Former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has been nominated by the African Union (AU) to lead the continental body’s Election Observation Mission to Mozambique’s scheduled October 15 general elections.

In view of this, the former President is billed to leave the country on Friday for Maputo, capital of Mozambique, where he will be overseeing the deployment of the mission’s 40-member team of observers to different parts of the country.

He is also scheduled to hold consultations with various stakeholders in the country including government officials, members of the electoral commission, political parties, civil society, media, members of the diplomatic corps, and other international observer groups.

In a letter of invitation signed by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, the AU described Jonathan as a man who is deeply committed to peace and democracy on the continent.

It said: “Given Your Excellency's vast experience and commitment in promoting democracy and peace on the continent, I would like to invite you to lead the African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) to the Republic of Mozambique.”

Since leaving office in 2015, Jonathan’s numerous international engagements and peace missions had involved leading different Election Observer Missions to various African nations including Tanzania, Zambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone and South Africa.

Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan does not know what his loosing the 2015 presidential election caused the Niger delta region, the ijaw nation etc in terms of infrastructural and economic development.

Since the electoral loose, the ijaw nation missed the opportunity to feel the impacts of rapid development in ijaw land and the Niger delta as a whole.

He is busy pursuing useless international election monitoring in Mozambique.

It will interest the public to note that Jonathan did not even aspire to be President of Nigeria.

He got that position on a platter of gold.

Hence, he did not know the value of the office of the President of Nigeria to his own Niger delta people.

But not till he lost the presidency.

I think Ex-President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan should be ashamed of himself for failing the ijaw nation, Niger delta region and Nigeria as a whole.

Because he is a daft and a clueless leader, useless positions that the white man feel reluctant to do they will throw the position at either Obasanjo, Abdulsalami or Jonathan.

No, I have not observed. The only revelations we have seen during and after his tenure is the looting and sharing of our Yams.

I'm not bothered by Next Level.

So I don't care about PMB.

But I do care about that Otuoke simpleton for being a monumental klutz who didn't know his left from his right, who declared, in a fit of alcoholic stupor, that stealing is not corruption.

And he couldn’t monitor the last election in Nigeria.
He has done this monitoring enough to be able to a have a strong organization that presents independent report despite what the electoral body says.
Such report could be used as expert findings during election tribunal.
As if u don't know the kind of country we have and its rulers. Imagine the sanity he brought to the electoral system during his time, what has become of it? How about the so many resolutions by committee during his tenure e.g 2014 confab, has the current admin implemented any of them?

In the proper context, yes.

When one in position of public trust is deemed corrupt, there's usually filthy money involved. It's either they're embezzling, false padding, fictitious invoices, inflated contracts, bribes, grafts, kickbacks...... it's theft of both money and trust

You're reducing these to their base forms.

A public servant who fraudulently takes money from public treasure is a thief guilty of stealing.

Such a person is called corrupt.

A corrupt politician is one who, besides a range of other crimes, could also steal public funds.

"Corrupt" in this context is an adjective qualifying the verb "stealing"
