Few years back the Imams of the Haramain used to travel in and out of the Mosque without security but due to some incidents and increased recognition due to social media the Imam is accompanied by a security escort to protect them from the crowd and incidents. Incidents: 1- A Man attempted to approach Sheikh Ali Al Hudaify shouting while he was leading Fajr Salah in 2015. 2- A man pushed Sheikh Juhany and started to shout in the microphone in 2011 while he was leading Dhur Salah 3- A man attempted to stab Sheikh Sudais while he was seated for Taslim during Salah in Masjid Al Haram in the late 2000s  Source: Haramain Sharifain https://mobile.twitter.com/hsharifain/status/1186308241514532864 5 Likes 2 Shares

Paxie55:You're mad of all the 3 previous incidents who do you think protected the imams? You or who? It's Allah, cos at those particular moments there are no security details attached to them. FYI in Islam we have a belief in what we refer to as Sabab ( pl. Asbab; meaning reason(s) ), you cant just be praying for wealth without you engaging in wealth creation opportunities/you cant be hungry and then praying to Allah to satisfy your hunger without taking food likewise you cant seek for Allah's protection without you protecting yourself or your properties in the first place. You can't tell me that coz u believe in God, that is a more reasons u will leave ur door opened in Night after which u knew the so called armed robbers might come and pay you visits. Lukgaf: Very true. With the kind of hate speech that many people utter against Saudi on social media, there needs to be extra caution. BTW, taking security doesn't imply that one doesn't put his trust in Allaah. Just as working hard doesn't mean that one doesn't put his trust in Allaah. Tawakkul (reliance on Allaah) is that you believe firmly in your heart that your efforts and anyone's efforts cannot have any positive or negative impact on your life except of Allaah wills. As the prophet (commendations and peace of Allaah be upon him) said to his cousin, Abdullaah bn Abbaas: Know that whatever reaches wasn't decreed to miss you and whatever misses you hasn't been decreed to reach you.. That benefit of tawakkul is that you won't seek solution in what Allaah has made Haram. Such as visiting churches and shrines in times of difficulty or engaging in fraud because you're broke. This era isn't the first of it's kind. During the Umawee era Imams used to lead congregation in bunkers due to insecurity. Allaah knows best. 3 Likes |
