Lol.. if I am ask..how much do u think d school fees will be for a year abroad, not considering accommodation that is lyk 150-300k per month, feeding, health insurance, transport.
fullofgrace:
I advised parents to avoid sending their children to such schools rather they should look for cheap university abroad and send them. Where they can be exposed to opportunities and most likely employment.
Spending such amount of money in Nigeria university is not encouraging. Nigerian need more of skills acquisition than certificate.

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging but you are being direspectful for even trying to bring my parents into this.

For your info, I did my masters in USA and currently working here and I can boldly say I'm doing good for my age.

I have my reason for asking that question, it does not imply that I'm wretched or poor.

Get that bro!

I'm sorry, am just trying to be sarcastic

you can't say he's lieing. And cost of an institution doesn't depend on whether uni or poly or coe.
In NY school year ones fee is 61k, the rest years is 28k (all paid annually). For a five years course, it would total 173k. Hostel accommodation is 12k (times five years is 60k). Bringing the total to 233k for the school throughout the school year. Pocket money and transportation is not part of tuition and is personal

You be ajebo with that payment all through.
My first year payment in LASU was N1,570 including GNS textbook and that was just in 1996 oh..

From 200-400 Level,,my school fee was N270 ( for Arts, Languages and Humanities in LASU..

That's 1996-2000..

I wonder now oh

Lol currently we pay 25k per session. For a 5 year course, it amounts to 125k in total. As it stands, lasu is the cheapest state University in the country..

A question I would really love to know its answers is the employment rate of covenant university graduates after these fees. If it is high, then it is worth every penny!

I for one think the lack of insufficient money makes one think spending heavily to acquire education is a waste of money. Quality Education isn't cheap.

I think that depends on the school you attended. Abịa state university will cost a 100L student about 600k plus... But the worst of it all is that you won't see what you paid for - terrible laboratory with no equipment, fake x-ray result that is used used repeatedly for all the students even after paying the medical dues. Acceptance fee alone is 100k not to talk of the school fees, to check post utme result is 3k... Please if you can enjoy standard education in Covenant University with that amount, I think it's worth it.
You mean people really pay as much 600k for the first year for a sub-standard school like Abia State University? Unbelievable..

You can’t find cheap universities giving good opportunities to immigrants with these amounts abroad, evaluating the fees based on the current Nigeria’s economy is like comparing an ant to a whale. Covenant University provides better opportunities, compared to other Nigerian universities. Quality education ain’t cheap.

There are no schools abroad that you will pay 1Million naira as fees. Mind you a dollar to naira is 365. That’s not even up to accommodation fees in any schoool in USA, UK, CANADA. If you know private schools in Nigeria, you will know that covenant is among one of the cheapest that you can get quality education. Quality education isn’t cheap, if you think at lying try applying to any schooo abroad be it USA, Canada, UK etc and you will see for yourself.

What we are talking about here is the opportunities and exposure. I would have recommended such schools only if after graduations they are assured of jobs.
By the way wat is fate of the children of the poor church members through which their tithe and offering were used to set up such edifice structures.
Any Church without a mercy or considerations of the poor is a fraud

It is not employment that really matters for anybody can be employed. What universities are set up to do is to solve problems. What one should be asking is the amount of their research output.

What !!!! $61K for a school in NY per yr, In state or Out of state fees. I paid in state within Georgia University System of $9K including lodging Tuition and meal plan per semester for my son. First year student has to live on campus but by year two I paid $1850 in tuition per semester depending on the number of credit hours you are taking. People you have to do your homework. I figure total outlay for the whole 4 yrs will run about $60k. Once you child is over 20 let your child do the registration remove yourself that way he can qualify for Pell Grant of $2500 free per year. That is $10K right there.

It's the reason why it is ranked above UI. CU's research output has been impressive, so good it impressed THE in her ranking indicators.

I am not referring to school. I am referring to how prospective the course is especially in Africa. How many companies need Biochemistry/Microbiology students.. Most people who studied this course always try to go for Masters abroad. And no be everybody be small pikin for Nairaland. I finshed university long time ago

There is no amount of breakdown that will justify the cost. How can the less privilege get such quality education. Maybe he should build another one for the less privilege at least comparable to the standard of government owned university. I see ministry as a reach out campaign to lost souls and not just for profit making. Even those who earn 100k per month can't send their kids there.

What kind of tools are these? And lab coats can be bought or down for less than 3k per unit. undecided At the back of LASUTH medical school, lab coats are sold for 3k to 3.5k depending on size.

ID card should not cost more than 2k. How much are they charging for it?

Employable graduates, is totally different from employed graduates. How many of their graduates are fully employed, (that is the real question), not under-employed or unemployed, o! shocked

Is it 50% or 70% of their total graduate pool, within the first 2 years of graduation? Those are the salient questions. "Employable," doesn't cut it. undecided

Have you bothered to ask how much private secondary schools pay? Even primary schools. Bottom line go for scholarship. Covenant has two scholarship programs.

Yes, we know how much private secondary schools pay. Do they pay up to 1 million per session?

As for the scholarship schemes, how many of the students are accepted on scholarship? Is it up to 50% of the student body?
