How, I like to give people the benefits of the doubt, when I have no bad intention towards you why should I not trust people?

You are not alone in this cogitation ; the harsh condition of life has demonised the average man . Evil brews over the surface of the earth ,dog eats dog, only the strongest can survive....

I have lived an eventful life in Nigeria and I can assure you it is one of the most dangerous countries on the planet. Everyone seems to have some madness stuffed in his head and your unguarded conscience is assaulted by the epidemic disease of the mind.

The average person is full of unrealistic fantasies and carries no burden nor assumes responsibility for himself or others. Greed ,envy, hatred, sour grape and what-have- you are rife among them.

What part of that did you miss?
To confirm with standards, she even paid his hospital bills, on seeing that standards have not been met(he still had hepatitis), she fired him. Now tell me how it's still her fault.
First you accused her of stereotypes, now you accuse her of flouting standards. What else will you accuse her of seeing she isn't guilty of these accusations you're leveling against her
The thing tire me o, I read the idiot's response and I just didn't know where to start from, he is a fool on several levels. Thanks for answering him.

Walahi you're just on point.

The day I heard what my boss' supposedly right hand man was saying about him ehn. I shock. You could see the envy and disgust all over him. If he sees a way of killing the boss and taking his place I'm sure he would do it. This is someone the oga trusts with almost everything. He has gathered followers... I'm just here looking...

It's because your boss always brag in his face or talk down at him if he makes mistakes or his boss could have embarrassed him in front of his female friends or guests, just to show his superior. So with time, resentments and hate will Keep growing in his mind towards the boss. It's only natural. While he swallows everything with a fake and quiet smile at his Boss. Behaving like mumu and all. Then he eventually strikes your boss when he least expect.

U can imagine ? He's already recruiting followers against your boss.

Your boss is in deep shiit! May God help him in this web, he has walked all by himself into.

I repeat nobody needs a right-hand man, who knows your in and out. If you want to live long and peacefully , don't have a right hand man, it's not safe.

Just be watching them o. Na the two of them sabi.

She's right to a large extent. One has to be careful with poor people. Who remembers the former VC of FUTA who was killed by his gateman and driver to steal his car? I also read of a Covenant University graduate that was killed by his gateman few days ago.

It all boils down to ignorance and hypocrisy in our messed-up society. It's a Nigerian thing, not confined to poor people as a group.

You have to be paranoid to survive in this country, always looking over your shoulder and second-guessing other people's motives even when they present themselves in a benevolent way.

A reckless businesswoman hired a boy who is not qualified according to the industry regulations.
Then, she got burnt in the process and decide to attack the "poor".

It isn't the poor who run down several banks in the Sanusi era, it is not the poor that accept contracts
and refuse to execute them. It isn't the poor that connive with suppliers to defraud their company.
It is unfortunate that I need to point this out in the first place.

If you took just a minute to think unlike this lady, you would realize that all her current employees
are most likely poor and they couldn't give her a similar problem because she probably followed the rule
while hiring them.

Apparently, neither she nor you got the real lesson from this experience.
She shouldn't have burdened the business with unnecessary risks.
She shouldn't treat a business like a charity and lastly, she should have accepted
responsibility for her failure as a manager instead of looking for the poor to blame.

In case you still think this is a problem of the poor, let her fire all her terrible poor workers and hire the rich.
Let us see how successful her eatery will become with the saintly and loyal rich staff.
Oh, the rich won't accept her slave-level wage, to begin with.

Anybody who can't connect basic dots has no business running a business.
Is it the rich that steals goods from ware house and sells it? or the rich that uses your property to do business in your absence damages it and abadons it? or the rich that inflates prices of things like car repair or food stuff, i got to know a bag of corn was 12k last year whereas I've been paying 15-18 for the past 3 years before that.

Don't brag about your life to their faces. If they ask u any personal question? Be brief about it and stylishly inreturn ask them about their own life.

Don't promise what u cannot give. Little change Or gifts here and there sometimes keep smiles on their faces and remove evil thougts of harming you.

Don't bring them to your home, if you know u set up your home to the teeth with exotic gadgets and all. Always meet up either at workplace or public place. Be humble be respectful with smiles . Help them with stuffs if u have, but don't be too familiar with them. Behave sympathetic when they are talking about their struggles in life and pray for them before u take your leave, after advising them on what they should or should have done. Their heart will soften towards u, no matter how rich u look or behave.

That's a way of making people not resent you, if u seem to have more than enough.

If they don't see how much u are enjoying at home, or know how much u take home? They won't plan against you. What the eyes does not see? The heart doesn't grieve over.

Just be kind , sympathetic with words and facial expressions then ,respectful and don't forget to say, Eeyah the Lord is your strength. God will lift u up when u least expect and remember God has not forsaken you. Keep praying God is on your case in Jesus name Amen. Say the short prayer with them when they talk about how hard life is. And u will see the joy and smile in their faces, as they look into your eyes to know if u are faking it or being real.
If your look is sincere they won't plan evil against u.

But if the expression in your eyes is fake? Then u are in deep shiiit! cheesy

It's simple for me anyways.

I know how to handle people from different class.

You can as well ask your "poor" senators and governors the same question.
There is no difference between poor and rich Nigerians.
Those who want to cheat will cheat and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
Rather than whining like this lady, the right thing is to become strict and monitor every transaction.

The Nigerian poor are wicked and Nigerians generally are wicked? Wow shocked, see slander. Fact is, few peoples in the world are kinder than Nigerians are. However, as long as the Nigerian State does not take measures that hold individuals accountable for the things they state online, Nigerians will suffer as the world learns only falsehoods about them. These falsehoods endanger Nigerians that have means to travel abroad since negative reputation precedes them and makes foreigners guarded and defensive, which sometimes leads to regrettable overact ions. Conversely, it helps to impoverish poor Nigerian in Nigeria since it negatively affects potential investments in Nigeria.

I hear motions to moderate the flippant, bombastic and false information peddled online are in consideration at the Nigeria National Assembly. If so, I hope censuring and accountability laws are quickly passed. It cannot come quick enough.

Accountability both for online and offline, we dont want a situation where some folks group themselves online after stalking others offline. Common with Nigerians.

I beg to disagree. Your quote is correct in most cases, but it doesn't hold in cases whereby you used to live in a poor area and you made it, my brother these guys that know you and know you used to be will be the ones to envy you and wish you bad. That's what is called crab mentality and also entitlement mentality. Let me share my own experience. I finished my youth service in 2007 and I was fortunate to be retained in the bank where I worked and as a result I never had to send my CV to look for job. I had this thing of being the humble one and not bragging about my achievement so most times I try to be nice and lend a helping hand even as far as trying to see if they can get jobs in my bank on fridays when I hang out I buy beer for them. But guess what in 2009 during Sanusi's era I was retrenched them, could you believe that these same guys I was nice to were the ones that mocked me and said bad things about me behind my back. Statements like ehen God don catch na so I'm go dey do like say na I'm be the only one wey dey work for bank me foolishly I was being nice to them as I never knew. I later got a contract job in one of the Telcos and these boys started mocking me this time they began showing it to my face since they felt I was finished. At that point I cried to God and I resolved to keep far from them, and you know God works in mysterious ways my former boss now reached out to me and I was called poached to the bank where she worked and I was given a higher level than I was before. I kept that news hidden from them lastly when they found out they were so ashamed because they had exposed their hand and they know they cannot come near me again.
You see being poor is not like it is an evil thing per say, but it is a temporary condition where the Nigerian case is bad is that not only are they poor but have a dangerous combination of crab(pull him down) mentality and entitlement mentality which makes them so envious and wicked and full of greed.
I also have another scenario. I had a colleague whose wife in her company had a need for buyers of diesel. I had a friend from my own hood that used to be in the downstream business but left when the company fortunes dwindled. The business hadn't materialized and this guy had already started scheming to cheat me. When I blocked him off from cheating me that was the last I heard from him again

You have said it all bro...wickedness has nothing to do with class, regardless of who you are if you are wicked you are wicked.Let's all be reminded that karma visit people in any form. Most of these rich people got their wealth in a dubious and disheartening manner, most of them got their wealth by taking advantage of the poor people. If your parents got their wealth in a dubious way or you were raised with a dubious wealth, karma may come for you in any form.
