I don't agree with you on Rapinoe, i think she's above average although I feel Alex is way better. Green is a winger for the UK team, she had the most touches in against Sweden and US respectively during the world cup. When you watch Europeans and Americans play, it's easy to lose hope in our team. A lot has to be done before the olympics if we are to win any medals, even their psychology isn't up to per. We need quick thinkers and players that aren't intimidated by fair skin. The Falcons I watched during the world cup are not the same team I see against African opponents.

During the last WC, most of our players dwelt too long on the ball, trying to figure out the next move. That allowed our opponents to easily dispossess the player in possession, and/or cut out passes with ease.

I appreciate Dennerby's counter-attacking philosophy; it can be useful when playing against teams that love to possess the ball a lot and teams with relatively slow defenders. The problem he had is that the players were, 60% of the time, clueless about how to mount effective attacks on the opponents' goal.

I repeat, Megan Rapinoe, is an average soccer player. There is a reason Crystal Dunn is stock at the left back behind Megan Rapinoe. You were correct when you touched on psychology. Insert Megan Rapinoe in any team from African country baring, maybe, RSA, she could be below average. Christen Press is more enterprising as a winger than Rapinoe. I do not know if the continent of Africa has thinkers.

When I said "playing out from the back", I didn't mean that the defender should be joggling with the ball inside her box. What I mean is that the defender should have the composure to pass the ball to a midfielder (or fellow defender) when one opposition player is charging towards her, and when she isn't under any sort of immediate pressure from the opposition.
But in instances where two (or more) opposing forwards are trying to close her down, she can then balloon the ball away or hit a long ball to our forwards.

You need to watch Megan Rapinoe from 2011 till date, she started off as an attacking midfielder, she was never a striker. Her duties then was to distribute the balls to the Forwards.

The Republic of Congo have pulled out of hosting next year's AWCON due to lack of financial capacity!

If Nigeria were to step in to host, I think Uyo, Port Harcourt and Lagos (either Agege stadium or TBS) could host the matches.

Pensacola FC finally hit pay dirt in its third straight appearance in the Women’s Professional Soccer League championship game.

Mollie Rouse set up Briana Morris’s game-winning goal in the 118th minute to lift Pensacola FC Women to a 4-3 win over Utah Royals FC in extra time on Sunday in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The goal lifted PFC to its first WPSL title since its first championship in 2012.

Nigeria international Uchenna Kanu earned Most Outstanding Player for her tournament efforts. Kanu finished with two goals on the weekend.

PFC (12-0) fell short in its last two championship game appearances, but avenged its 2018 loss in this year’s semifinal with a 3-2 win over Seattle Sounders Women on Friday.

The team’s leading goalscorer entering the championships, Morris scored twice for PFC on Sunday, tying the game with her first off a corner kick in the 48th minute after Utah entered the second half with a 1-0 advantage.

Set pieces paid more dividends for PFC in the second half as Brazilian Ana Paula Silva Santos answered Utah’s second goal in the 60th minute with an inch-perfect free kick from the top of the box.

Kanu gave PFC its first lead of the afternoon just a few minutes later as Kanu nodded in a Santos corner kick.

PFC held its lead into the game’s dying moments but conceded in the 89th minute to push the 3-3 game into extra time.

Utah Royals controlled possession for much of extra time, but PFC didn’t crack.

That allowed Kanu to break down the left wing on a counter attack in the 117th minute and pushed into the box before finding Rouse at the opposite post. Rouse fainted at a shot before squaring across to Morris, who deftly finished her third goal of the weekend to secure the title.

PFC's first title came in 2012 with a 4-0 win over Boston Azters. That title came just a year after PFC played its inaugural season.

Here in lies my answer. AWCON of twelve teams is fine. There is a Quarter finals stage meaning Africa's fifth team (if 5 slots is allowed) would come from the best Quarterfinalist.

Either the fifth African team would be decided by a mini-playoff amongst the 4 quarterfinal losers, or CAF would just pick the best of the quarterfinal losers.

But, realistically, I don’t see FIFA allocating more than four slots to Africa. After all, African teams have only advanced to the knockout rounds of the WWC on three occasions - Nigeria in 99, Cameroon in 2015, and both Nigeria and Cameroon in 2019.
The best chance of having 5 African teams at the 2023 World Cup rests on whether South Africa will be awarded the hosting rights.
