Bad day with qa over here. Picked my sweetest call today. On the 48th statement( which was two away from the last), MTN decided to mess it up. Connection was lost. Tried refreshing the page and it started all over( still confused because I saved it). I immediately switched to 9mobile to avoid further disappointments since I had about 15mins left and already knew what to transcribe.

6mins to the end, phone went off!!!( forgotten I had set it on auto off by that time)

We march on embarassed

How are you able to save it? I did a 12 mins call yesterday and when I tried to submit it, I mistakenly reloaded the page. I lost everything I did. I use a phone by the way

please, can you say more on this; I requested for withdrawal from a South African PayPal that's linked with UBA Africard since Thursday last week and up till I haven't heard from them.

what do you suggest I do? mind you, I linked the card that same Thursday and verified it before initiating the withdrawal.

thank you
Is the withdrawal pending or has the funds left your PP. You may want to check your card for the funds as you may not get alert when the money hits you

The best thing you can do for yourself is to continually try and fail.
As you continue, go through the FAQ and the first few pages of this thread to get familiar.

The major issue is allowing your ears get used to the calls.

Guys like samsard, hausadreturn drawnobet and co who created and gave us advice at the beginning of this thread didn't really have it as easy as most of us are today.

They had no one to ask and used their failures to learn. I really admire them because if not for this thread, I would have given up on the job a long time ago before I got the hang of it.

Now, the 1's and 2's rating is like a dream to me. There was a time I though I will never get five consecutively. I thought guys like psyqs and Biggieboy were some sort of wizards with how good they were at getting those five's. grin

Congrats.

It's a good thing u did not quit back then. I remember when u were of the opinion that the whole platform is rigged against Nigerians/Africans. That they edit already submitted transcripts so they can rate u 1 or 2. Lol.

U must be laughing now when u remember ur initial struggles back then.

So, a Nigerian said on Slack, "the rate at which new members join QA world is alarming"...
And then recommended that QA world should do something or stop recruiting for now.

I have a feeling that person is new.
Can you imagine having the rare opportunity to work in QA, and then recommending that they should stop recruitment for now?

As hilarious as it sounds, that was really over-reaching.
C'mon!!!
I saw that. I almost gave a rude remark to that person. Can you imagine? because you've been given an opportunity to work, you want to barrier others.
p.s are you sure that person is Nigerian?

Your work is saved automatically if you use Chrome with a good internet connection. Even when you refresh, you should get your work back. That's why qa advises you to use that browser

Guys, please, help me out. If I link my PayPal account to the International Afribank card, will I be able to withdraw directly from the ATM? Can I check my balance? At what rate do they convert to naira? Is there any disadvantage in linking it to a GTBank dollar Mastercard/Visa card? Or even Naira Mastercard? Please, provide me with answers to these. A lot of people would benefit from it. Thank you very much

I use chrome and realise even if I shut down my system and reboot, I still get my work in full. Before, if you refresh in chrome, you could lost everything. But no more the case now.

Good day house...

I followed this thread from the first page till the 100th(mhen! shit ain't easy) and i must say you guys are really doing a great job.

Thumbs up to everyone that have contributed one way or the other to help newbies find their bearing..God bless

I have registered and passed all the test, created a paypal account. thanks to @drawnobet for that link to the pdf..

My questions

I cant seems to find the icon were i'd click to link my card(though, i have not yet gotten my africard. Just curious). In my paypal dashboard

When i log in using "app.qa-world.com" it takes me to a place where i'd see ..."last week leaderboard......congratulations to top transcriber" at the right hand side and "have a question? Read the FAQ......view your profile" at the left hand side... Is this place my QA_world dashboard? I can't find any audio to transcribe here.

I will appreciate if someone can help me with answers to these questions..Thanks

There are no calls on the queue. This happens once in a while. Keep checking back. It will be updated as soon as there are calls to be transcribed

If u refresh when the network is faulty then you'll lose ur work.

As long as your network is OK then your work should still be there.

Even with phone, I can be working, exit my browser and switch off my phone and when I go back, I'll still see everything intact as long as my internet connection was okay when I opened my chrome to continue.

Another tin dat could make u lose already typed work is lack of RAM (especially on phone).

Hello bro, is there a way I can do the linking of debit and credit card with my qa account in other to start work... maybe anytime the traffic is better(the traffic is bad and the price is 2 to 4 times the previous fare) I will go to the nearest UBA to get the africard like you said.
I have created the PayPal account remaining to link it with my account but I have not gotten the African card, I have progressed to the stage where I will link my account to my qa profile... so you can see the issue is the linking stuff
I'm having problem registering on PayPal via Lesotho, they are asking series of questions...how I'm gonna scale through this question.....?

Actually, he'll have to input the PayPal address and view the training video before he'll see calls. I think as a newbie, he has a different case.
He won't see the same call as both of us.

It happens. Na because say you be fresher.
Once you don nack like 4 months on the job, you'll be doing a 21-minute call for instance, and on the 16th minute, you'll abdandon it to go and do things like watch football. It won't be like anything.

grin

I remember last week I was doing an 18min call with lots of empty timestamps.

In between, I called airtel customer care three times, went out to buy something ate my dinner and still finished on time with a 5.

I sometimes wonder if it is the same transcription that used to make me literarily sweat.
