BBC bringing out this documentary is not WRONG!!. but this story focuses mainly on the ladies who have a problem and approaches this lecturers themselves. My question is, why wont they bring out a documentary that shows students who are serious with there academics been harassed by this lecturers. Majority of the ladies who are been harassed here are those who met them for a reason. How would a lady who needed admission seek the help of a lecturer she don't even know, is he the owner of the school?
The white folks will go as far as giving the investigators admission into this university, make them an outstanding students and see if they will be harassed by this lecturers, since those who were really harassed are scared.

I stand to be corrected, but getting a video as this, where ladies needed help and the lectures wants to make use of such opportunity does not conclude that this lecturers ask for sex for "GRADES".
In my opinion, Sex for grade is categorized into 2 types;
1. Either the Lecturer tries to fail a good student who he wants her body and she refuses (which is a very bad thing and the lecturer should be punished if caught) or
2. The lady knS[img][/img]ows she is not academically sound and needed to give her body in exchange for grades (wrong trade by barter). I am not saying the lecturers are doing a good thing, but BBC should do a better investigation for this very important issue.

She probably heard that he could help. Just like in my 200l, hostel accommodation was difficult to get but someone told me that a particular lecturer in a totally different faculty from mine could help me. And off I went to meet him for help.

It took me a few days of working as a "baby secretary" in his office but I got the accommodation. I didn't know him, he didn't own the hostel or school but my "informant" told me that he had been my hostel warden's lecturer in the past. So the lecturer just spoke to her on my behalf.

These lecturers are in a place of power not to abuse it. So whether a student is an A or D student should not matter.

But we keep missing the point of this publication. It is to expose lecturers that take advantage of students... whether it is a good or bad student is not the issue.

I totally agree with your second paragraph. That self control and self discipline is key. That is why I stated in my comment that no one can force you to do what you don't want to especially if you have strong will ( Now this goes for both lecturers and students).

But your first paragraph on power dynamic not been equal is wrong. So you feel the power students have is lesser than that of the lecturers. That is where you are getting it wrong.

Infact students have more power than the lecturers. I have seen students who are strong will and who know their right that don't participate in such acts. They record, (audio and at times videos) and report such incident to their parents and authority. Why because they are the one who decide what happens?

For example, it might sound funny to use this example in this case, a woman decide who she wants to have intercourse with in the dating world. Not the man. If you think as a male because you are woeing her and giving her lavish gift made her accept you, then you are in la la la land fantasy world. But in truth what you said is absolutely correct, am alma mata of the school, i learnt that the idiot Dr Arinze is now a prof, very ugly thing that specialized in extorting students and victimising female students, it is unfortunate many stidents cant speak as he is part of the school management , he was a former anti cult director, you can imagine, a notorious cultist leading camapaign against cultism.
