Hi Justwise and other members in the house
Please I need help and proper advice concerning my visa application

I applied to join the British army here in Nigeria, I got an invitation letter which is to be used as supporting document for visa application. I'm booked for assessment on November..the assessment is to last for two days, but I was advised to be in the UK a week before my assessment by my recruiter

I'm currently not working, my mom is willing to sponsor my travel

As part of my application process to join the army. I'm required to have a sponsor in the UK who can accommodate me. We've reached out to a family friend whose willing to accommodate me , but all expenses for the trip is on my mom

I'll like to know what other documents I'm to attach for my visa application aside my mom's bank statement and that of my sponsor in the UK

I currently have just 214k in my account

What are my chances of getting a visa

I think your application depends on your parents status at the time of your birth and your age. If you were born before 1983 (or 1986...cant remember) then you are eligible.

I have a friend who was born in 1982 who applied for right of abode and was granted on the basis of being born in the UK at a time where every child born in the UK is a British citizen.

If your parents were British citizens at the time of your birth...then you are entitled to British citizenship too.

So if you provide a bit more info...that will help.

If you were born in 1989. Either one of your parent must be British Citizen at that time of your birth to be entitled to British Citizenship. Since your mum wasn’t, then you need to find out from your father if he was a British Citizen at the time of your birth. Your mum can provide this information. You can also find out from your mum which passport did you use to return to Nigeria. I hope this help.

U can use hotel reservation from booking dot com
Look for a hotel or hostel with free cancellation since you are not sure of your visa decision.

.... however pls make sure your reservation is valid for the period of your whole visa process...

How do I do a family appointment
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by NanaOne1: 10:48am On Sep 09, 2019
I have seen a couple of people who were refused and one thing runs through the reason. That they do not have strong ties in their home country to make them return if they are not selected during the army training.
Looking at your profile, no work or school, you need a miracle for the visa to be granted because you have close to zero ties to compel you to come back.

For Uk army assessment, already you have declared your intention of working in the UK and ECOs are aware that it is not an automatic selection during the assessment so they pay attention to you ties in your home country.

The advise I sometimes give people who want to join UK Army is to apply for a normal visitor and when you arrive you attend the two days assessment.

I never knew trend like this do exist on nsiraland. Kudos to the moderators and the participants.
This is my case:
I was previously denied visa bunch UK in 2006 and 2009 and by the US in 2017.
My current company a british/dutch oil Giant recently nominated me to travel to the UK to attend 1 week factory acceptance test for some equipment.
They gave me sponsorship letter and gave booked all my flight tickets with KLM.
I got a wrong advise from a friend not to declare my us visa refusal.
I did declared the two UK refusals.
But said no on the US refusal.
But on the day of my submission, I changed my mind and wrote a cover letter to the ECO disclosing this refusal of us visa and also attached the rejection letter along with my invitation letter to the US with my application.
Yesterday I received a mail from the UK visa processing. Center that my application have been concluded. And will soon be dispatched.
Do I stand any chance of getting the visa
I'm so scared reading the trends here.
Someone with experience should help me....
Thanks everyone, I collected my passport today. My 6 months visa was stamped, approved.

Whatever you do, you must have two separate applications not one. Two separate visa fees will be paid.
Then as for appointment. Open the two applications on different browsers and work at the same time when u want to book appointment
