Says who?

Oh, I know, good ol' sheet spec.

Let me burst the myth of this battery sef.

Now, one of the most revered Xiaomi phones even on this thread and the whole cyberspace is redmi note 7.

Everybody that owns it have got nice things to say about it. Even madgoat that was initially critical and skeptical about it came to love it so much.

One of the major highlights of the phone is the battery. It's not uncommon to see users post SOT of more than 24 hours here and people have described the battery as a beast.

The RN7 is xiaomi's best selling device of the year so far and comes with a 4000 mAh battery.

Now, as beastly as the battery of the RN7 is, do you know that in a standard battery test, the mi 9 SE easily beats it? And not just by margins! By almost 2 hours. You can watch the test by Frankie tech on YouTube.

I understand that the best efforts of the mi 9 SE might still not be enough for some users. If you are truly limited by budget, then Ivan suggest the mi 9 lite as an alternative as it comes with more than 4000mah of battery.

More more confusion...ok do I just add 16k to my 100k and go for mi9t or wait for RN8.

Ordered Redmi 7 for my Infinix friend... Arrived yesterday after 15 days. He's absolutely loving it.
Personally noted a few things tho during unboxing (which I made sure my fairly noob friend didn't notice, to avoid dampening his joy). I use Redmi Note 5pro, and I can confidently say RN5pro is a better phone, both in display and support, having felt both phones. I'm not a fan of notch which happens to be the only design feature missing in RN5 but present in R7. Both phones have same camera pixels, but RN5 produces sharper images... And some other slight differences like absence of front flash & notification light in R7. RN7 has software advantage tho - comes with pie OS out of the box. RN5 - Oreo.
I hope this info will be helpful in the future for prospective Xiaomites who may find theirselves torn between RN5pro and R7.
Very sharp and crisp picture u got there. Did you take that with the note 5 pro?

I never said I have anything against anyone buy Redmi Note 8 pro. The other day not here though I was telling someone how powerful the processor was and how it took the SD 712 on the Realme XT to the cleaners in speed test

I didn't say you did... just pointing out that there are people it may be best for... not only 712 bro... watched two videos of it against mi9t's SD 730 and it won both times

I hope we haven't forgotten that the Redmi note series are higher than the Redmi series? The note series even older ones pack superior hardwares especially with display. There's no Redmi series with full HD display save for the abandoned Redmi 4 prime ( looking at fibonacci2526 tongue). As for camera, even the Redmi note 4x can hold its own against the Redmi 7 both on gcam). As someone already stated, theirs a tiny notification light underneath the phone, you won't see it if you already installed any tampered glass with black borders. For support, the note series naturally get better treatment, no surprises here.

Get the Mi 9T and have rest of mind, no need to wait unless you are on a budget, it's a superior device in every way.

The MI 9t is actually 97k on aliexpress only that it's the 64gb variant. If you can squeeze out an extra 19k, you can get the 128gb variant and also at your convenience as it is readily available in Nigeria. But if 100k is your Max, the Mi 9 se is up to the task trust me.

You returned it or you get to keep the phone after winning dispute?

AliExpress actually stepped in and gave the judgement so I Kept the phone too. They wanted me to return it for a full refund or a lesser amount to keep the phone. But it's a win for me cos it's only about 20usd off the original price I bought it.

Are you for real?!

I speak out of experience too sha coz I used the mtk version of the Note 3 that year

True story (you can search for it online), I can only imagine how users waited endlessly for proper support from Xiaomi, which never came. Although there are custom ROMs available for the Redmi note 2, those ROMs are ridden with bugs. Also, the phone has its own "special issues".

The Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro are the same na!

Redmi Note 5 Pro = Indian Version
Redmi Note 5 China/Global Version

The above mentioned is the same

BUT

Redmi Note 5 Indian Version is same as Redmi 5 Plus.

After installing Gcam for Redmi 7, is there any other settings needed? I'm unimpressed with shots taken with the gcam cos my Redmi 5 plus Gcam shots looks more impressive, the Redmi 7 is for a friend

Use your stock camera. Its very okay on the R7. You can increase the saturation on your stock camera a bit.

R7 any day any time angry
Forget the camera comparison; it depends on your photographic skills. You are probably just used to your R5pro fone.

I swear the battery shocks me ..

As one that uses phone heavy .. always on 4g and data is never off.. the phone surprisingly stays longer that expected ..

What's more ? It charges fast ..
So far so good. I am enjoying mi 9se

Hello all, been a while.. Pls i enabled authorization for updates today and saw Miui 10 9.6.27 global beta rom update for Android pie(which i am downloading now) .. I wasnt aware that xiaomi had stopped beta roms for all its phones.
.
.
This update is said to be the last beta rom. My question is, after this update is done what would happen? Will i get a new update for global stable rom after this? I am not ready to risk bricking my device in a bid to switch from beta to stable rom. Pls anyone who has been on global beta rom should help me out here..I have been out of touch with xiaomi related news for a while, this new development is still surprising to me.

I agree. I've never been really interested in Redmi series. My friend asked me to order it for him, so naturally my interest peaked when I got the phone. Had to compare. The Note series is without doubt more superior.
