In between the period when you were assigned that tag number and the interview session, can you vividly recall what you use the tag number for?

On my own date, people were asked to traced their name on a sheet using their tag number and sign against it while also imputing account details.

Then the security officer cut off the tag at exit point.

And yes, we were asked to memorize our sheet number and S/N to sign out and also put down our account details if we want NNPC to reimburse us "a token" (as it was called) for trasportation.
After the interview, i dashed to Block D and signed out on Sheet 1, S/N 6 which i had initially entered before interview and just the next table, i was directed to put my account details....there, i had to write my account name etc, and now a different sheet and a new S/N.

I actually assumed the tag to be as "useless" as it was during CBT...cos after the CBT, we left with the tag....i was even smiling like "this tag go serve a wrist watch today" i was leaving, then a man tapped me that he needed to use scissors on my wrist (na him cut the tag and we smiles.)

I dont even know any special thing on that tag

No age on nysc cert. But there is age on waec cert and most org/corporations follow it for a fact check (reason why neco is better in such cases)

So today at work, I was working hard on my own jeje... Then went out for my lunch break only to return to see "2 missed calls" from an unknown number on my phone...

Tried to reach the person but got number busy instead... Next thing I heard "Am I on to Re......?"
I replied, "yes, good afternoon"

Caller: "I'm calling you from NNPC. Please I'll need you to update your personal information on your portal "

Me: "OK ma"... And dropped after wishing her a lovely rest of the day....

You guys, coman see how I was dancing already... Running to go share the good news with my colleagues... Only to meet them all laughing... I was wondering what was happening....

Only to find out that I had been had by my colleagues ... Kai wicked...

See me running to nairaland to share the good news and see celebration o.. ...

You need to hear how calm I was on the phone, greeting and answering with "Sir, Sir"

I think the only use of the tag for me that day was just to identify me as being accredited, datzall. I was never requested to memorise any sheet number

In all honesty, we can unravel this thing if we cooperate

So let's start by finding answers to these questions

Did they pay anybody today?

How many interviewees are they paying per day?

If anyone of us here have seen interviewees from dates like 3rd, 5th, 8th and 10th received alert, can we try and post screenshot here (we've had mass wave of 2nd, 9th and 11th, and we've gotten evidence of 1st and 4th too here on nairaland)

How many of the interviewees are even here on nairaland and what's our fraction to the total number of interviewees?





Note, you guys can go and check ExxonMobil and Total thread, you'll observe that, when it comes to invite for interviews (most especially) and test, some applicants will be like "have they sent invite to those in Abuja? have they sent invite to those in PH? have not seen anybody from UYO, they've not sent invites to financial analysts applicants, they're yet to send invites to subsea engineer, etc" at the end of the day, you'll find one or two guys saying mail has dropped for next stage.

In short, saying "I've not seen a particular date been paid" is not enough to dismiss "theories" floating around.


Remember, during test and interview invites, some were asking questions like " did they shortlist applicants from Private University? did they shortlist anybody that sat for test in XYZ Center in Abuja? I'm yet to see anybody from ABC center in Kano that was shortlisted etc".

At the end of day nko? People were shortlisted from their centers, or discipline or schools.

I have not been paid, and no 8th I have seen that has been paid, come on, there's obviously no correlation. Oga jarus had said this, and I agree with him. The AB hypothesis can not be called a theory.

I don't think it's a cause for concern. You simply followed instructions. And since they've paid some others who had similar experience as yours, they'll def pay you (that's if you've not been paid and you're not scared of being paid ) and others too. They know how they will sort their thing.

If payment has stopped trickling down, a necessary but insufficient condition for Tfare and APL to be related would be that there exists an arbitrary panel, P such that all the 6 candidates in P have been paid. Because (9000/6 =1500) is greater than 1300(speculated number to be recruited). I don't think anyone has suggested the existence of such a panel up till now.

To understand my point, look at it this way: if in all panels at least one person is not paid, and these are the ones that would be called. It would mean that 1/6 of the total candidate pool of 9000 which is 1500(greater than the speculated number(1300) of people to be recruited) will receive APL which is in opposition to wide spread speculation that 1300 or less candidates would be recruited.

I did on the 5th. 12pm

We were given a tag after verification of documents and one of the officers told us to remain the number on our tags as it’s the number of the sheet we wrote our names and our serial number.

After the interview, at Block D, the officer there used the number on the tag to give me the sheet I wrote my name in during the verification and I inputted my account details and signed out.

NNPC is well aware of what she is doing... I mean an organization that has been well coordinated begins to make payment in an haphazard manner and we think it's just "Nothing"... There is more to it and its not about trying to favor the non-alertees or alertees....it will unravel itself in due time...

I can categorically tell you that I know someone that turned 28 in June 2018.
So, apparently, he's 29 when he attended the interview and he was interviewed but yet to be paid

I disagree we "don't all know this is Nigeria ....".
What I know and see is an NNPC that is bent on positive reformation. If we cannot even hope on change when it is this glaring that the company is making positive efforts then we are contributing to the failure of the system.

This is not Nigeria that is corrupt but a Nigeria that is reforming a least as evident in NNPC recent activities.

This age thing should not be an issue in a country where graduates from Lautech/OAU finished their 4/5 years programs in 7/8 years. This issue of ageism would lead to enough age falsification in the future.

It's very easy to beat. When a child wants to write WAEC/NECO he might be advised by his brothers (who are victims of ageism) to lower his age to 15 years from 19 years. Why do footballers go by their football ages in Nigeria?

That's why NANS and that human right lawyer accused NNPC that their recruitment is discriminatory on the basis of age.

PS: More than 1.5 millions applicants struggle to gain admission into our higher institutions of learning. And the figures keep becoming bigger every year. They are competing for just limited slots of a little above 500k. They are now even limited to just one university choice. It means if your admission to OAU is unsuccessful this year, you have to try again the next year. Unlike in the past when you have two/three choices to try your luck. (Private universities are not for UTME candidates from poor homes).

A widow told me recently how she advised her 2nd child to wait for his elder brother to finish university education before he could continue. The boy just finished his secondary education and made all his papers in the just released WAEC. Inside life sha ...
