If you didn't demand compensation now, I'm sure you'd demand soon

same same, you are broke!!..if you are serious, you will pay to see the accused jailed!!!.. why do you want him to pay for legal/litigation fees?

Why not? Why should she help an accused keep his own money if she believes she was wronged by him? The man will be asked to pay only if he's found culpable AND she deserves to be reimbursed. That's the way it works with the courts with this strictly civil part of case. This is not yet the criminal part of the case. If you don't ask for your legal cost(s) [for example] to be defrayed by the accused and the accused is found culpable, you get help with nothing. As has been stated over and over by the courts, the courts are not father Christmas; you get a relief only if you ask for it and deserve it.

what is the 10m for? how do you expect someone yet to been proven guilty to be liable for whatever expenses you incurred
That is the cost of the case she has to incur for taking the case to court. It is not a compensation.

It is clearly worded as the litigation fee, there's no order or demand to force Fatoyinbo to pay.

So if someone should rape your daughter 19 years ago, you won’t seek for justice.
You are one of the problems of Nigeria
if someone commits a crime years ago, he/she should be free!
The major problem of Nigeria is no accountability, no one is held accountable for anything, that’s why people think they can do anything and go scout free

19 years ago, she did not know it was rape
Not once o if you follow the story, common!!!

She did inform her family members and her brother went to the church to confront him. He was restrained by senior pastors. The same senior pastors with Fatoyinbo came to beg her parents in their house. Those pastors are still alive, it’s strange nobody in the Fatoyinbo camp has denied that. Watch the videos.

That doesn't answer the question:
How can a girl that is not mentally challenged be raped,TWICE,in HER PARENTS HOUSE?

what damages were done? the criminal case should come first then later a civil suit should be filed demanding whatever compensation.

based on what judgement is she seeking compensation?

will you seek compensation when no one has been declared guilty?

That’s for the plaintiff to present in court and that’s for the judge to decide. Based on the documents, I think she is seeking emotional damages, since she came out with her story she has gone through emotional trauma. This is a civil case so there is no burden to prove criminal intent.

Rape can be both civil and a criminal. Only the government can take a criminal case to court.
wait for the investigation and criminal case to run it course before seeking for compensation. you can't get compensation when there is no judgement. no one is guilty yet

It is common practice in the court system that an accused if found guilty can be made to pay litigation fees the accuser spent to execute the case in court. Nawa to you oo
Your response to babyfaceafrica does not hold water. Fatoyinbo has not been declared guilty so it's out of place for Busola Dakolo to make such request or am I missing something?

How about the tendering an apology to her and publicising it in several major dailies for two weeks? So, you sue a person to court and even before the case comes up for hearing, you are already praying the court to grant you prejudicial reliefs? Where does the defendant get to defend himself and have the right to fair hearing since you are asking him to apologize to you and pay for your legal fees even before the case is called for you to open your case and for him to open his defense? I'm not a lawyer but this case looks like child's play and it looks dead on arrival.

Didn’t you ask how someone can be raped twice in her parent’s house and she didn’t inform family members? To your second question, yes it is very possible for rape victims to continue to live with their rapist. Some maids are raped regularly by their bosses.

There is a civil recovery in a rape case.

MobilityExpress:

Rape is a criminal case. This is not sexual assault or smooching or fo.ndling or attempted rape. She claims there was penetration, multiple times sef.

which case is she taking to court? she reported her case. government is investigating and will file criminal charges once they are done.
her own civil case should come after the judgement. how does she expect a judge to deliver a judgement on this civil case when the main criminal case is pending? there is something called due process. why the hurry?
