I filled form on Monday as against next week bidding for T-bills and by Wednesday, my money has been deducted. Wasn't the money deducted so fast since trading is still next week.

I was at Zenith Bank yesterday to make enquiries and I was told that the new cbn policy does not affect tbills in any way as long as I'm not a debtor or owing money anywhere. I'm waiting for the next auction date which is sometime next week to see if my request for tbills will go through and what the interest rate will be.

No more tbs, I'm at first bank right now, the guy said they got a message frm cbn yesterday not to accept individual investments, both on secondary n primary markets, is this the END? He said its in d news already

First bank has always been giving stories. Pls is there any other bank one can walk into for TBills or do I just try another branch of first Bank?

My own experience was different though maybe because I went there too early. I was in a Stanbic branch and was told it's too early then I remembered their global market opens around 10:30. Went back there at about 10:40 am and was told nothing is available for secondary market so I left only to later start seeing 125days here. Then it was to late for me.

Not smart but being pure thieves. Its a shame we don't have regulations to checkmate all this rubbish.You can imagine how much they will make with his money in these number of days.smh

All this nonsense happen because there's no law and order.In a sane society,its enough to slap them with a hefty civil suit

Oga just carry your money enter stanbic ibtc bank.....as them FGN Bonds available in the secondary market. ....they will show you all available bonds with their offer and coupon percentages. ......you just choose anyone you like and you will be debited the same date. ......coupon payments will start on the stated date for the bond.

Very simple. .....



The charge for cutodian fees is the koko thing ....

Stanbic ibtc. ...0.05% of your face value investment x number of years of your bond

Afri-invest (what I saw in their website was). .....1% of your face value investment x number of years of your bond.


I think 1m may be OK for stanbic. ...though I didn’t ask them.

Nobody is withdrawing any money. Once you fill that form it means you already made up your mind to invest your then your money is earmarked. Even in other banks where you may see your money ( earmark sum for TB ) in your ledger balance, you will see that most times they have already placed a lien on it you will not be able to withdraw the amount proper t. You can see but can't withdraw because you have already requested them to invest it on your behalf. It's not easy harmonising all the request.. also bidding is not done branch by branch. Even if they was any law as you think there should be, they will only adjust their terms and conditions. Once you agree to go with the terms the law will have no effect on them.

My thoughts too.

Nigerians in the diaspora alone can loan the government most of the money they keep requesting from China, World bank, etc, through TBs. It is an investment in its own right.

The government should, in turn, use the loan we give through TBs to develop critical business infrastructures, incentives and security of lives and problems, then they will see if we wont invest in the real economy naturally.

Aww....boss, suretrader had issues, they parted ways with there clearing broker. They would now be called F1trade.

Whatever u need....just ask....

Guys, regarding bonds.

I was told these are the rates
10.9 for 2yrs
11.36 for 3 yrs.

How come someone was quoting 16.2% for yields in bonds, how is it calculated cos most bank staff have no clue.
