My Journey To The Kindle World by myjourneysofar: 8:48pm On Jul 30, 2019
I first saw this kindle write up in 2014. I discussed with my Father about it but I wasn't serious then.

I know I have missed a lot but fear is always the element in us that prevent one from taking action.

In that 2014, I opened a KDP account but no book till date.

Constant reading of HeliosHay's testimonial success story has pricked my heart.

Needless to say I am late into this, I have decided to start.

I owe gratitude to God for making me see this thread and have constantly brought it to my path in the business section. I appreciate the originator of this thread in NL, mk8 and then HeliosHay for gingering people with his testimonials.

I know nothing is easy but with and God and determination, success is inevitable.

My Journey To Kindle.

I have contracted and got a written fiction book.

I have opened an ACX account in my name too and updated my payment details.

But

My laptop is dead and I am stuck right now.

No money for proof reading, copyscaping and cover design.
These are my challenges now but I will keep you posted when these are settled. God got my back.

Hi Czarina

Helioshay has been a great mentor. His mentioning of millions keep my mind blowing. That inspired me to take action.
I hope to get close to him someday.
Sorry to learn you dropped halfway, what was the reason.

Yeah, he is.

One week, I was eager to do everything on the book, the next week, my whole zeal fizzled, plus I have my hands on too many things. Not like they're all yielding results like I'd want them to.

I heard about Kindle way back in 2014 or thereabout but never took action.
Gather the motivation by force because it won't come easily.
In this one book I am learning many things.

You sound like someone from Beatzone's thread, are you?
Uhhmm.. I refuse to say more about my identity.
But I like your spirit.
Get on with the amazon kindle thingy.
At first the zeal was overflowing after reading that mk guy thread, I was so eager to get started already.
I started writing my first book, after various nights of typing with my Nokia x2 I came up an 8000 words book.
Published it on Amazon to a big flop! Just 8 downloads with the free promo.
I encouraged myself to try harder,.I started the second book and published it after 3 weeks.
I wrote the book, proofread, designed cover myself and took the pain of uploading it to kindle. Again it flopped!
Amazon didn't even care to dash me the least $1 at least for the pain it took me in editing that book on ms word. Ms Word almost made me run mad with editing.
My overflowing zeal evaporated like camphor.
Just 20 kenp reads and just 7 downloads through out the whole promo.
Went over to romance section and happened to bump into one of ilegend's post, dude was killing it on kindle. Together with his motivational words, I started writing the third book now.
Maybe what killed my books were lack of research and wacky keywords.
The second book generated $2.7 dollars last month. To withdraw the money was a herculean task because it fell way behind my expectations.
I was like is $2 my sleepless nights wasted when my mates where busy watching telemundo or the incessant pain I still experience on my thumbs?
Imagine writing from scratch, editing the book, proofreading it, cover designing by yourself and uploading but your dashboard has too much spaces like Buhari's gap teeth.
That thing can kill a man's spirit!
You see Helioshay's dashboard and compare to yours and depression will want to kill you.
But one thing I like about that kindle is that, its a kind of investment that generates continuous revenue unlike freelancing where you only get money per work.
In kindle, you just work once and reap the rewards continuously.
So am still giving it a shot.
I have 3 books am writing on. Like I do switch synchronously if I run out of steam writing one, the next one takes its turn.
Lemme see if I can have enough books to generate at least $100 per month before I finish university.

I wish I practiced some of these things back then. Your hard work will pay off, I know that.

Yeah, I'll begin the Kindle thing again. Thanks.

Keep up the good work all. Rome wasn't built in a day..I started with making $10-$50 per month and scaled up from there.

My advice is don't spread yourself too thin doing a lot of different things. I was able to get to the level I am now partly because I FOCUSED exclusively on Kindle Publishing 24/7 all day every day.

You become a master at something when you commit 10,000+ hours of your time doing it.

I was like that or should I say I am?
I have a YouTube channel with over 1k subscribers.
I have some domains to flip but never had success(Lack of creativity)
I have a US and a UK click bank, not a dollar.
Did blogging 4years ago and made about $299.
Have Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer, Guru and Peoplesperhour account, not a dollar.
What is the problem, fear and lack of skill.

I thank God anyway.

I have not sold a book on Kindle yet, it's normal but I know and I am sure that certainly sales will come through.

Yesterday, I got about 10 KOLL or KU.

I know I am not doing bad. Am going higher....

The first thing to do is to start writing a book, preferably, a 'How to...' Book.
Make it at least 5k words and then open an account with kindle, design a cover ( I will help you design a book cover for free. Don't worry about it)
Format with ms word or google docs, which ever one doesn't matter.
Then upload it with nice keywords.
Sit back and watch amazon market it for you.

This is the best decision you have ever made and if you are consistent, you will be financially free very soon. Started out in 2017 after i saw MK82's trend and i jumped into it. Made a lot of mistakes and got my account terminated. Started all over again, this time well informed and know things to do to avoid amazon's hammer. Today i see N400,000 every month. Don't ever be discourage with little beginning. With consistency, prayers and hard work, you will get there. No short cuts, just be diligent. I am still a working progress. Still writing like mad until i get the 7 digit figure. Below are some of my sales report to encourage you and to make you know you have chosen the right path to financial freedom when most Nigerian youths are still carrying files up and down looking for job, you can live your dream life from kdp income. Keep the faith, it will take you a lot of sleepless nights to get what you want, but trust me, in the long run, you will get there. The best thing about kdp is that you are not depending on the Nigerian economy to survive. All thanks to God, Mk82 and the rest of the kdp forebearers who showed us the path and light to financial freedom working from home.

Of course. I prefer it to system.
Unless I want to make heavy editing, but for most cases, Google docs got your back.
