It is quite unfortunate that our society has become egocentric and sociocentric to a fault that a 95% percent of Nigerians do not know what to do with information, they do not take into cognisance the benefits of information, rather they'd just follow the crowd to criticize even when they lack the proper understanding.

As for me and the rest sensible 5%, having carried out a true research, especially on the theme of the UNGA, then we are satisfied with the President's response.

I just hope people can one day begin to think for themselves, not following what mischief makers like Reno Omokiri say blindly.

And let me say I'm somewhat disappointed in people who have always believed in this government yet they kept quiet simply because they refused to make a good research and left themselves in the open to be intimidated by the dumb clout chasers.

Perhaps you do not understand the reason for my standpoint. As of 2017, Nigeria's total emissions were 0.67% of Global total emission with a population of 180M+ that is very low. That implies we have a grossly under-developed manufacturing sector which is very crucial to the diversification of the economy and provision of the much-needed jobs for the populace.

So my position is that we do not need to bother climate change right now. Focus on the ECONOMY. Leave the China, America and EU to Climate Change.

That's where you miss it.
This is why Africa is like this. We only think about now, and care less about the future. If someone told our fathers about population control back then when they marry multiple wives and reproduce, they will say they don't care. But see the effect today.

Climate change is why several people from the upper north are migrating down south. It's why the weather is changing now and more floods are being recorded. You want several industries to be built so there are jobs for the youth, but you don't want us to talk about the impact on our health and that of future generation
