50%, well never say never. What will really decide is what their Q3 says. I mean UBA / Access.

Yes. When Q3 comes out in about a month's time, you will see movement in these banking stocks. We already have an idea of what their results will look like (I mean the likes of UBA, Access, Zenith, Guaranty). When was the last time these ones threw in a bad result. As long as the results suggests they can maintain, at least, last year dividend, it's fine.

Between now and Q3 results is an opportunity to key into cheap stocks before they depart.

Veritas is stressless, I think they are the benchmark of registrar services in Nigeria.

My experience with them was second to none in term of service delivery.
I am of the opinion that they haven't changed the quality of their service.

With the look of things, the way Donald Trump is destabilizing world politics and economics , it will be difficult for anyone to predict or forecast that NSE and other emerging economy will witness a sustainable bull soon.
Investors like Warren Buffett and Agbalowomeri are keeping cash pile, waiting for Donald Trump (US) and Bubu (Nigeria) to complete their tenure respectively.
NSE might struggle to witness a real and sustainable bull.
Historically, the Sin Stocks were doing well, now bubu made it a triple offense for alcohol users in Nigeria.
The breweries are paying exorbitant taxes, not just exaggerated excise duties on alcohol.
It is difficult for the breweries to break even in the face of difficult operating terrain and harsh government policies.
This could be liken with Trump Trade war Tarriff on China exports to the US.
Lets see what bubu economy team will offer us by November /December the month Agbalowomeri is returning back to the Nigeria bourse. LoL...
Unfortunately, the breweries can not retaliate the investors suffer the brunt.

Suddenly, those of us who were busy cherry-picking and accumulating juicy stocks with mouth-watering dividend yields at give-away discounts when the market appeared endlessly stagnant now look like geniuses.
Keeping it simple does it.
It's not rocket science after all.

What is CBN trying to achieve with this? First is was proposed increase in VAT. Looks like the country is broke and the govt is now looking for every means to earn money.

These new charges, are they revenue for government or income for the banks?

These people just have brains turn upside down. You are trying to improve inclusion in banking, now you want to charge for cash deposits. What happens to the petty traders and other businesses you want to convince to bank? Nigerian economy is still largely driven by cash so people will just return to their mattress Lol

Sometimes I wonder if this people think at all. At the end traders in our markets will resort to keeping their money in their shops or houses.

Only God knows what is actually wrong with our policy makers. At the end of their sitting and when giving policy I do wonder how many people formulate the so called policy. What I do hear since when I was young has been two heads are better better than one but in Nigeria reverse is the case. What is the essence of having various committees in almost every office but at the end fail the nation. Can Emiefele afford to lose 30000 on every 1000000 as a banker?

It's all part of the recent policies geared towards a cashless economy. However, I see it as attempt to want to do the RIGHT thing at the WRONG time.
A cashless economy is good, but in practice(not mere theory) it doesn't really exist.
What most developed and devoloping economies do is work to tap from the benefits by continually adjusting their system and structures.
The problem is that Nigeria is not ready for it yet. ...the structure to allow for an effective implementation is just not there.
A lot of policy tweaks and twist would need to be put in place if this would drive for more merits than demerits.
1st off, I think we have to create a business friendly environment.(Nigeria is clearly not) ...then work on our fiscal and economic policy ends to drive down bearing risk and encourage digital inclusiveness.

Even then, we will still need to start from somewhere.
U can not desire for a cashless economy, when in practice, ur barely managing to be cash-lite one.
What we need is a more expanded inclusive cash-lite policy... then we can gradually spread our tentacles towards been cashless by putting the right systems and structures in place.

...my take.

I do not think the long term gains will come, if the system and structures needed to 'breed it' is not there.
Short term pains can ONLY lead to long term gains where the right system(the mechanism that can drive the positive change over time) is already in place.

Salah.
