A Twitter user, Katoma, had told Nigerian music star David Adeleke, alias Davido, to learn how to write his songs by himself instead of engaging the services of song writers, Igbere TV reports.

This was after Davido revealed that one of his favorite songs on his upcoming album was co-written by another artist, Adekunle Gold.

“One of my favorite songs on my upcoming album was Co written by @adekunleGOLD !!! Thanks for your touch on this ! God bless you brother #Agoodtime”, he wrote.

When told to learn how to write his songs by himself, Davido replied the Twitter user saying; “Maybe more artist should learn to tell the truth”, indirectly implying that most artist buy scripts too, but lie about it.

But another user snapped back at Davido, saying; “Ode that was a simple talk but instead you turn am to hate probably why they don't like you.”

Replying the user, yet again in a tweet sighted by Igbere TV, Davido said; “Who is they ?? Ur on ur own o”.

Most musicians have song writers it's just the nature of the game. But I do wonder why the song writers don't just sing the songs they write and seek out sponsors to promote it. Ed Sheeran used to write songs for Tailor swift, Justin Bieber, One Direction, Hilary Duff and many others until he started singing his own songs. His song "Shape of You" is easily one of the highest watched videos on YouTube, and most of his songs top billboards worldwide

That guy know nothing about music and talent, majority of the successful artist don’t write their songs, very few do. Most artist abroad who drop hit songs own there writers to the extent they don’t write for others without their permission. Only Rap and country side musicians can claim to have written their songs because majority reflects on reality and what is happening within that time.

Most artists don't write their songs by themselves. Justin Beiber hardly writes his own songs yet he has won almost everything a singer should win.
I was surprised when Sinach, Joe Praise and Frank Edwards brought out one small boy from the congregation one day and said the boy is their song writer Lol

Maybe ab-initio Davido did not give the writers their credits (on the album) . Maybe

Cos artistes can even be sued by writers/contributors for not giving them their credits on a song (for Western world o not here, in Naija they only rant on HipTv or are belittled like black face)

It's no news , they are songs writer everywhere . The fan is just dumb. Not all artists write song

The issue of song writing in Nigeria is baseless. Many people write for the likes of beyonce, Rihanna and others. It should not be a crime here well maybe it is because song writers don't get the credits deserved
