Good evening house.

I submitted my online visa application last week and did my biometrics on Monday 29th July using SPV service but yet to receive response from UKVI. The status on TLS portal is application received by DMC since Monday evening.

My major reason for using the SPV service was to give me time for the disengagement process at my office but at this rate I don't how to meet up.

Though, I have visited the UK twice (once in 2016 and second time, early this year) on visit visa for about 2weeks each; I really didn't expect that the SPV will linger beyond 48hours. My second visit visa (standard application) was obtained in 8 days (including weekends)

I had a US visit refusal in 2017 but still obtained a UK visit visa last year 2018 and I mentioned the refusal in this application.

I don't know if there are people experiencing similar delay or do you suggest I call the help line to confirm status?

Kindly advise.

Thanks Zoey1.

I got my visa yesterday. I called the helpline of UKVI in the morning around 9am and around 12:30pm got the mail for collection.

More good news on this platform by God's grace.

Thank you everyone.

Good evening Justwise and others please what’s the best answer to what will you do with your degree after you graduate is it best to say you’ll establish ur own or must you always have somewhere you want to work

LaaJiblik:

The BEST answer is:
Answer truthfully.
Before the interview, ask yourself by yourself:
WHY EXACTLY DO I WANT TO SPEND TENS OF MILLIONS OF NAIRA IN THE FOR?

Alternatively, post your proposed answer here, and Nairalanders could help you ‘polish’ it.

Maybe you expect him to say he'll make sure he get employer that will sponsor his tier 2.

Guys, it seems regular application is now 5 working days. I applied last week Friday using the regular option and happy to say I picked up my passport today with the 1 month visa and to pick the BRP on my safe arrival in the UK. I also know a couple of people that has picked theirs in a week after biometrics. So guys you might want to give the regular a try before paying so much for the priority.

Please allow your son to do this research and learn, he will be attending the interview not you.

The last question you asked has nothing to do with student visa.

If your proposed ‘short study’ is less than 6 months, it’s fine.
I got exactly such a visa in 2015 when I applied to attend a course.
I got exactly the same in 2016 to attend a 4-month training.
So...I think you are good to go.

Thank you! I was really worried. Yes my course is less than 6 months.

Good day everyone, please i need clarity on the following:

1. As a 40 year old, can one's parent stiil be ones sponsor ? Although the required funds have been moved into the beneficiary's account, the intention is to start the 28 days count from 2nd day after the money was lodged so it doesnt reflect , just to avoid any issues about huge sums lodged into the account.

2. Would getting a letter from an organization one volunteered for 2 years add credibilty to ones claim of having worked in that organization?

3. Having been refused an Irish visa in the past about 5years back due to some negligence- the reasons for refusal were numerous at the time- reasons like gaps in education or employment not accounted for. would it be advisable to go for a priority visa given the time frame available from the period of application for visa and resumption is barely 2 weeks? I read here that it is better one goes for the standard type if there has been a case of refusal in the past. NB: the refusal was not due to any forged documents as there was an appeal that was eventually lost.

Inputs are appreciated , thank you all.

1. Moving the money into his account is a good idea, i don't think the UK discriminate against age though.

2. You can use priority service even with the refusal but the refusal has to be declared

Be prepared to answer questions about the gap between your BSc and waiting until you 40 to go for your MSc. Please, there is no age discrimination in the UK so don't panic just prepare.

GURUS IN THE HOUSE PLEASE HELP ME LEMME KNOW MY FATE, IM TIRED.

Question; can my biological mother sponsor me with account that is joint with my step father?

Story

Loss my dad years ago, mum moved to the state, got married and changed name, now a green card holder.
Step father cannot understand why he can't sponsor since he is willing. I told him to move funds to my mom sole account but it's a no no for him despite pleas. My account is not working is not even an option. Step dad has serious trust issues. I am not officially adopted.

So now they have resolved to use a joint account and the funds have been lodged.

Back to my question, can my mom sponsor me with that joint account?

Or can both of them write the letter of support?

Please kindly help me dissect it honestly, lemme know where I stand. Tired mentally already
