I bought StantonMartialArts.com sometime this year cause I realised the real owner forgot to renew it, and it dropped that day. I sent him a mail and he said how did I get this domain that it's his. Called me that elchapo I once said here. Told him to contact his internet marketing team to understand that I didn't steal the domain. Few days later he reached me that he understands now and wants the domain back to godaddy where he had it how possible is it, lead him on, he enjoyed the conversation and bought at my price and he is willing to transfer to godaddy much later

So you need to understand domaining requires common sense

Experienced something similar some months ago. The man probably checked his analytics to know where I logged into his website from. Tried explaining but he kept on with the name calling... Na so me too change am for am. Bleep the sale. He wasn't the only end user after all.

From my newbie experience, tho haven't made any sale. Still a stark newbie.

Brandables are pretty competitive, uncertain, oversaturated, takes time and a bit of luck to make s sale. Lest, you would do the outbound yourself, if it's a targeted name to a specific niche. Like a name I recently got approved for on SQ: herbnmed/king....pretty much outboundable.

Else, d best thing is to stick to d Geo for stark newbies on low budget.

I went through SQ, imagine just one person owning more than 200 names on premium listings....do d maths, it takes a bit of luck when u do probability to hit a sale when u have a migre 10 listed domains.

Tho on Sq I only have 2 listed currently. Now shifting from Brandables to GEO's.

Mr IK iykepromotions nd others help a stark newbie make a first sale. Drops pen.

I too experienced it. But when checked whois is wasn't registered immediately.
Maybe they made a mistake telling me it's available.
It's on godaddy

I am saying capture the cities of domain interest. Don't register only 1 domain. Say u focus on Texas, u will register the most important cities in Texas. Hope u understand

doer and I'm not who you think I am. Have a great day!" You'll be surprised how
he will be begging you to buy it from you. But make sure it goes through escrow
if he is going to be a con artist.

Lemme just chip this, I don't support anyone going in into an argument over a domain name with an end-user. It's childish and portrays you as a bad dealer. In normal offline business, people will talk you down, insult Ur business proposal, etc, but u just got to move on and keep pushing. That's the strength that drives passion.

If an end-user calls u crap, and all sorts, if your reply can't be professional enough to convince him( Not threatening), that the domain name is worth something to him, then please apply the silence Notes.

In normal parlance, u carry a box of groundnuts to meet me in my office and I tell you please do u think I need groundnuts, get the Bleep out of my sight, will your next line of action be insult me cos I told you that?

Apply common sense in dealing with your prospective customers/end-users/ clients.

If you need attention from Godaddy who claimed they stopped live chat (a big lie), just open opera mini on desktop, scroll to the bottom and click "contact us" BUT do not log into your account while on there. look to the bottom right corner of your screen and click the chat logo or icon as seen attached.

The truth is Godaddy live chat is still available in the US and when you use opera mini to access Godaddy, you are not on a Nigerian IP.

Secondly, if you try to access some website and it says access denied (guessing we all mostly use chrome here),just open Opera Mini and access the website...

Bro, I'm among the guilty ones. The thing is that I've been following the thread since last year without even logging in. Just recovered my nairaland account.

The opera mini stuff works perfectly. Got it last night and it successfully bypassed the blocks some websites have in place. Thanks a lot for your efforts.

Yes, there is a way around it. You've to remember that every domain search
tool or website has a log file. You can NEVER rule out premium domain registration
which was previously available when you checked. It's not stealing, it is just
unethical for a professional domain registration service to do so. But what can you
do? After all, domain name registration is on "first come, first served" basis.

This is what I always do because I've had an awful experience with this too. I type the
domain name directly on my browser to find out if it resolves to a website, domain-for-sale
page or anything. Secondly, I go to Google.com to type the domain name with the extension
to be sure if it is indexed or not. I think Google is too big to troll pennies in domain names.
If it doesn't, I sit back and weigh the options of registering the name or not to register.

If the domain name doesn't resolve to a website that does not mean it will be available all the time.
There are times there may be bridge. This is why I ponder over the idea of how important
the domain name is to me after doing my due diligence. I can even think about it in 1, 2, 3, etc, days.
During this time, I'm digging deep into more research to see if there is any reason not to
register it.

A domain investor is never in a hurry. There are millions of domain investing opportunities out
there. If you miss one, another one will come. When I'm convinced that the name is a money
maker to register, I make sure I have fund in my preferred domain registrar account or bank
account to transfer to registrar.

If all the above steps are okay, I can now confidently go to the said registrar to check availability
and register the domain immediately. Why should I have hypertension for checking a domain name
only to find out someone else beats me to it.

Most times, bad customers are the best ones to make money from. I had
a bad customer in my brick-and-mortar business and I handled her the
way I know marketing. Today, she had referred not less than 10 clients
to me.

Your Nigerian fellows have dealt with these whites through fraud that they
are left with sour taste. Don't blame them
