Anyone willing to risk to travel abroad on a tourist visa and have hidden plans to stay behind beyond their legal presence should be ready to provide their own accommodation.

Atleast for a jjc in another country u will have to libe with someone who wil show u d way.... They will welcome u openly for 2 days but after like 1 week they suddenly change attitudes

Hmmm...this doesn't always work that way.

In fact, some people have used such tactics to lie to their abroad host and when later found out the end results were very unpleasant.

Yes, you're right.

People living abroad should not be discouraging anyone to come abroad too...but they should also remind those coming from Naija that if incase they need their help when they indeed get abroad, they should not be surprised if they are not able to offer to help them settle abroad.

as a jjc abroad even if u are rich asf u just dont knock any everyhouse and start asking wether they are vacant or not

Okay, I don't think it's the helping that some Nigerians abroad are not willing to do

I think it's the lack of trust that most Nigerians already have with each other that somehow goes to affect the type of help they are willing to offer.

BTW, just in living in Nigeria...how many Nigerians really trust and help each other genuinely?

There are several Nigerian communities overseas.

It is good to give and receive help but I think it is best for any newcomer to go in not depending on the help they will receive from others. Any help will then be seen as a bonus and not a necessity.

For better or for worse, life in the West is largely an independent affair.

Please Adebayo is an exception not the rule. Man went to Oxford, HBS and HLS. Worked with Goldman and Credit Sussie. Compared to the Indians, they're gazillions of their "Adebayos". So Ednut1 is right regarding creating jobs. Moreover, he's a general partner of the PE not the owner. Global Infrastructure Partners (owners of the airports) is different from Adebayo (GP of the firm). A company is different from whoever is the CEO.

Regarding the aspect of Nigerians not helping, I'll say it's due to the distrust phenomenon amongst us. Most are afraid the newcomers will incur additional costs, might commit crime and worst of all - don't contribute financially to the household. Unless blood relations, it can be difficult to accommodate a newcomer for a long time. The best option if you desire relocating is through education. Apply to top schools (provided you have what it takes), get funded and holla! You are in the US. That uncle of yours will be forced to reckon with you. Imagine informing him impromptu that you are in UC Berkeley. He'll be startled!

Most nigerians would consider this "discouragement". You can't win with Nigerians. By "encouragement" they mean help them beat the system illegally, put them up and help with their expenses, irrespective of what negative impact that has on them as the host.

Most of those Latinos take priorities of helping their own than with any other race.

Indians and Chinese are incomparable...... Those guys are too much, you can't compare them with africans. They soo much loves themselves I agreed to that.

In brampton Canada majority of the house there is occupied by Indians, they will clearly tell you they want only Indian.... Even jobs too, if India is the boss, majority of workers will be Indians.

On Monday, a new batch of Nigerian migrants will be deported from Germany to Nigeria.

The migrants are expected to leave Frankfurt Airport at 8 am and land in Nigeria’s Murtala Mohammed International Airport around 2 pm and 3 pm.

As a Jjc, you don’t have to live with anyone..that’s why there’s Airbnb. There’s google for the information you need to get around, if you intend to migrate legally and have the funds, nobody will discourage you because it’s not their business.

If you intend to migrate illegally, I don’t understand why you think somebody that won’t house you is wicked.

I get that you think your country men owe you some kind of favor.

Nobody does, it’s easier to help someone that has an idea of what they’re walking into, than someone that is looking at the world through rose tinted glasses.

Why do you want to move to another country without thinking of your own accommodations? I’m in Canada, and Nigerians here help each other network and stuff like that, but definitely not a leeeching relationship.
