TheSuperNerd: Comiting fouls sometimes is tactical, and I agree with that. And anyone can do so, whether the person is physical or not. So attributing a lot of fouls committed by a team as being physical is wrong. It just shows the team is undisciplined if it happens every time from that team. Ndidi commits less fouls for someone that makes a lot of tackles. That shows his disciplined side of his game. And mind you he can't get all his tackles right, as he will once in a while commit a bad one, which happened during the nation's cup. in that same nation's cup, he made a lot of tackles against Guinea that were neat. So his only tackle that went wrong was against Algeria and against Madagascar. Just two out of the numerous once he made throughout the tourney. In summary, committing fouls by a team doesn't mean the team is physical, infact, it shows the opposite. It means that they can't out muscle their opponents. The only way for them to level the playing field is by committing fouls against a physically stronger opponent to limit them. We've seen European teams do that a lot against African sides in a way of tactics 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: Nice article. I think this is the most important point and what has held us back from soaring. It is time for Rohr to let go of the brakes and throttle the team with full force. We can be an explosive side if we are trained to play with bravery constantly. 3 Likes 1 Share |

somehow: Out of how many? We conceded a lot of free kicks in the tourney, it was just unfortunate that the ones that we defended badly was the ones caused by Ndidi. So no dey talk as if he was the cause. 1 Like 1 Share |

TheSuperNerd: Very good point...I like ur last paragraph,d likes of timay and earthquake1 won't c dis....if it were to b etebo dt made dis similar mistake,na war e go b for this thread..once u re in d favorite books on dis thread,no matter what u do,u re good to go eida its bad or not...ndidi cost us dt semi final game..u heard it from me first.. Yes he cost us dt game(an experience player of his caliber making mumu tackle like an npfl player, sorry o basco )...same guy cos d freekick resulting to Madagascar second goal, also deflected d goal(fine dis re human errors in football wc can happen to any player;but ndidi hasn't contribute much to eagles play same as he does in Leicester.. So I c no reason y he can't b benched; |

elyte89: You are correct about the Algerian goal but not about Madagascar. I can not blame him for that. That said, Ndidi still had better defensive stats, tackles, interceptions and clearances than Etebo in the midfield in the WC and in the nations cup. That is why i say, he will protect the defence more. In the WC, Etebo had an average of 5 dribbles per game. What are we doing with 5 dribbles when you are not Okocha. People hail him for that but what attack did those dribbles start?? 1 Like |

tbaba1234: Same way I will ask you...what exactly has d blocks from ndidi led to in our attacks..has he ever orchestrated any attack b4 dt led to a goal..please mention one? Cos going back to d afcon..d recent tournament played, ndidi had no direct impact in d goals scored even though its not his primary assignment... D first goal was assisted by aina,d second match against Guinea was assisted by simon scored by omeruo, same as d Cameroonian game, ndidi had no hand in it against d southies, same thing, against Algeria, it was etebos wide shot dt hit d Algerian defender led to our equalizer b4 ndidi cost us d match with his unprofessional rash tackle and to cap it all..he has zero goals for eagles,no b say na like oliseh dt bail us out when d chips re down So abeg all dis defensive stat by ndidi is a norm,is it me dt would block, he was called upon to do it,same as etebo,so in a nutshell, both av contributed well to d teams growth. its not as if ndidis' contribution has led to all d success we av achieved so far 1 Like |

elyte89: We all know what Ndidi is renowned for and that is protecting the defense. He does that very well. Etebo is originally a more offensive player so both players are different in that regard. The absence of Ndidi made our defense very vulnerable against Ukraine. Ndidi will not score many goals but if he does his job, he is one of the best in the world. Etebo is also valuable and hardworking but defensively Ndidi is better. If i am to choose one to play DM, Ndidi is an easy choice. 1. He defends better 2. More positional discipline 3. Does not hold on to the ball for long 3 Likes |

Lol... elyte calm down. Ndidi is one of my top favorites in the GWG but I just have to point out that instance to be balanced. But you ehn... lol... anyway, you wanting Ndidi to be sacrificed and not Etebo and another wanting Etebo sacrificed and not Ndidi in the SE first XI all boils down to which of them will play and interpret brilliantly the role they are assigned in a midfield three alongside Iwobi and Aribo... time will tell. elyte89: 3 Likes |

Hey man, i sincerely hope your comment was a joke. Are you @GoodJoe's lackey or something. Lecture me on what? Careful ooo. You may want to present your own argument, i am not even sure you adequately understand it. I even tried to check the word "Power play" to be sure i am not misunderstanding him. Power play does not in any way apply to football. When the discussion drifts towards Ice hockey, Cricket or Netball, perhaps i will "prostrate" before your lecturer. komekn: 1 Like |
