Co-founder and chief executive officer of BudgIT, a budget watchdog, Oluseun Onigbinde, has been appointed into the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV reports that news of Mr Onigbinde’s appointment as technical adviser (budget and planning) under the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning broke on Friday.

Onigbinde is known to have been vocal in his criticism of Buhari’s administration.

In 2014, Onigbinde made the list of finalists for the Young Business Leader of the Year Award of CNBC Africa.

Others who made the list included Seth Akumani (Ghana) and Christian Ngan (Cameroon).

Time for Seun to walk the talk. Time to enthrone vital reforms he has been passionately advocating in government budget planning, implementation and monitoring.

Kudos to President Buhari and VP Osinbajo.

Let's give Seun benefit of the doubt. Let's give him a chance to help his fatherland. Nigeria can't make much progress if people are demonized for accepting to implement what they have been passionately preaching. Las las it is only Nigerians that will make trully Nigeria a better place.

Once said it here when commenting about Sowore. There are about four ways to get into political relevance in Nigeria;

- By being a core critic of a government and act as if you dont believe in it. A Case of Femi Adesina.

- Be a boy boy to a respected and ever-known-to-be-rewarding leader- case of Tinubu to his acolytes..

- Or fight your way up with good educational background then try to let the government notice you.

And lastly
- have a lot of money to subvent and to be deliberative either in form or sociopathic or a financial.

Most critics in Nigeria, after Gani Fawehinmi, are self aggrandized and own-pockets rooted.

Come on, Seun Onigbinde did not commit mass murder. He just accepted to help move Nigeria forward. Of what use is any criticism if it does not impact positively on the society.

It was beyond criticism. How do you go beyond criticism to cast terrible aspersion on other people just because they don't agree with you? How do you call people "closet bigot" and ethnic jingoists" just because they made A CHOICE? Why do you insult people just because they voted Buhari? Let me tell you how I see a person who does that, a slowpoke.

I don't begrudge Seun Onigbinde for getting the job; if he's the best man for the job, then by all means he should get it? The other thing I don't get is Seun's lack of HONOUR. Less than 12months ago he swore to the high heavens he will never take a Buhari-govt appointment. He'd denigrated govt a lot of times and "barked" at people who called him to order. Now what kind of a man "transforms" from that to being an appointee? We've blamed old politicians in the past for criss-crossing and no ideology.... how is Seun any different? How is Seun any different from FFK whom OBJ surmised as - "give him food.....and he will sing for you"?

I wish in God's speed in "helping move Nigeria forward".......

However, the way I see it is that if Buhari himself could sacrifice his personal ego as the primary 'victim' of Seun Onigbinde's caustic criticisms to bring him on board to use his expertise, then the complementary thing for me to do as a Buhari supporter is to support the big picture he is painting.
