2 unsuccessful trials I noticed that the money had already been deducted from my account but I noticed that my payment didn't reflect on my profile and I also didn't receive a notification from the school stating that my payment was successful.
I went to my bank and was told that the payment went through.
It's almost a week and still nothing from the school
I'm also aware that memorial doesn't reply mails and will appreciate any suggestions from this forum on what to do.
Attached is a debit alert showing i made the payment.

Hi guys, been a silent reader here following all your advice, been a big source of encouragement & reference for me.
I got my approval yesterday.

First Application.
Applied online : June 22, 2019
Biometrics: June 26, 2019
Medical: July 17, 2019
Passed: July 20, 2019
Approval/Correspondence :August 1, 2019

Just want to say, I was really worried as all the documents I submitted for proof of financial ability were much and after managing to compress to 3.9MB, the documents didn't look to sharp, I thought that it would be an issue but I thank God, for favour. I will suggest if you are having same challenges as I did, you can use CamScanner on Android play store, I found out about it after submitting mine with poor resolutions.
Thanks.

Big congratulations

Uniqueness of My Profile
-Haven't worked for about 18 months. Only been doing volunteer academic manuscript writing and related research work.
-No money in my account because I hadnt earned in a while only been spending. But my parents and husband had to make lump sum transfers of 3m and 2m respectively, so I had 5m in my account which I explained in my SOP)
-Travelling with a toddler who's a US citizen ( I was initially confused about how to include her in my application)

Now My Story
I made the decision to go back to school last year September while on maternity break. Then I had only 6 weeks to the admission application deadline. I had not gotten a supervisor yet. So, night after night (because I'm nocturnal), I went through hundreds of profiles of potential supervisors until I came across an exceptional one whose interests aligned with mine. I dug deep into his profile and research history to learn more about him. Then, I wrote a well-written, succinct email to him. In my mind, if this man replies me within two weeks then I must apply. I sent the email at 8:30am (Canadian time) so that it will be one of the first emails he reads when he logs in. He replied in less than 2 hours that he would be happy to supervise me. Then the application process began.

My program required IELTS so I had to write it but that was done after the application deadline. I was lucky to get an extension for that. I submitted the application an hour to the deadline while caring for my sick child in the hospital. I was so stressed that period so I couldn't package the application well enough, as a result, I almost didn't want to submit. The program is competitve and I also needed funding. Then I remembered that my potential supervisor would be expecting my application, so I went ahead to submit it like that. It was the only school and program I applied to so that meant all my eggs were in one basket.

Having started 2019 with a serious challenge, I got the happiest news of the year in March that my application was successful. It took me about 2 months to gather the requisite supporting documents for my application. When I got confused about how to package my application, I resorted to this Nairaland platform which had helped me in the past. I met two amazing persons here who assisted me through it all. Shout out to the Jays - @justmellow and @juleskiki. These people were very instrumental to the success of my application. They were my support system throughout the 8weeks of silence from CIC. I'm sorry for all the rants guys. Massive gratitude to you. I owe you @juleskiki a lot in addition to a good pot of soup in Ontario, just name the soup and it will be done. @Justmellow, I no wan give you an open cheque before you go name the kind things wey dem dey use bury Benin monarchs. But any which way we go still settle.

In all, my application took 8 weeks during which there was no update until the day that marked the 8th week. It was a very trying period for me. Sometimes, I had doubts about it scaling through, however, I learnt a lesson of patience. Prayers, prayers, prayers, need I say more? I even embarked on a spiritual program (July 6th - 31st) not just for this but to get to know God more. At the end of it all, I have become a better person.

All glory to God, honour to my Mother Mary!

To the bolded, it cracked me opened. Oya begin pack and go, your time in Naija is up. Enjoy maple land.

Big congratulations!!

The breakdown of your expenses is good. If there is no proof to show that your uncles have been supporting you financially in your academic sponsorship and wellbeing, don't be bothered too much, just get them to pay for your 1st semester or year tuition fees and your living expenses deposited into your account. This commitment shows a lot.

Your mum can write a "letter of intent" or swear an "affidavit of facts" that your uncle has been financially supportive to you and your siblings (educationally and wellbeing).

To your questions:

1. It will be better for one of them to be the principal sponsor and the other a cosponsor, meaning that one of the letter will be a *letter of sponsorship* and the other a *letter of cosponsorship*. Its better to use separate letters for clarity.

2. Their valid residence documents, pension account statement (if applicable), bank statement, property documents, source of funds documents, ID, travel stamp page, birth certificate etc

3. Its better for them to send your living expenses into your account and then pay for your 1st semester or year fees. There will be no need involving your mum since she won't be sponsoring. The lump sum can be addressed with your SOP and in your sponsors LOS stating the details of the transfers (bank, acct name of you and your sponsor, date, purpose etc).

4. Proof of funds is an important document, so you have to get a way to get them to send you an e-statement or send it directly to the embassy if they don't want you to know how much they worth.

5. It depends on the duration left to the completion of your NYSC, though it won't cause harm of maybe you have within 1-2 months or less to your POP. If you still have more than this duration to go, its advisable to wait. In terms of employment, you can get letters and other documents from the place of PPA to show as your employment endeavours

I do hope you figure out.

Good luck!

The most suitable program for you is a PDG/C which normally does not come with funding. Prior to the completion of program, then you can be eligible to pursue a Masters program. Most Canadian universities doesn't accept a HND to direct Masters.

You can check out University of Manitoba, University of Saskatchenwan, Memorial University, Simon Fraser University etc

Good luck!

Outside waiting and sending emails with receiving generic responses, you can request for your gcms notes to know whats wrong or what stage your application is. April is a long time.

Hi, newbie here.
I applied for and got admission to the university of guelph. M.Eng I got my offer of admission and all but some agency guy keeps telling me I need a letter of acceptance before study permit application? I emailed the school they only said I may need the offer of admission for study permit application.
My questions are

Is there a difference between offer of admission and letter of acceptance?

I got government scholarship do I need to present any other proof of funding apart from the letter of scholarship given to me?

Is there a difference between study permit and trv?

Well as for me, to your first question, there's no much difference except that a letter of acceptance is usually when you've paid the acceptance fee that's if the school requires you to pay that.

What's the amount of the government scholarship you got? After paying your tuition fee, will there still be extra $10k for your living expenses?

There's no much difference between a student permit and a TRV, it's virtually the same because after you're issued a student permit, it still means you're still living temporary in Canada.

Please, you can go ahead with your application with the offer of admission letter.

Thank you very much. As for the scholarship the amount was not specified but I was told it covers everything including cost of living and accommodation. Is the amount really necessary ?
