You still dont get it. We are in a democracy. People should be allowed to say whatever they like. What matters is what people do. You cannot charge a person to court for 'talking'. If Sowore likes, he can protest that he wants Buhari to step down. If Sowore likes , he can protest that he wants Snow to fall in Lagos. The constitution has given him the right to protest for whatever reason. The constitution has also given him the right of free speech as long as what he says is not being used to commit crime. If the authorities have any evidence that Sowore wants to use the protest to fo something unlawful, then they should arrest and charge him to court

But if the authorities arrested him because he mentioned the word 'revolution' or that he said he wants 'bundle Buhari out of office' then this arresting a man for merely talking.

If governments start going after people for what they said, as opposed to what they do, then it is no longer democracy, it is dictatorship.

If you cannot understand all this and still insist that the government is right to go after Sowore because of the words he used then it means you dont understand democracy and how it works

if yes, u might have heard of Trump, and his Rivals, they've called him all they can, many have protested, called for his impeachment (bundle him out can also mean impeachment.) some dems have even called for secession.
Same in France, UK etc, but when it comes to Nigeria, u guys will always find good excuses for Buhari.

There have also been several calls for Buhari's impeachment, PDP have attacked several times, we have seen FFK, RENO on the social media....have any of them been picked up. Make noise on the internet that u want to start a revolution protest in the states and see if CIA or FBI will not pick u up

Those in government are merely temporary custodians of the power to organise society in favovour of the ideals ofthe people, no more. If the people wish to change those ideals so be it. We must in that light discard all feudal thoughts about the people we put there. The authority they wield is given by the people.

What a proper government should do to prevent things degenerating to this level of incivility is to practice the tenets of democracy which starts with pluralism, the ability to permit alternate power bases and tap into their vibes to stabilise the polity and cou try in ge eral. That means allowing free expression, allowing diverse expression and allowing rigorous debates while being keen to respond to the desires and wishes of the generality of people.

It is natural for hot air to rise and cool air replaces and mixes in causing wind. It is natural for heated ocean water to mix with cooler ocean water to trigger precipitation. It is natural for fresh precipitates to mix with salty ocean water to stimulate ocean current and keep the earth's electrical battery constantly charged. It is natural for the people and government to mix their views to move democracy forward but when government decides to block all avenues and stymie all the vents of democracy an earthquake of volcanic proportions is inevitable.

This without doubt has been the most intolerant democratically elected government since independence. It has gone through great lengths to shutdown the other two arms of government, destabilise opposing political parties and truncate all institutions of adjudication. For how long you expect this to continue without a response remains a mystery to me but any half intelligent citizen would know that trouble is brewing. Add to this fact that it is not remotely a performing government to assuage any section of its citizens...

Let me first let you know am a Christian and is not like am backing Shiite for anything but am just trying to state the obvious. Like I said earlier Nigerian Police are not well trained in handling riot-related issues. I blamed the Nigerian Police for that Shiite incident. I for one did not see in any video the Shiite guys holding any weapon. I believe we don't know the true story about what really went down. Am against this government also but sometimes we have to use the right words so they won't hold on that as an excuse. There excuse about this protest is justifiable even under our Nigerian constitution. No government will allow a revolution to move against them and also using Days of Rage and also. And also coming from a Presidential Aspirant that just lost the election. How would we all feel if Atiku says he is leading a protest of revolution and asking for a new Nigeria. Is not just coming from a normal Nigerian citizen but a recent presidential Aspirant. Sowore should have known better except if he has other plans that we all don't know about. I really don't trust all these guys like that. We will be shocked to know he is even working with APC. Just a suspicion.

Revolution is WAR against a government. He should have said protest and no one will mind. Calling for revolution publicly is a bad vibe. Now the government is on alert, and they understand its war, so dont blame them for trying to war early.

While I am strongly in support of freedom of speech and association, I really don't think any government in the world wouldn't act on organizers of a protest which have been widely publicised as a "REVOLUTION" protest.

In my PERSONAL opinion, a better adjective or word should have been used for the so called protest.
