Hello all gurus in the house, i would reeeaaallly appreciate if I could get some advice here. I am a Uk citizen who lives in Nigeria with my husband two small kids and a teenager who i have legal guardianship of.

My husband is not a British citizen, 2 small kids are British citizens, teenager is not a British citizen.

I am planning to move over to the UK and settle there. my problem is how to get the teenager over with me and my two kids, hubby is planning to join us later.

i have legal guardianship of her done in the Nigerian court since 2016.
Do I have to get parental adoption of her??
What type of visa would I apply for her??
Would she be granted when i do not have a job in the UK??
Or do I have to travel and get a job first before applying for her??

She is 15 years and will turn 16 in June 2020.

Please Please someone should help me out

Best bet is to adopt her officially before she is 18 years. Then you can apply for her British passport from within Nigeria using the adoption papers. She might be refuse a visa now since you do not have a job in the UK to take care of her. This will means a recourse to public fund if visa is approved. Alternatively leave for the UK settled down, get a job are then apply for her to join you later.

I never knew trend like this do exist on nsiraland. Kudos to the moderators and the participants.
This is my case:
I was previously denied visa bunch UK in 2006 and 2009 and by the US in 2017.
My current company a british/dutch oil Giant recently nominated me to travel to the UK to attend 1 week factory acceptance test for some equipment.
They gave me sponsorship letter and gave booked all my flight tickets with KLM.
I got a wrong advise from a friend not to declare my us visa refusal.
I did declared the two UK refusals.
But said no on the US refusal.
But on the day of my submission, I changed my mind and wrote a cover letter to the ECO disclosing this refusal of us visa and also attached the rejection letter along with my invitation letter to the US with my application.
Yesterday I received a mail from the UK visa processing. Center that my application have been concluded. And will soon be dispatched.
Do I stand any chance of getting the visa
I'm so scared reading the trends here.
Someone with experience should help me....

Hello Mr. Justwise and the gurus in the forum. I planned on visiting the UK on a tourist basis but I also want to visit a brother in Mexico after spending 5days in the UK. My question is this, do I need to apply for Mexico visa or I can use the valid UK visa to enter Mexico and get stamped in coz I read it online that any nationality that holds a valid visa of US, UK Canada, Japan and shengen does not need a visa when coming to Mexico. I want you guys to enlighten me more about it. Thanks in anticipation

Only the ECO can determine that. If you’re refused certainly it will not be based on your US refusal as you have disclosed it in your cover letter.

Yes take your passport to the VAC with the email. They will collect it and send it to UKVI for the visa stamp, if that email is real and genuine. Congratulations!!

I have read that as well but never seen anyone who tried it.

Give it a go but you need to book a return ticket to the UK or to Nigeria

As for the letter being genuine... The home office called my UK host about 9:45 am this morning, asked her some couple of questions and about 12:40 this letter came in...

Does one necessarily need to have a UK host before a decision could be overturned?

Once the home office is set for a review, they order the ECM to do the review, the ECM is the oga of ECO...

His own his to make sure where u going is expecting u, before he overturns the decision. If u don't have a host, they confirm your hotel booking and call your work place.

I had 1.5 years student visa and I changed to spouse visa on the 8th month of the student visa. Does the number of months I spent on the student visa counts to the spouse visa when I am applying for ILR on the 5 years route? or must I have to wait to finish the 2.5 and 2.5 (5years) without counting the months I used during my student visa before I apply?
Also, can I apply for ILR without using a solicitor?

Hello gurus in the house

Please i've got a quick question, am putting documents together for my moms appointment, she got a land from my dad last month specifically on the 6th of August and the said document was properly documented i.e deed of conveyance & plan of the property. my question now is can she use the land as ties to Nigeria considering it was just purchased last month and from my dad or does this raise suspicion.

Secondly the question of the house you live in the application form? my parents house has only my dads name in the papers, while filling out her application form i wrote the property is owned by myself and my husband is this going to be an issue or does my dad need to write a letter. a quick response will be appreciated.

Thanks guyz...
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by MrsDaniels(f): 11:23pm On Sep 04, 2019
Yes its an asset so it serves as a tie.....also she should submit copies of dependants she is leaving behind! E.g ur dad n all.

2. Yes ur dad needs to write a letter and also tell that his happy for ur mum to travel whilst he stays back. And if he has pple to cater for him upon her departure he should state so too in the letter. Wish her luck.
