I hope he's not beating his chest so early?

Anyway how much is a trip from SA to Nigeria? I feel he exaggerated.

If its free, why bore us with figures or is he expecting something in return? Concessions, future political position, patronage of the airline, compensation

He should state it categorically.

A trip from SA to Nigeria × the number of passengers + other costs. What he did is charity and it is very admirable. He is doing what the government should have done.

You should use your brain a little more.

This one just lied ,I don’t own an airline though but I feel the price has been inflated ..

Now lets do the maths since u dont seem to reason very clear always...how much is air tickect to south nd multiply by full load..

Then check cost to cabin.members cuz dey are paid per trip..its chairman's bazaar nd not their..so they are paid...

There is a landing cost in every airport in d woeld..thats how airport managemnt mk money..so he paid landing cost to berth at jo' borg.

Cost of maintainance of d aircraft for dt journey...nd d landing cost at MMA...

So tell me how much is 280 mill sef..?

The problem with most people is that they are so eager to please the world and get accepted into the bandwagon that they are afraid to speak their minds. It's a good thing that he volunteered to help evacuate our brothers in south Africa, without collecting money (as far as we know). And the beneficiaries were particularly grateful. If he's doing it out of the goodness of his heart and doesn't truly expect payment as he said I the beginning, why gloat about it when the job is not even completed? Except he's expecting some form of remuneration or acknowledgement from the government, in which case it will not be out of place to truly question his absurd claim of transporting less than 200 people from South Africa to Nigeria in just a trip with 280 million naira.

Let's learn to be objective instead of being sentimental all the time. If you buy me a 5000 naira lunch at a regular restaurant and while I'm still eating you're already telling the world that you spent over 20,000 naira to feel me, should I just remain quiet in the spirit of being grateful?

The airline doesn't ply SA. So he would definitely pay a fee

It was 640 people that was to be evacuated. That's three scheduled trips

Maybe he was estimating his gross profit if he made 3 trips with the same airplane to another international destination, which isn't wrong either

And he was expressing how he felt, if you watch the video. No-one is reimbursing him, and he isn't asking for that

If you have nothing to say, then shut it..

To and fro empty flight..
Plane registration for a route it does not fly..
Costly hours at airport for delays..
Hanger for wait period..
Scheduled 3 trips..
Maintenance and running cost for non paying fliers..

A whole govt could not even cater for its citizens in the heat of time, despite killings and murders. yet someone volunteered and here you are criticizing as if you own a plane...

Don't mind those imps. They assume it is just cslculating cost per seat. They forgot there are other charges as a results of delays, logistics, hanger fees, and other miscellanous expenses.

I don't really know why Nigerian have this evil mentality of always trying to pull others down.

I even thought it was FG that planned the trip not knowing it was private effort. @thescilian. If the man no talk, how we for take know say no be FG hsndiwork?

Kudos to onyeama abeg. Na people like una wey need. Just imagine, a govt cannot even rescue its own people. Try telling this to americsn folks

I agree with you bro. I was turned off by the figure he released afterwards. It nullifies every Good Samaritan gesture he just made! It's not a matter of complaint here. It's that of motives and intentions. BTW, it's the first time I'm seeing him in the public space. That alone speaks a lot!

lol This is impossible.

South Africa to Lagos is between N120k and N150k. For 200 passengers, it would have been N30 Million (N150k x 200) and the Airline would still have made a profit.

What did he spend N280M on?

Do first class and business class pay 120k same as you in Economy?

Fuel cost to and fro, landing fees, cargoes not carried, empty flight and free passengers, catering costs , crew costs and accommodation, navigation charges, payment to Nama, clearance fees, etc etc

What's your problem? Let him beat his chest if he likes. What has your government that collects tax payers money done to help? If the wealthy in our society act like Chief Allen Onyeama has done don't you think Nigeria will be better? This man just saved Nigerians that were stranded in a foreign land with their lives at risk.

People buy the latest cars , build big mansions and they announce it on the pages of newspapers. Why shouldn't such charitable acts be publicised? Don't you think the Air Peace Chairman's action will spur others like him into action?

This news makes me proud to be Nigerian and reinforces my belief that we still have good people in this country.

I know there's so much negativity flying around but we needn't let that becloud our sense of good judgement.
