okay thanks for that info ...so if that be the case my question is there any form of movement of goods as well as persons in that region or let me say boarder ...pls reply sir.
There's nearly unrestricted movement in the northern brothers. All the goods that are contraband in the the Southern borders are flowing into Nigeria freely from the North.

Well, the video I watched was from the North, they were speaking Hausa and all, each okada was carrying about 5 bags of rice, and there were many of them, the video lasted for about 1 minute. I can't say or think for other borders, I'm talking based on what I watched.

So you actually think that there is no smuggling going on across the Seme and Idiroko borders

The number of people that have been making statements trying to blackmail the government into opening the borders goes to show there were alot of criminals benefitting from the smuggling business indeed.

Gani might be one of them.
just listen to yourself you are still talking about smuggling where there is more than 20 custom checking point from border to mile 2 then what is FG paying them for.

Buhari shut Nigerian borders with Benin Republic just to teach them lesson all because of DANGOTE. Just one man DANGOTE causing southerners pain. If only people can remember dangotes complaint about the president of Benin Republic. Buhari is suffering the masses at just because of one man.

Does anyone still remember the fake rice pyramids of Ogun state government?
The few bags of rice among the bags of sand were smuggled in from Seme.. No single rice farm in Ogun state, nothing like Ofada rice.

Why not
The Internet does not forget

Re: Borders In The North Still Operating- Gani Adams by Litmus: 10:42pm On Oct 24, 2019
Nigeria government need quickly to put in place a Minister or Ministry of Internet/Social Media. Nigeria is usually innovative but in this, it seems we have been slow for it appears others have beaten us to it. The reemit of this Minister of Internet, Ministry of Social Medias or Social Media QUNGO, should be to employ an army of young people dedicated to pushing a United Nigeria Interest point of view online as a counterpoint to those foreign organisations that use something like this to exploit Nigeria’s ethnic lines and influence Nigeria for their benefit whatever those may be. If not, we are bleeped as a Nation, for we won’t be able to build Nigeria into that powerful, self sufficient industrialised Nation of our dreams, especially if the neighbours and their Western masters feel excluded, threatened or left behind.

Lol, Nigeria wants nuclear power to solve energy problem when you cannot even close borders because your neighbouring countries are impacted and resort to manipulating you along ethnic lines. If they feel threatened by your nuclear program, they will resort to manipulating you online and through those in high up places in Nigeria that fight for their interest. They will have you in gridlock by making where to place the stations in Nigeria a matter of Ethnicity. If it is set for the North, it will be because the North wants to bomb the South or something. If in the South, it will be that the North does not want any accidents in their region….

since you asked for the real situation of things, the truth is that smuggling is still very active in the northern borders. A bag of foreign rice ,for example, went for 9000 naira at Maiduguri as of last week.
but i think is not the same maiduguri that i am currently living you are talking about if it is true connect me with the person that bought @9000 i will buy each bag @15000 if it is truly foreign rice. you people are here telling lies we lived in the north you can hardly find foreign rice in maiduguri in an open market because each day the task force are searching the markets looking for the foreign rice to seize it same goes for yobe and other neighboring states.
