oluwaisgreat:She did not ask why I was changing from Pharmacology to Oncology. She only noted that I am going for Oncology, and I nodded yes in affirmation. Also, there's really no problem in furthering in Cancer research as a Pharmacologist because Antineoplastic drugs and Cancer is a part of Pharmacology. In fact in schools like Duke University, we have the PhD program as Pharmacology and Cancer Biology. Thank you for your input. |

Schrodinger1:Thank you. Yh, I noticed she denied like 3 people when I was there, and then would give that fake sad look. Although she approved the VISA of an aged couple before me going for a conference, they have always been going for the conference. She didn't ask of my SOA. And although I stuttered a bit, I think I was quite confident and the interview was going well until she rejected me. |

oluwaisgreat:I don't think it has anything to do with the change. An admission committee consisting of seasoned Professors already went through his files n found it worthy of an assistantship; nothing else matters. Sorry @charliejose, try to defer...I don't know why I am just pissed at your denial. The only thing I see is that the VO is not seeing a progression in your career. Going from pharma, to marketing to oncology doesn't look tidy but I can relate, we just have to take the job that come out way sometimes. |

charliejose:Well if you can avoid sponsors that deals with importation of cars, Please do. I sensed it's one of the things that delayed me alot too. other people has shared nice suggestions, let me not repeat them. Also if you are given MSc, talk about MSc and don't link PhD to it since you don't have adequate funding for PhD. |

charliejose:Note : (1) You shouldn't have stated you worked as a marketing executive when you studied pharmacology and you even had the opportunity to work in a Pharmaceutical company. *Incoherent line of profession * (2) Based on personal experience, I think VOs prefers that there should be no time whereby you have no job at hand especially as a graduate, even if it's the least of a teaching job. *preparing for your graduate studies since March doesn't seems to ace it. Of course, so many people here processed their admission, did exams while still working. Personally, I will say that was my own saving grace during my interview cos since I graduated I've always kept myself busy and I will say that was the hardest question in my interview. (3) I will say going for your PhD after MSc rang a bell of probably staying back in the US after your MSc. (4) please kindly find another well reckoned profession to always accord your sponsors. OVERALL, YOU DID WELL. |

Hello everyone, Please I would like to know the kind of jobs an F2 visa holder can work in the US? For e.g a PhD student takes his wife to the US alongside, what kind of jobs can she do to support him? And can she change her visa status should she find an employer willing to employ her? |

Anfieldboss:I dont think f2 holders are allowed to work. The only thing i know is they can do vocational training |

charliejose:Hi bro, sorry for your denial. Your transcript was great but where I sensed problem was when you mentioned PhD, I think she screamed intended immigrant in her mind. Next time you go, focus on msc, do not mention your future study plans. I think you should write to your school for a defer. Success next time! |

Good Morning, GRE is a standardized exam that is usually a prerequisite for admission into graduate schools in north America. GRE is not the only requirement, your GPA, Statement of purpose and referral letters are also important for admission... You can do more research on your own! Please drop your Email address for some GRE materials Ezikesamuel312: |

abnice2004:What scholarship was she given. What her gpa.... did she only apply to one school. Always spread your options |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by abnice2004: 10:11am On Aug 31, 2019 |
Thanks for your response madam. She was given 50 percent scholarship which the remaining is still much. Applying to many schools is not the problem but we want to be sure of 3 or 4 that gives full scholarship. Her high school GP is 4.0. What scholarship was she given. What her gpa.... did she only apply to one school. Always spread your options[/quote] |
