It is no longer news that Nigerian government just passed the bill to increase minimum wage from N18, 000 to N30, 000.

I'm currently employed in one of our country's ministry agency 2yrs ago at level 8 on a salary of about N121, 000 per month.

My fellow nairalanders please help me to understand the modalities in the calculations and how the minimum wage increment is going to affect my current salary..

I have been wondering too. But with all the increment in VAT it's turning out to be a waste of time

To Find your Salary;

Salary=121,000×8÷2=18,000

Therefore 18,000-30,000÷2/8

salary × minimum wage + Govt =7.6577

Therefore: go and ask your boss your salary Idi ot.

Government is proposing 11% consequential adjustment for workers on grade level 7-14. If labour accepts the offer eventually, your current N121,000 will be increased by 11%. You can do the maths. Cheers!

Chris Ngige said ''Increment in minimum wage does not mean overall salary increment for all workers undecided
This man is the most wicked and FOOLISH person to ever be a labour minister in Nigeria.
HE IS THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO LABOUR MINISTRY!
How can a so-called learned man say such rubbish?
Is he trying to play smart and/or he's just playing senseless politics?

So, If a junior staff on level 3 receiving 25k before starts collecting 34k, a senior staff on level 8 receiving 86k should just continue to receive the same amount?

Since the last 6 years, inflation has increased by at least 150% in Nigeria in every aspect of the economy but there has NEVER been a salary increment for the last 7 years?
HOW WICKED CAN THESE LEADERS BE?

It is easier for them to increase VAT
It is easier for them to increase the amount to get a passport
It is easier for them to increase custom duties
It is easier for them to increase the price of petroleum products
It is easier for them to be allocating millions of naira to themselves as salaries every month (legislators)
It is easier for them to increase PHCN tariffs etc but simple 30k minimum wage has been giving them headache for the past 10 months cry

In a sane country, we should have requested the labour minister to resign and be forced to do so.
The present NLC president is a VERY USELESS HUMAN BEING. HE MUST HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED.
The useless man should be impeached IMMEDIATELY and be investigated.
I am tired of this shithole of a country.
