Am starting this thread to support and educate mothers who have gone through c section. Its All about c section before, during and after. instead of judging women who wants a c section, why not listen. C section is not and would never be a death warrant .baby alive and mother alive that's all that matters. contributions from other mums would be appreciated. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Sure. The mother and the baby's health is more paramount. Who thinks like that again these days? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Trust me some persons do. my cousin gave birth through c section and was so scared what people would say. Eventually it became known to some persons and she was termed a lazy woman who could not push. But you know what ?am proud of my scar. 2 Likes |

Honeysweetest this would help to seek out other moms who also had C-sections and talk to them about their experiences. There are loads of us. but some are just ashamed to say it out. 1 Like |

peggygee:people are ooo, especially when the word natural/normal delivery is used to describe vagina birth, I also think CS should be called natural/normal delivery too via C's. 1 Like 1 Share |

A friend had CS, hid it from people like its a death warrant. She doesn't want anyone to know she had her baby via CS. It's so annoying. I told everyone I had my DS through CS. Yes, my belle is big but I'm happy and safe. 4 Likes |

I have had 3 C sections. The first 16yrs ago and the last almost 8yrs now. I remember my first booking, i cried like i was going to die and it was because people made it look like it was a very big deal and it didnt matter that it was to save me and my unborn child then! Nowadays, i am still amazed that people still see CS like a taboo. 4 Likes 1 Share |

[quote author=Honeysweetest post=82749510]what do we need to know on CS? do you think people go for it out of necessity,or a choice? As for me i feel some women choose to have a C-section if they want to plan when they would deliver or if they previously had a complicated vaginal delivery. My first c section wasn't planned though. I had to undergo a c section because labour was not coming forth. |

I have a family friend who was advised by her doctor to undergo a c section for her second baby. she refused because she said she wanted the Hebrew women type of birth. I wonder how they knew vaginal delivery was the Hebrew women kind of birth .after 24 hours of trying, the baby was forced out I wonder if they dragged her hands in the process of bringing her out. till date that hand is disfigured. C section is not a death warrant. Can I increase the volume ? 4 Likes |

Okay. Let me drop this here so it helps someone out there viewing this thread. I've had 2 cs. First : Oct 2017 Second : Dec 2018. First experience. I dilated till 10cm and was pushing for what seemed like forever. I was already begging the nurses to bring out my baby however it takes. I didn't mind whether it was by suction, cs or anything to ease me from the excruciating pains I was going through. I cried. Hit my hands on the wall with heavy blows. Stretched my legs out like it would fall off (that leg did not remain the same for months, I couldn't walk well with it, felt like it removed from my ball and socket joint). Oh God, how I begged to be relieved from that state (God, you're wonderful, hurray to every mother out there). Fee minutes later, the doc entered and asked why I was bleeding so much. Note: Baby had already engaged, they were seeing her head already. It was just to push her out remaining. Immediately, he said cs. All I wanted was to see myself in the theatre and he should just remove the baby anyhow he could. Or better still, he should tear me there gangan and relieve me of this pain. Alas, he finished the paperwork and everything in what seemed like forever and I was taking to the theatre. I was shouting to be injected with whatever it is they give people o. Just give it to me, at least, I wouldn't feel this pain again. I woke up some hours later.. ME : where's my baby? Mum : She's fine, they're taking care of her. ME : Drifted off again as the aneasthsia hasn't weared off completely. Some minutes or hours later, I don't know.. ME : where's my baby? Mum : She's fine. They're taking care of her. I drifted off again. I didn't know for how long. Later.. ME : Did my baby make it? Aunt : No, she nodded her head. I lost her on the 28th of October, 2017. I'll write the second experience later. 2 Likes 1 Share |

wonderful thread maams! This thread will grow and never die. let me share my own experience. i have my first baby through vagina delivery April 2018 but unfortunately i lost d baby. i had prolonged labour and also borderline pelvic. doc said cs but i refused. he was forced out through vagina and i lost him. I cried and learnt my lesson. three months later, i took in again. i gave birth april 2019 through cs. i first tried vagina, i dilated but baby didn't decend. i opted for cs and had my son, alive and healthy. Cs is a life saver and the pain aftermath is bearable unlike labour pain. my recovery was also smooth. i didn't tie any belt and just three months later, my stomach is already as flat as before. so you see? people like us with boderline pelvics will always deliver through cs. I don't care what pple say oo. after all dey don't pay my bills neither do dey bear d pain for me. so people's opinion does not matter to me. i have my son alive and healthy. if i take in again, am heading for cs straight. my doc said i can take in after 6months atleast. but i will start trying once my baby is 9months. whatever is good, do it and don't bother about people. people will always talk. i 13 Likes 3 Shares |

My own experience. In 2012, I was around 40 weeks preg. When I was asked to go for scan, I told I was going to have hydro cephalic baby. I cried when I was told that I would be having a cs. I had the cs eventually the baby came out to be OK. In 2015 I was pregnant with baby 2. I went for scan around 37 weeks I was told my baby weighed 5.2 I was so scared, this was reason for another elective cs. The baby weighed 4.8 at birth. Very big and handsome. This year again I was heavily preg with my last baby, this time baby was OK, normal weight, but since I have had 2 cs previously automatically, it is a cs. I was given a date on a Friday, on Wednesday b4 the Friday I was in Labor, since I had not labored before then, I didn't take it seriously. I went for antenatal in a government hospital, I told my doc that I having cramps and slight pains in the lower abdomen. I didn't take it seriously. So,I didn't bother. By the time I got home the pains had increased. I started cooking, b4 I finished cooking that soup the pains had increased to x4. I went to ease my self behold there was blood everywhere. I called hobby, to come home, I was crying. Hubby came we went to withdraw some money and straight to the hospital. The pains kept increasing. At a time I was no longer crying, I was screaming ,I was shouting, doctors come and check me , I don't want to have a ruptured uterus.I kept shouting. Long story cut short, I was taken to the theater around 10pm. It was a spinal anaesthesia, so I was awake. Something happened. Immediately my baby was brought out there was power failure. I panicked. The doctors, about 6 of them, put on light from their phones and continued what they were doing. The nurses attending to my baby showed her to me. I was happy that finally I would be carrying a baby girl. I don't know what happened, may be over excitement, I couldn't breathe again. I started shouting to the doctors that I couldn't breathe again. There was no light. They brought an oxygen probably using UPS, immediately I inhaled it I became OK again. That was how what was supposed to be an elective cs became emergency cs. Thank God both mother and baby are doing very well 16 Likes 2 Shares |
