Few weeks before border closure, they released list of designated toll gates, one region has 56 and we ask why should that be? Bale dealers in aba, owerri and ph have been idle since this year cause of closure of ph wharf. There’s also increment in tax rates. All of a sudden, borders are closed. Even in GEJ’s looting period, things didn’t get bad this way. |

Noisemakers. Even if the border in the north was open, there is nothing you can do about it. |

Afamed: No be only Maradi border na Maradi goat! Is there border in the north? Obviously you have not explored the geography of the north. it's a massive sea of barren land across Niger and Chad. Those small outposts are what you are calling borders? Many northerners (core North) will take a Nigerien or a Chadian over a Nigerian from the South. |

Sad how Lagos State and FG feign ignorance over the Badagry road when that should've been exploited for the benefit of of tourism in Nigeria. All countries on the west coast has a fledgling tourism industry but not Nigeria. All our beaches are basically unsafe due to miscreants etc, roads are bad too. From Cotonou straight to Accra, the roads are pot-hole free no single one but come to Nigeria, it's an issue. Develop our borders and see how smuggling issues would resolve itself. Right now the customs and immigrations are not well equipped due to the poor roads to curb smuggling. |

What a monumentally stupid statement. If the South secedes you will really know the meaning of "dry" port when your useless port remains empty and you have to pay heavy import duties to use the Lagos Port. SLAP44: 1 Like |
