The interval from hiv infection to the diagnosis of aids takes about 9 months to 20 yrs. In my first input i narrowed down to just hiv but then some other pathologies can be factored in.

if I get you well you talking of the progression to Aids(which if its what she has, anti bodies for HIV wont show anymore). but I was talking of the time anti bodies can be detected. from all we have read an seen so far. 6 months is enough. so at this stage HIv should be completely ruled out. or do you think otherwise.

What you have is most likely INFECTIOUS MONONUCLEOSIS also called KISSING DISEASE . It's caused by a virus called Epstein Barr Virus ((EBV). It's usually gotten from kissing.

It's usually a self limiting infection and manifests with the symptoms you listed. ( sore throat, body pain, fever, night sweats. easy fatiguability, easy satiety , weight loss, generalized lymph node swelling). The skin rash is usually caused when you take a penicillin based drug like amoxicillin or ampicillin.

This could also be associated with Cytomegalovirus infection (CMV).

The disease is usually self limiting and can be prolonged in people with some forms of immunodeficiencies e.g Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVI).

This disease can only be diagnosed in a specialized lab i.e Virology Labs via tests like PCR (polymerase chain reaction).
More than 98% of labs in Nigeria cannot conduct these tests.

Your best bet in getting a definitive diagnosis is seeing a hematologist or an infectious disease specialist in a Teaching hospital. A general practitioner might find it difficult to arrive at the correct diagnosis.

While you a waiting to do that , you may benefit from taking antioxidants eg
Vitamin C , Vitamin A and E.

OK bro. I had that boil you talked of in the thread with other multiple symptoms 8 months plus still negative I had to move on. I still have mouth ulsers. these things can be scary.

This is not mourning, or judging. Besides, you don't console those who committed sin. You only tell them the truth which is for them to repent and come out from sin and seek God for mercy!!! Our hospitals can't be trusted....fake lab scientists brekete.....just go to a teaching hospital and run fresh test....i pray you find solution because anxiety is a sickness on it's own

Nairaland famiy I need help.

Somethings been eating me up. I had sex with my boyfriend some weeks later i started falling so sick I will try to point out all I can remember
*Came down with what I felt was fever was burning hot so hot you just need to come close to feel the heat

*at night I sweat. Not just the usual sweat but one I have to change my clothes two times a nigbt(this happened for like a week)

* I started feeling so cold especially in the morning. Doctor said it was pneumonia + a cough that lasted for three weeks plus.

*and the rashes I ve never have in my whole life spreaded all over my arms and back as well as my breast region.

* I also had serious muscle ache. Serious that my mom had to help me massage it. My neck did hurt too it felt like someone hit me with a blank on my neck

* nodes on my neck, groin, as well as ear.
* I started having blurred vision and sores on my lips like fever blisters

* and then injuries in my mouth, weird ones
* I have oral trush at least thats what I thought them to be. White tongue I have had this before but this onr is different. With slimy white things in my mouth every time

*I also experienced dehydration and dry mouth.
* also had a delayed flow

The symptoms are so much I can't even mention it all. Most of these lasted for about a month +. I still have cold till this day. I shiver most times and its my major fear. And the rashes are still there.

This Is the major problem. The nurse who was handling me said it might be an STD maybe HIV I took plethora of test including HIV after 3 months all came back negative, I was told to wait 6montgs to check for HIv again it was still negativr. During this month I have seen so many doctors, private and government all they do is givr me drugs but I still experience the pneumonia cold( no cough) and occasional mouth sores as well as the rash. My boyfriend now my ex took HIV too it was negative.
Please doctors in the house what can this be. I have read so many threads here on naira land of people who had same experience but some later turned + they might be lying though.

I heard after 6 months and test is still negative then its not it. My question now is. What is wrong with me. I have spent so much on drugs and test. And no doctor is able to say what my problem is. Its making me crazy as I am even scared to shower because of the cold and I can't let people see my body due to rash.

I need help.

that was my thought. But test results says otherwise. So my doctor completely ruled it out. Since I tested negative at 6months.I have been a wreck for 6months and now

I personally had this same symptoms early dz year ... It was tough, I visited 3 different teaching hospitals and did tests upon tests but the tests came out ok so doctors declared me okay.. there was even a time I had to tell a particular doctor “ pls don’t tell me I’m okay cos I’m not “lol
.. I’m actually feeling better now though, my advice would be pls find a confirm spiritual man or woman and if not you can start attending prayer crusades and start praying by yourself , start fasting... May God have mercy on us all

Sorry you caught HIV, please Google HIV support groups and drug center...I think there are Federal gov hospitals where you can get free HIV drugs.

Am not a medical expert tho, but I'll like to tell you true fact today either you believe it on not. There's isn't anything like AIDS. It's still shrouded in controversy even here in Australia.

However, am aware of the unprotected sex diseases flying around in Africa and Nigeria like STDS and whatnot. Please next time use protection and avoid multiple sex partners as well so that you can pinpoint where your related issues are coming from.
Moreso, stop unnecessary fretting it causes hormone disorders due to release of large amounts.

Lastly I wouldn't rule out diabolical means especially around guys in Nigeria which now very prevalent in the name of getting rich quick engage all sorts things. Lazy youth actually and girls without brains am sorry am going the word but this what Nigeria has become.

HIV AIDS don't show up that early no matter how weak her body system is.and at 6 months she bought to have come down with the real sickness or illness now and if that's how it still is with her then it's not something really that bad but physcy thing.SHE ALSO NEED TO HECKK THAT PNEUMONIA THING O !once she can treat the major sicknesses like typhoid and malaria very seriously, she would be better.Then like every one keep asking is uncle to Yahoo things ?I don't wanna think uncle is into that and if he is ,she would have been dead hit by now ,I atleast speak from experience as a counsellor and a minister of God.
