As soon as the Queen of England bestowed one of the country's highest honors upon John Lennon, almost anyone could have guessed it wasn't going to end well.

Along with the rest of the Beatles, Lennon was made a Member of the Most Honorable Order of the British Empire on Oct. 26, 1965, an act of recognition demonstrating the immense pride the nation took in the band's incredible worldwide success. According to Lennon, he had to be talked into accepting the award by Beatles manager Brian Epstein, and true to his customarily flippant and anti-establishment persona, he proved fairly flippant at the award ceremony.

"She said to me, 'Have you been working hard lately?' And I couldn't think what we had been doing so I said, 'No, we've been having a holiday,'" Lennon recalled. "We'd been recording, but I couldn't remember."

Later, joking that he thought the letter informing the band members they'd been selected was a notice that they'd been drafted, Lennon claimed to have tossed it into a pile of fan mail and and added, "We thought being offered the MBE was as funny as everyone else thought it was … We all met and agreed it was daft ... then it all just seemed part of the game we’d agreed to play."

By the late '60s, that was a game Lennon had largely lost interest in playing, but he'd become increasingly savvy about how to leverage his celebrity in order to further his favorite causes. In the fall of 1969, that was a list that included ending British military involvement in global conflicts such as the wars in Vietnam and Biafra, and he decided to use the award he'd never really wanted in order to prove a point.

God can't bless something he didn't create....LUGARD CREATED NIGERIA....ARTIFICIALLY THATS WHY THEY KEEP SINGING THE AUDIO UNITY SINCE 1914 TO DATE

GOD CREATS A NATION WHEN IT HAPPENS NATURALLY( Men with common reasoning, understanding, religion and believes comes together and form a nation that's why its called NATION)NOT WHEN SOMEONE INVADES MY HOME AND EXPERIMENT WITH ME LEAVING SIDE BY SIDE WITH TALIBANS( A SET OF PEOPLE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM ME IN EVERYTHING) AND GAVE ME A NAME NIGERIA AND MY CHILDREN WILL GROW UP DEFENDING IT AS A NATION

NIGERIA WAS A TRANSACTION THAT SAVED UNITED KINGDOM FROM GOING COMPLETELY BANK RUPT AFTER THE WORLD WAR....its not and can never be a NATION

Ask yourselves why you're doing politics of its our turn
Oh its our turn in 2095 and when its our turn we can do what ever we want...these kind of politics happens when the slave masters wants to hold their slaves down forever

The British supported Nigeria during the war since biafra was trying to break out from a failed British experiment.

Colonization did more harm than good.

What saved Nigeria is the European powers that supported her against Biafra if not they couldn't have done much like they did against Biafra

Biafran propaganda worked on these ones. Not on the whole world. When Igbo soldiers chose to kill the Nigerian Prime minister, Northern Premier Western Premier, they thought they would keep having their way. To crown more insult, an Igbo man became the head of state and refused to execute the murderers, Nzeogwu, Ifeajunna, etc.

Blood was shed and justice was not served. The other part of Nigeria were not fools, they took power back by force. That is when Igbos remembered Biafra, after destabilizing a newly independent nation. Knowing they could not win the war, they started propaganda showing their children with Kwarshiokor to plead for world sympathy.

Glad the British, Americans, Russians stood their ground. Biafra was a rogue nation that didnt need to stand. and in 1970, the nation of Biafra ceased to exist.

Insult me all you want, but you know this is the blunt truth. You dont kill a head of state without consequences. This doesn't exonerate the pogrom killings by the Northerners of Igbos then, that was the height of savagery and wickedness. The innocent Igbos didn't deserve that. Deep in my heart, I yearn for an Igbo to become president of Nigeria one day. But with your useless aspirants like Owelle Rochas, this aspiration may take awhile.

Monogamy:

It might not be from the easterners next time, it might be from the west or the middle belt whose people are murdered on daily basis.

If Nigeria refuses to treat everyone equally then a generation will arise with arms in defense and declare war on Nigeria while other region will stand out.
