@glorioussugar,have you been able to get another date?if yes,did you get a November or a December date?

I’ve not been able to get another date. I wake up every night to check if I’ll see a closer date. The date on the portal is towards end of December.

It’s a Mozilla Firefox extension, thing about that one is that your computer has to Be connected to the internet all the time so that if there’s a change you’ll know.im looking for an earlier date too so I’ve been asking around but nothing yet,I was told that the dates for our category are different from the normal b1/b2 so it’s hard to get dates

@Glorioussugar,

Why don't you just go ahead and choose a date in December? It might get to a point where those dates become filled up as well.

Cheers!

There’s no need to cry ma’am,you’ve probably checked the appointment page too many times, just leave it like they said and it’ll be unlocked by Friday

My medicals expire in December. That means I’ll have to do another medicals in December? I don’t even know what to think anymore. I don’t know why my case is like this . I’m having severe headache right now.

@legitbachelor,what I mean is that she’s looking for an earlier date because her petition will soon expire that’s why she didn’t want to choose the December dates

How come your medicals will expire in December, when did you do it,you should start thinking of sending an email to the embassy as to your expiration date so that they’ll extend it Incase you don’t get an appointment soon enough.

Why would you have your medicals without having an interview date? The ideal thing is to get your interview date first and then book your medicals and police report a few weeks to your interview date.

You don't have control over the interview dates, the consulate makes dates available whenever they think it's convenient. Best is to pick the earliest date available.....because if you don't the available dates might get further from your current date.

Let’s no chastise her bro even though I am surprised with all the information legitbachelor has induced on this thread. Glorioussugar, once your account is unlocked, please pick a date as soon as possible(my case was ready in April and I got a June date and I had to wait, K1 has no choice than to wait most times), on issue of medicals expiring, I will advise you to have another because validity of your visa starts counting from the day of your medicals and you still need them to be valid for a year when you adjust status. You don’t need to cry, everyone make mistakes.

Okay let me break it down.

Once your cgi account is unlocked, schedule a date ASAP and if you can’t, send an email to the us embassy with your date of birth, case number and petitioner date of birth telling them about your case expiring. If your medicals is/are gonna be expiring soon, I would advise you to have another before your interview or better still send an email to the embassy advising you on what to do . Your visa starts counting from the day of your medicals and you said your medicals are expiring by December.

. Once the portal opens on Friday, I will urge u to pick any available date. Then u can call the call center and explain your plight,I guess that is the fastest means to get things sorted. Not picking any available date means you gonna be going for your interview next year.Try to relax

Oh and the portal can actually open before 72 hours if you're lucky.

It doesn't matter when the petition is expiring. She should just pick the available date.

After picking the date, she can then send a mail to the embassy seeking extension of her expiry date. They will grant her request and extend it because they will see it's not her fault that she chose a later date as it was the only available date at the time. I'm even told they automatically extend the expiry date in situations like this without even a need to send them a mail.

However if she decides to wait and not schedule any date, then her casefile will expire on the expiry date and she will have to start the i129 petition (or i130) all over again. That's not good.

Don't worry about medicals for now. Just pick an available date once your portal opens up. After picking an available date, you can plan to schedule another medicals. Your medicals should be scheduled 2 - 3 weeks to your interview date.

Let us know when you've picked an interview date. We'll advice you on what to do next. Regards.

Ok. But if I’m able to get a date for November, do I still need to do medicals? I mean I’m going to book December date, but if a see a date in November and reschedule, do I still need to do medicals? My medicals expire in December

So that means your medical report will expire in March (medicals has a validity of 6 months). So don't worry about medicals. Just pick the available interview date asap once your portal open up and let us know when you do.

Note however that what this means is that if your interview is successful and you are granted the K1 visa, your visa will expire in March.

My advice: Pick an available date once your portal opens up. Don't tamper with the date by attempting to reschedule for an earlier date. Stick to the date. Prepare for the interview, and go with relevant documents. Then be ready to leave the country before March, get married within 90 days of entry into the US and adjust status immediately after marriage or before the i94 validity expires.

Hi guys,

I was approved yesterday #to God be the Glory.

#AQuickThrowback

My petition was approved April 2nd, 2019. May 14th, We got a mail that our case was sent to nigeria embassy of which we waited patiently and got my packet-4 July 14th, 2019. So upon reading this thread, I got to know that petition expires and we realised it was to expire August 1, 2019.

I completed my DS 160 form and was awaiting the nearest date since July 30th, kept seeing "No available date". Finally got one for OCT 15th. Upon reading I decided to go for my med test September 30th(monday) two weeks before the interview, only for me to find out that my passport wouldnt be valid for the process (It is to expire mid march next year). I was so angry, and I kept thinking if only I got an earlier date, this wudnt have happened.

And not to focus on the problem, but solution; It means I must get a new passport on or before OCT 3(thursday) to do my medicals, (oh my that will be in three days time, I said to myself) and this is because med result comes out after 7 working days which will fall on Oct 14 a day to my interview (Oct 15).

But mehn, Eventually, I got my passport on wednesday, went for the medical on thursday, picked up the med result oct 14 and prayed that I get favoured the next day. Meanwhile, I was a bit worried because I have a new Passport number.

EVERYTHING TURNED OUT GOOD. I AM TO PICK MY PASSPORT AND VISA IN TWO WEEKS TIME.

#IWouldShareMyTranscriptSoon.

Many thanks to @legitBachelor, @djfrancis, @sharpman1 @drenimarcus @abisolaarshow @sukey and every other persons I forgot to mention.#Gracias.
