Before you come out in the open to make allegations against a School management in Nigeria, you need to have solid evidence. When you have them, the best thing is to forward them to popular blogger or online news papers telling them you want to remain anonymous. This is the way to go. Another way is to open an anonymous facebook account and publish these informations there

You need evidence. Written, audio, video evidence. If you have evidence you have no problem. He was invited to the School Disciplinary Committee so that they could find out if he actually have evidence. These guys know that all his allegations might be right and they will find a way to deal with the culprits quietly but again, he should have been wise enough. He should have had a backup plan because I know that he knows the consequence of his actions is outright rustication.

I commend his courage but I wish he was able to present evidence. The evidence would have helped him to hire a good lawyer, sue the university for millions of damages and whoops he becomes a millionaire even if the case takes forever. He will win the case but without evidence, the allegations are just mere allegations.

You have fallen for the management's propaganda.
Which evidence do you want him to present?
Is he not a student suffering from a lack of transportation and also SARS arrestment?

Didn't the VC budget millions every year for transport purposes?
Why was there no improvement?

The management cannot deny any of the facts stated in the open letter.
A good lawyer can extract millions in damages from the school management for illegal expulsion.

Education is the key to success.

Don't confuse degree with education. They are two different things. Degree is a certification of your learning, education is that learning. Some people pass through school but never really got educated. They have degrees that they can't defend.

Degree may not be important, especially in developed countries. But education is very important.

You can't survive without education, and there is nowhere you can't get an education.

Rubbish and gibberish in joint collabo from a brainwashed African schooled from a university with Archaic syllabus. Chinese kids made the phone you typed that nonsense from.

They invited him and he honoured the invitation, yet they expelled him. If he did not honour the invitation they will point it was a reason for his expulsion.
Did you read the expulsion letter at all? That he honored their invitation - does that me he was able to substantiate all the allegations he made about the school?
When he was invited, did he prove it with factual evidence that ass licking was the order of the day? That money meant for transportation was diverted or spent wrongly?

This might actually be a blessing in disguise. Look at the graduates Nigeria is producing, mediocre, uninspiring and most of them end up working for an entrepreneur or someone with lower qualifications than them. What's the use of graduating only to end up making money that can't afford you a decent 2 bedroom flat in Lagos? What's the point when you hardly make more than Emeka selling spare parts or Iyabo selling cosmetics? Wake up Nigerians!

Come let this SUG stand up and fight for this student... He is saying the truth, how can you queue for public bus to school and Deen of student affairs cruise in "official car" to the same schl seeing his student queue endlessly for bus to schl.

For how long would these our leaders always subdue we the youths? For how long?

This is a sweet case for the human right lawyers.

As in ehn... Now u understand why nigeria may never be great.. Nobody wants to fight or voice out for anything.. Everybody is thinking of what they will gain.. Nobody wants to sacrifice sh!t for for their freedom.. This is why our leaders will continue having an endless laugh at our follishness while they rob us to the bones..

Who doesn't know about the misappropriation and mismanagement of funds going on in our higher institutions? Na only get fingers to type "long long English" (in Mercy Eke"s voice). I feel for him but he brought this mess upon himself

This is why I am convinced that this country can never be better than this!

An average Nigerian is a coward! Can't speak up, can't resist, we are even scared to tacitly support anyone who has the courage to speak up. In your opinion, he is stupid for speaking up, he should have kept quiet and suffered like others. He is stupid for having the courage to risk everything in a fight for better conditions.

In saner climes, citizens risk everything for what they believe in, that is how they hold leaders to account. Check Hong Kong, cataluna, Thailand etc. But Nigerians will rather endure suffering than fight back, even those who fight are seen as 'stupid' . you see why we will remain like this? If more and more students, probably in hundreds and thousands continue to speak up, the management will be forced to act! . but in your opinion, we should know that funds have been stolen, but simply keep quite and look the other way? Then when will it stop?

Go into the university, get a degree, and vamoose. When I see comments like these... i wonder the kind of education we are getting in this country. An education that cannot challenge the status quo, an education that cannot question conventions and an education that is la cram, la pour and la vamoose. In femi kuti's voice...I sorry sorry oooo..

You can read but can't understand.

He was expelled based on the letter he wrote.
The is up there on the first page, yet you are parroting the management's stupid excuse.

It is foolishness to ask someone to substantiate their view of an administration and any deep thinker
knows the implication of such inanity.

If the road in your street is bad and nothing is done about it and you described your chairman of being incompetent despite receiving allocations.
Does it make sense for anyone to ask you to substantiate your "allegation" of the chairman being incompetent
when the bad road is enough pointers to his managerial disability?

Many of us have the ability to read beyond what is on a page and I suspect you are just pretending otherwise.

Even if he can't be reinstated, he must seek legal damage for illegal expulsion because the management
has foolishly backed itself into a corner. I will gladly donate to such a course of action.
I'm sorry to say, you are the one that can't comprehend.. Stop making conclusions after read 1st paragraph. Did you even read the expulsion letter?
I can call out my Local Govt Chairman if the road to my house is bad. But the moment I put it there that my Local govt Chairman diverted the money meant for road works without having evidence then I should be expecting a law suit.
Calling out the school is a very good thing. In fact everyone in the school may support his claims but where is the 'Substantial Evidence'?
Let him call for a legal redress if he has evidence and was illegally expelled. It was in the expulsion letter that he couldn't provide evidence at the meeting the disciplinary committee invited him to, hence his expulsion.

All this problems was in existence even before I left Funnab, it only persist there after.

He was saying the truth in a wrong way. Manner of approach matters a lot.
" even enemies have respect for themselves "

There is a level of approach/presenting your vengeance in writing that people will listen and come to your aid.

The expulsion was expensive.

But there are no mistakes in life, only lessons and opportunities which must be search into.

I read the expulsion letter...What they should have done is to look into the issues raised by the student(a stakeholder) and act accordingly. Kiki Mordi never had any evidence when she was first harassed by a lecturer but she reported the case to some people who never deemed it fit to stand for her whilst most of them "demanding for evidence". The issues raised by ifemosu are valid because the effects of having poor transportation systems were evident and it could have been from gross incompetence, corruption or misappropriation.

He was not asked to provide proof of incompetence against the management. Incompetence is not the same as dishonesty, shameless sycophancy, and misappropriation that he ignorantly accused the management of. And being competent does not mean someone cannot misappropriate funds or be dishonest.

Please, read. Reading does not kill.

Education is certainly the tool through which our leaders wield some form of influence over we the followers. Education in Nigeria preaches conformity and uniformity. if u are gonna be a non conformist u would easily be spotted and seen as an immediate threat against the powers that be. Infact non conformist are endangered species. Hence, education can be a tool for emancipation as well as for slavery. The kind of education we receive is controlled by the powers dat be to make the average man a subject of ridicule and because education has a great power over the mind, as soon as the mind is captured,we experience a situation whereby the masses Wt more number are incapable of standing up against tyranny or voicing out their displeasure about certain state of affairs. The university system is producing robots and conformist in large numbers little wonder we can't rise up against tyranny and dictatorship. I hope Ifemosu bounces back from this minor set back.

when you keep quiet the nonsense will not end. He sacrificed himself and all you have to say is he got it coming? We need to understand that he is a hero and while others kept quiet for the status quo he spoke out. If we had more vocal people we won't be where we are. Fela already said this " my people fear too much"

This is why Nigeria is where it is today. Lily-livered fellows who are too steeped in fear to demand and speak up for their right.
I guess this is how the developed countries got to where they are right now?
Please don't quote me as this response here will suffice.

How do you expect him to say it? I am sure many would have said this countless times...but to no avail. It is no news that administrations especially in Nigeria only understands "confrontation". That was what he did and attention is shifting towards him. Even if nothing is done to address the problem, we now know what the university administration stands for. No wonder our public universities ranking keeps falling. The results are there staring us in the face. It will get to a point where employers would refuse to employ public varsity students because of the la cram, la pour , la vamoose style proposed by dominique.
