@anjie

1. was born before 1992 too. though I lost my local govt birth cert , but i presented attestation of birth and deceleration of age.(you should take photocopies along with you) which I did in Adamawa in 2011 @ less than 3k. So in not sure if they will accept the local govt birth cert, maybe someone else can help here

1b- Yes I heard so too

2. Don't know what affidavit of birth means.
If you mean court affidavit to swear your age, then I don't think its needed because the declaration of age will also be from the federal high court and should serve same purpose.

3. Did mine at 10k ( though I knew someone who helped with it) heard should be about 4 to 6k if you walk in yourself ( Not sure though)

4. Don't think the spinsterhood certificate is compulsory and I read somewhere its about 20k. You will still need to sign a form of visa revoke at the embassy if they find out you are married after issuing the visa.

Hello All …. I am following this trend for a while and need those very vast in K1 visa to give an honest opinion:

I am 35 yrs old( never married, no kids) and I met my finance (52) online, he's a Nigerian but an American Citizen. We are both Accountants by profession and he works for the US Govt.He has never been married but has 3 adult kids from an American Lady he never married. We have been chatting, video calling, emails for the past 3 months. He plans to come to Nigeria in January 2020 for us to meet physically and build a stronger relationship. And also to enable him initiate the K1 visa process upon return. He wanted me to come down and visit before then, but I declined that option because of the high rate of US B1/B2 refusal and I just started a new job. I have initially been to the US in 2014 for a job related training on my very first US visa attempt so I like to keep that clean travelling track record. Since then, I have also been to Ghana for another job in 2018.

M question is as follows:
1) Is the relationship too young or too presumptuous to apply for a K1 Visa? Or Would my chances be better or stronger going the route of a spousal visa.
2) Do I have a strong case to prove genuineness of the relationship? or what do you think will strengthen the relationship for VO approval.

abisolaarshow:
Hello, I just got an approval today thank God.
Thanks to everyone on this thread especially @legit bachelor ,I wish every other applicant the best in their coming interviews.

Questions:

who petitioned for you
When did you meet
How did you meet
How long did he stay when he came to Nigeria
Have you ever been married
Do you have any kids
Has your fiance been married
Does he have any kids
How old is his daughter
What does he do for a living
What do you do for a living
When do you plan to get married
Why aren't you getting married in Nigeria.

And then he said he has every reason to grant me the visa and I was told to pick up my visa in 1-2 weeks.

Please, How soon did you guys get your visas after the interview cos I need to buy the ticket ASAP.

Also my medical report was not returned is that OK?

Hello dear,

Please how did you respond to the last question?

The expiration date is November 15 or so and right now my fiancé sent a message to the embassy and they said they did not receive it and NVC said they have sent it.
I also tracked it on ceac and it shows ready for interview and they kept updating it everyday.
This is really confusing and my fiancé is really worried too. Is it possible that it misses in transit or what do you think could actually be the issue after it even shows online that it is ready for interview.
Dunno what is really going on

Resend the email with your case number as subject, both of you guys date of birth too and let them know the case is ready. Act fast.

Had a lot of ish , but finally sailed through, it's been God's grace all along. Hopefully my interview would be a success.

@abisolaarshow, Big Congrats to you.

My interview is fixed for next month, I have some few questions please.....

1a. I was born before 1992 and I have with me, local government birth certificate. Would I need to get the NPC birth certificate at surulere? If yes, how much does it cost.
- You need to get a birth attestation.
- Affidavit of birth is required to get the birth attestation from NPC.

1b. I also read somewhere that they don't give NPC birth certificate to those born before 1992, only birth attestation, please enlighten me on these.
- Yes that is true.
- All you need is affidavit of declaration of Age
from a court then take it to NPC to process the birth attestation.
- Then your birth attestation from NPC.
You can get somone that can do all these for you @ NPC complex.

2. Would I be needing affidavit of birth?lost on this discussion in d previous threads.
- no just get the items listed above

3. The police report goes for how much at alagbon, please?
- Between 5 to 8k
4. Where can I get the spinsterhood certificate? And how much ?
- is that required?

Pls guys help a sister!!! .
@glorioussugar @abisolaarshow @legitbachelor

More inputs from everyone are welcome

Thanks in addy!!!

- it is in order... As long as there is a proof that you seen within a 2 year period. So his planned visit next year validates that.

2) Do I have a strong case to prove genuineness of the relationship? or what do you think will strengthen the relationship for VO approval.

- Just make sure you don't delete your records with him... Chats, video calls, text messages e.t.c
- You guys should snap pictures especially, during outings..

Someone also advised that I fill the DS 160 form. That it is after I do that they will reach out to me.
Is that necessary at this point?

Lol no, You have to send the email to the immigration unit. And if your case is at the embassy, you should fill your ds-160 right away and schedule your interview date ASAP.

Have you visited the US Embassy website?

Here is the link: https://de.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/

They also provided a means of contacting them and it's not via email. So perhaps you were contacting the wrong department. Go through the link I provided thoroughly. It should guide you accordingly.

I just got my work permit and travel authorization after 4 months of waiting! Well, I give praise to God that I've finally gotten it.

The next step is to go back to the Social Adminstration guys and change my Social Security Card. The next step is to start work wink

Hello everyone. I’m new on this thread. Been here for a couple of months now.
Specifically for those already here, I just want to know how you guys have been coping. Staying at home doing nothing is beginning to take it’s toll on me. How are you guys doing it? These days I get angry over the tiniest things. I don’t even have a business idea. I just need to do something. Help please

Many thanks.

Please where did you do your affidavit of bachelorhood? Kindly suggest which court to go to.

It is most likely I get the affidavit of birth from where you will suggest.

Any idea on the cost for the two, please.

Thanks much once again.

Oh from my understanding of the above, I will need the declaration of age first and that is what NPC guys will use to issue the attestation of birth.

So this means I will to get to the federal high court in ikoyi then come back to surulere to get the NPC attestation of birth. Right?

I want to do four because we have done our introduction, n not engagement because no bride price was paid. Just trying to b prepared.

So I would just get the certificate of spinsterhood from the same federal high court.

Many thanks .
