Apart from their elite, core northerners don't travel out alot. The only place they try to visit is Saudi Arabia because of religious obligations. They are indifferent to the xenophobic attacks because the people affected are not core northerners or Muslims, even if there are Nigerian Muslim victims they may likely be Yoruba Muslims who they don't have much regard for. The average core Northerner is loyal to Islam first and then the Hausa fulani core North but not Nigeria. You can see that they were more vocal about the news of a mosque demolition in Rivers State than the killing of Nigerians in SA.
