One the loans were not meant to be given as funds but in form of funding critical projects. Then also diversifying the economy is the major battle cry of this government,so how soludo will help to achieve this is what remain to be seen.

You are not just taking the job. You are crossing to APC.

One thing to set up a committee, another thing is to listen to then.

Abacha still holds the record of bringing bright minds together for brainstorming.

Abacha ke? Are you living under a rock. I was in Unilag when Abacha seized power and serving when he kicked the bucket.

Obasanjo and Jonathan probably hold the records but only OBJ actually utilised their advice the most.

There you have it folks, one of the root causes of our problem in this country.

Besides what soludo said, I believe the caller said what he said because Soludo accepting such an appointment could potentially poke holes at the usual sing song of those who despise the government of the day (MARGINALIZATION).

We have an huge problem in this country. Too many evil men desperately working day and night to ensure there exists no peace in Nigeria.

By God, they will all fail!
What do u mean.

Even this igbo man that called the prof knows buhari doesn't dish out money lavishly as everything must be accounted for. The man actually called to discredit buhari but unconsciously uncovered some facts.

Yet some social media goats prefer telling themselves lies and believing same about some imaginary cabals packing Nigerian's money in aso rock.

A clown up there is already screaming "but money available for cabals", lol. Are these not the same people shouting up and down the other time that buhari gave the chairmanship of this committee to his brother or close ally? So he gave his brother/ally such a "lucrative" position, yet deny it funding. Meanwhile, the igbo man called to simply intimate the prof that, hmm, this man no dey throwey money anyhow o, so take a decision. cheesy
Fela sang "CBB- Confusion break bone".
The same clowns dt shout "don't take it", "its a taboo" will still shout "marginalizion", "he has abandoned us" tmr.

I know so many handles on Nairaland that urged him to reject the appointment simply because he was not made the chairman of the committee. We still have a long way to go in Nigeria.

You did mention that Buhari is running a Contractionary Economic policy yet you still claim there is Liquidity Trap. Liquidity Trap occurs when the rise in the supply of money is accompanied by the corresponding rise in interest rate. Contractionary policy can't give rise to increase in money supply, so we can't possibly be talking about Liquidity Trap under Contractionary.
Go and read your Macroeconomic literature better Sir. When there is liquidity trap, exchange rate is low and people prefer to hold cash instead of investing or spending it and that ultimately leads to a shortfall in the velocity of money (in circulation). See Keynessian model.

Great idea by PMB To move the country economy forward. The first LADY would have be a good pick, she has wealth of expirience. But will the delvish cabels currently enjoying fuel subsidies, IDP as ATM machines and BOKO HARAM to access security FUNDS allows such policies to see the light of the day Or jusj another rubber stamp?! I have always known u to be fearless and upright but u were right in saying that in 20years time it will be very hard to market our oil. Many countries in the world are diversifying into the new oil, that is, solar vehicle, solar machines, inbuilt solar houses, solar refrigerators, solar tv and solar roads.

Sadly,we are being ruled by idiots and illiterates that forget to think for the future and not just about now. No wonder President Trump called Africa a shithole.
Refusal to think for the future is a recipe for a looming disaster.
A time shall come, even the federal govt will have to borrow to pay wages and states will have no bank or fed govt to bail them.

That is exactly what Venezuela is going through.
They used to be the richest Latin American country in the world...but we can see how it's been with them lately.

Let our leaders learn from all this aforementioned malaise.

Soludo, Nigerian best Economist alive. This man is economically sound. As a Development Economist, I have reservations about someone like Soludo making great impact in Buhari's government. Soludo is an expansionary Economist, whereas Buhari believes in contractionary economic policies. What Nigeria needs now is "Soludo Model" in order to keep the economy in liquidity and ultimately achieve rapid growth in the real sector of the economy. There is liquidity trap in the country, which has contributed to stagnation in the real sector. For us to redeem the country and its citizens from the vicious circle of poverty, we need heavy investment in social overhead capital through lopsided economic model, in that, the economy will diversify itself naturally. When business environment becomes conducive, small and medium scale enterprises will thrive, income of the people will increase, leading to high standard of living.

This is the problem I have when people talk like this....

Their task is more like paper over cracks just to create a feel good factor and say the FG is now listening to the people

Why take a job off Buhari who is deaf, clueless and inept......he won’t ever listen to that committee

Just watch the EAC fall apart in a years time

Clash of egos and ideas as well

Soludo is not even Chairman or Vice Chairman so I wonder why he’s already talking

The collaborative effort I assume you are calling for cannot be achieved under a skewed socio-political economic system of government. I see no redemption whatsoever for this country no matter who is there if the nagging fundamental issues are not addressed first!
