They keep mentioning it, giving link and even showing you screenshot from the state government website and you're pretending you're not seeing it.

How many places have you been to Akwa-Ibom?

Earlier when the European came to West Africa, they refer to us as ''Iboe'' and refer to the Akwai-Ibom people as ''Qua Iboe'' because of the close similarities.
Akwa-Ibom got its' name from QUA IBOE

Thank you. Qua means, 'just like' or 'similar to' or 'in the same capacity as' and Qua Iboe means 'Just like the Iboes', and this was because of the observed cultural similarity between the Ibo and Ibibio. In fact, the British observed that asides from the differences in language, the Ibo and Ibibio were mostly the same in all cultural ramifications.

A church still exists in Calabar called, Qua Ibo church.

Calm down. Ikwerre is Igbo. Mind you I am not even Igbo. But there is no difference between Ikwerre and Igbo. Same thing. Even your name umuna is 100% Igbo and you are hearing making noise. Get sense now.

All of them understand Igbo as their second language.

The igalas i know in agulari may be settlers but the point is that we have igalas who are indiginous to Anambra. Atleast we both agree that Nzam folks speak igala and they are part of omambala..

Surprised you guys didn't notice the obvious distortion in how the name Anambra came about. Which one be Anam branch?

By the way i am from Oyi LGA and i speak and understand igala even as an Igbo man!

How did you learn Igala?

I pity who will take your write up serious

you just listed igala as a major language in Anambra. you even wrote it before Igbo.

listed ikwerre as a separate language from Igbo in Rivers. listed ika and ukwuani which are essentially Igbo dialects as separate from " Delta Igbo" but failed to note that egun is spoken in lagos. Also untonkon is a town in Benue not a language , their language is Igbo. The problem is that Nigerians grope proudly in institutionalized ignorance

And you who has created so many intellectual long-form writing for public consumption. What are you wallowing in my sir?

Even Official textbooks sold for curricula courses in schools do contain errors and maybe even some misinformations. That's amongst why textbook publishers and authors release Edited versions of these materials periodically.

obiekunie2:

why are you even wasting your time with all these narratives - as if u dont know its a calculated plan to make the igbo language a minority language.

you should av noticed how he added igala to anambra state and even put it first as if they are the dominant language.

aside from that, you should av noticed how he did his very best to exclude igbo language from the entire south-south.

ndi uchu!

Maybe you just point his error(s) out and refer him to official (if available) sources to back your claim(s).

There is NOWHERE in Benue state where Igbo is predominantly spoken. You guys should stop spreading inaccurate information.

You have a good number of them as traders in Otukpo, Makurdi, Gboko and parts of Gwer East. They arent indigenous to any part of Benue state.

Is Fulani indigenous to any part of Nigeria?

Having states with artificial boundaries is common to all the states and not peculiar to Benue. It means that there might also areas that are supposed to culturally be part of Benue but have been included in Eboyin (being the newer state). Also, the areas in contention may perhaps, actually be indigenous to Benue but have igbo settlers as we have in many parts of the country.
Listen and listen good, in the case of those Igbos in benue there's nothing like modern migration and settlement because the place is their ancestral home, they've been living there as long as other tribes that constitute the present Benue state.
They're just unfortunate to be calved into a state in which they're homogeneous with others.

It is either you’re it or you’re not it. A French man would understand Canadian French, and vice-versa. But the both are not called French men even by tribe and not by nation. A Swiss German has a higher chance of understanding German than a German the chance of understanding Swiss German. Even when there’s “German” in “Swiss German,” you dare not called a Swiss “German.”

All this cultural stupidity we’re practicing won’t work. If you cannot understand a language, you can’t understand it! Ask the Itsekiris and the Yorubas. This is just a ploy by the Igbo people to claim different communities. All Deltans, I repeat all Deltans part from Asaba indigenes will never agree to be Igbo natives. If you want, you can put their head in a guillotine, they’ll still reject being Igbo men. In the North, I clearly can’t differentiate Fulani from Hausa language, I mix them up sometimes. The fact that they’re alike doesn’t mean that they’re the same. Just accept the fact that Ibo is Ibo, Ika is Ika, and Urhobo is Urhobo, and we’ll all have peace. The term dialect means “a variety of language differentiated by vocabulary and pronunciation, but grouped under one language for emphasis.” If we were to go by this definition, then the three languages in Nigeria are just names and they hold no ground. Thus, if one tribe doesn’t wish to be grouped under the same “language” as another for the white man’s sake, then they’re free to be called what they want.

After all, Nigeria was divided into three different languages due to the white man’s greed. Grade 2 history would tell you that.

grin Pardon any error found within the argument.
Your German analogy is wrong.. Whether in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, even in Northern Italy.. They are all referred to as "Ethnic Germans". Even within Germany, there are different dialects which were originally unintelligible, even up till today, e.g Bavarian.

Nationality can differ, politics, religion can differ but one thing they all cannot deny is their Germaness...
Although Germany as a country out of pride named themselves "Germany" to rub it in, but they are not the only ethnic Germans in Europe.

the indigenous Igbo population in Benue is not insignificant. it is considerable. a lot of idoma are also bilingual, speaking Igbo as a second language.
