Hello everyone,

I'm a final year student in the University.

I really appreciate everyone for their contributions here, NL have been a great access to information for me since my UG admission process.

I would love to continue with my MSc in the US. My current GPA (WES iGPA calculations) stands at 3.22 after my third year, and I'll be done with my program in about 23-25weeks from now.

I don't mind if I get anyone in the field of Sociology for long-term sharing of correspondence (and mails) that is schooling in the US.

Lagosismyhome Ma, I don't mind joining the legion of mentees you currently have. I believe you're vast and endowed with lots of knowledge concerning the general processes here. Thank you for accepting.

To those who are already in the tunnel, I pray you see favourable light at the end of your endeavours.

Your cgpa is good.. But for your GRE, it's on average side.

Follow this steps.

1. Go to WES website and use the free calculator to convert your grades to 4.0

2. Hit Google and search for masters in business analytics in US and browse through the list of schools. (most schools offer this under MBA though)

3. Go through the requirements of the school and see if your cgpa and GRE score matches (I'm sure your cgpa does).

4. Check through the scholarship opportunities of the schools to see if your profile fit in.

5. Weigh the best options at hand and you may need USnews to compare the ranking.

6. Send in your applications and get ADMITTED

Please house I want to enquire if wes normally leaves out failed/carry over courses in the cgpa calculation?

I used their free tool and did not include failed courses.. my cgpa was good in the 4.0 scale system as a result.

Need to confirm urgently before my transcript is sent to them officially.

Thanks!

I'll advice you to relax, I know how you feel but sincerely, it won't help you if on that day you still feel the same way, listen to good music and relax, chew down your transcript and read others, learn how people answered various question, at the end I hope you find luck at the embassy...Also Pray

Any applicant going for visa interview at the US embassy should make sure (s)he go along with the #40,700 fee as cash to avoid confusion, delay and paying extra charges or commission of above 3k plus to those guy at the car park or around.

I thought the N40,700 should be paid when the VISA is issued at the point of collection not when it is approved.

Hello, I'm only pointing out my observation.

You seem too agitated about this interview, and I completely understand what it really mean to you. But you have to start to cultivate a very strong positive mentality.

I've not been there before but right now you have to be positive inside of you, and also calm your hysteria.

Secondly, you have to start drafting a transcript (if you've not done one). Then rehearse it even with your siblings and friends pending when the ‘grandgurus’ of this thread come to your aid.

The battle between you and the VO will not impact much but the battle within yourself is everything. Don't lose that one.

My one cent.

How can a university that offers 148 bachelor's programs, 121 master's programs and 55 doctoral programs, established in 1833 ...... be a red flag

Appreciation to all nairalanders. I was denied visa last year but I got it this year.

.......my conclusion about the whole thing is that after preparation, seek for favor. That's all.

Again, thanks to all. The information circukating here is good, though some are not the best but in all this page is indeed a blessing.

We need to first understand the business model of agents like Wakanow or TravelStart. I used the word agents because that's what they actually are...middlemen. they get tickets from airlines and hype the price by $100 or more as profits.

I still believe that the best place to get the best price is directly from the airlines. Wakanow and TravelStart are two sides of d same coin and they always match each other's price.

The catch is, u need to have the flight money ready. Secondly u need to be able to identify when d airline offers u a good deal n grab it.

1. Don't visit the airlines website prior for the purpose of mere checking.
2. Check only when u are ready to pay.
3. Use Wakanow n the rest to have an idea of the price.
4. Visit their website. Some will hit u with a ridiculously low price the first time u search. If u miss it, it's gone.
5. Keep checking the flight for up to 5 days at different times. You will mostly likely be offered a price drop.

No need to clear your cookies. You actually want the airlines to know that u are seriously considering them, that way they want to lower d ticket. That's how I search

I know almost everyone out there will tell u to go incognito while searching. Na, not me. I want them to know I am around.

I once missed a deal like this on Turkish airlines n I could have saved $250. Last time I used Ethiopian air, I saved 45k naira. Wakanow n TravelStart colluded between themselves n lined me up for slaughter, but I don wise.

I am currently searching for a cheap flight to Istanbul. Hope I can do it on . my own with your suggestions
