FYI, God the father and God the Son are two different persons. One God head but different persons.
You forget God does not need ANY prayer. Christ was 100% man and was praying to God as any man would (same reason he made “forsaken” statement), does not mean God needed the prayers.

What’s with u and this karma stuff. Evidence abound around you that nature does not operate based on karma. A lion kills innocent animals all day long yet no one ever kills it. Explain that karma. People are kings today because of atrocities and subjugation of others perpetrated by their ancestors. Explain that karma.

I keep saying u do not understand because u clearly do not understand. Hope this our little discussion helps u understand a bit. Accept that Lord Jesus died for your sins. Become a follower of His.
Well I hope soon enough you'll realize, no man can die for the sins you committed.
It's you that said "Christ was 100% man" and it's still you that's saying a 100% man can die for your sin. You're just contradicting yourself.
Well I can't debate much longer with you, I hate loops! And I will never follow a "100% man" when I can follow his Father, The Divine!

U forget he is 100% God. While on earth he WAS both 100% man and 100% God. Throughout the Old Testament God accepted blood sacrifice for remission of sins. Eventually, for the once and for all time wiping of sins, God the Son Himself was sacrificed so that whoever believeth in him is saved

Again if he was 100% man and God, he wouldn't have needed to intercede!
You're indirectly saying Jesus and God were different entities but you can't even understand your ignorance.
It should be obvious to you but you've been brought up with a similar thinking pattern so your backfire effect is intense.

Just give your life to Christ guy and end the childish semantic debate. I’m sure u know instinctively the truth being shown u:
Lord Jesus and God the Father are indeed different persons but fully God. While retaining His deity, the Person Jesus came to earth and became 100% man WHILE ON EARTH. He prayed and ate and experienced pain just as men do. He then left that human experience and went back to the Father as part of one God, where he is now simply 100% God.

Most documented events that happened in Benin where in 1400s, 1500s, 1600s and 1700s and you are here telling me about 1898. 1898 is like yesterday when discussing Benin.

So what is the name of the first church in benin and what year was it built?

Holy Arousa was built in the 1500s by Oba Esigie of Benin who was educated in a seminary in Portugal. You can Google and learn about the history of Oba Esigie online, there are documents and letters written from Benin to Portugal dating back to the 1550s in the Portuguese museum. The last imperial king of Benin was deposed by the British in 1897. Benin imperial history was already over before your so called church of 1898 was even built.

Holy Arousa is not a church. It is more like a shrine.

Is the lord Jesus Christ worshiped in Holy Arousa?

Holy Arousa wasn't built in the 1500s

Holy Arousa is not a shrine, it's an orthodox church, there are similar churches across the world, Latin America, Russia, Greece, just to mention a few.

Since you are disputing that Holy Arousa was founded in 1500s, please tell us the year it was founded.

There are several denominations of churches in the world, the Catholic, Pentecostal, Anglican, Mormon, Eastern Orthodox church, Oriental Orthodox church, etc.

All Christian do not share the same beliefs as to whom Juses Christ was, some believe he was God himself, some believe he was the son of God, others believe he was just a messager (prophet) and all can refer to bible verses to support their beliefs. All Christian denominations practise christianity differently.

As you can see below if you take time to read through, the Catholic and some Eastern Orthodox churches don't believe Pentecostal churches practice true christianity just as you have suggested that Holly Arousa don't practise true Christianity. The Vatican don't even see Pentecostal as churches but denominations

The problem with most Nigerians and Africans is that they largely lack the history and understanding of the foreign religions they adopted and practiced.

Since the reforms surrounding the Second Vatican Council of 1962–1965, the Catholic Church has referred to Protestant communities as "denominations", while reserving the term "church" for apostolic churches, including the Eastern Orthodox (see subsistit in and branch theory). But some non-denominational Christians[5] do not follow any particular branch, though sometimes regarded as Protestants.[not verified in body

Churches Denominations

A Christian denomination is a distinct religious body within Christianity, identified by traits such as a name, organization, leadership and doctrine. The Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodox Church and Oriental Orthodoxy, meaning the large majority, all self-describe as churches, whereas many Protestant denominations self-describe as congregations or fellowships. Divisions between one group and another are defined by authority and doctrine; issues such as the nature of Jesus, the authority of apostolic succession, ecclesiology, eschatology, and papal primacy may separate one denomination from another. Groups of denominations—often sharing broadly similar beliefs, practices, and historical ties—are sometimes known as "branches of Christianity". These branches differ in many ways, especially through differences in practices and belief.

Individual denominations vary widely in the degree to which they recognize one another. Several groups claim to be the direct and sole authentic successor of the church founded by Jesus Christ in the 1st century AD. Others, however, believe in denominationalism, where some or all Christian groups are legitimate churches of the same religion regardless of their distinguishing labels, beliefs, and practices. Because of this concept, some Christian bodies reject the term "denomination" to describe themselves, to avoid implying equivalency with other churches or denominations.

The Catholic Church which has over 1.3 billion members[1] – slightly over half of all Christians worldwide – does not view itself as a denomination, but as the original pre-denominational church,[2] a view rejected by other Christians. Protestant denominations account for approximately 37 percent of Christians worldwide.[3] Together, Catholicism and Protestantism (including Anglicanism, and other denominations sharing historical ties) comprise Western Christianity. Western Christian denominations prevail in Western, Northern, Central and Southern Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Americas and Oceania.[citation needed]

The Eastern Orthodox Church, with an estimated 225–300 million adherents,[4] is the second-largest Christian organization in the world and also considers itself the original pre-denominational church. The Eastern Orthodox Church is itself a communion of fully independent autocephalous churches (or "jurisdictions"wink that mutually recognize each other. The Eastern Orthodox Church, together with Oriental Orthodoxy and the Assyrian Church of the East, constitutes Eastern Christianity. (There are smaller groups of Eastern Catholics which are in communion with the Bishop of Rome but have cultural and historical ties with other Eastern Christians.) Eastern Christian denominations are represented mostly in Eastern Europe, North Asia, the Middle East, Northeast Africa and mostly South India.

Christians have various doctrines about the Church (the body of the faithful that they believe Jesus Christ established) and about how the divine church corresponds to Christian denominations. Both Catholics and Eastern Orthodox hold that their own organizations faithfully represent the One Holy catholic and Apostolic Church to the exclusion of the other. Sixteenth-century Protestants separated from the Catholic Church because of theologies and practices that they considered to be in violation of their own interpretation. Generally, members of the various denominations acknowledge each other as Christians, at least to the extent that they have mutually recognized baptisms and acknowledge historically orthodox views including the Divinity of Jesus and doctrines of sin and salvation, even though doctrinal and ecclesiological obstacles hinder full communion between churches.

When I was serving in Lokoja, Council of Arts and Culture, my boss tasked me to adapt a stage play to screen play. The play centers on Igala Jukun war and how the Atta Idoko sacrificed his only beloved daughter so as to defeat the exploiting and extorting Jukun of the Ikwarefa empire.

It was a good read and a good write for me.

History is such a complicated subject. Though has one face, shows and reflects many faces. You narrate it from what you see (and how you see it) at your angle. And, I am not an Igala person..

I have read of queen Idia, Esigie, Oliaha and Imaguero and the coral bead story. To some extent, the faction you narrated retains the content of the one I heard and read of. I still believe the war that led to the sacrifice of Inkpi is a war of total conquest which spelt victory for the Igala nation and not the other way round. It was a war with the Jukun and not Benin. Igalas played little or no role in the war between Oliha and Esigie.

Mask of queen Idia which the Attah uses is believed to have been seized from the Benins as a result of Igalas conquest of Benin in a separate war that has nothing to do with Inkpi.
