I do understand that, its their business to grant or deny but in a more professional manner. They will never get away with that in any advanced country
I don't think the rules differ in other countries, say for instance

1. Candidate A is from South Africa

2. Candidate B is from Seychelles

3 Candidates C is from Botswana

4 Candidate D is from Mauritius

5 Candidates E is from Ghana

6. Candidate F is from Nigeria.

Let's assume all things been equal, all of them are all residents in Nigeria with the same profile, same age, likely same ties, all going for the same / similar conference but interviewed by different VO's, what do you think might likely be the outcome? several factors might likely play out during the interview session with the different applicants, who among the countries above have serial visa abusers / overstayers, credibility issues, etc you might be surprised to see that candidates A to D might get the visa but E and F might be denied based on several factors but solely on the discretion of the VO's

Visa Denied 8/11/2019.
I am still trying to get over it.
Consulate Office Abuja.
Appointment time : 8:00am

I arrived at the embassy 5:00am. I was the only one so I stayed with the Mopol.
Fast forward to some minutes pass 7. We started accreditation.
I was 1 to 13 people that were interviewed, was in a high spirit, smiling all through. Then I was called in, have forgotten the window number.
Vo: Elderly frowning white lady in her late 40s
Me: Good morning
Vo: ignored. Pass your passport. Where are you going to?
Me: **** conference
Vo: Have you traveled out before?
Me: No.
Vo: Sorry you are not eligible. Handing over my passport and blue paper
Me: I have something to say.
Vo: I don't wanna hear it. Next person.

My interview was approximately 4 seconds. It was like a shock as I felt like an infidel the way she asked me to leave, her treatment was so bad as if I was an outcast. She never looked at me. At least she should have allowed me to talk. Meanwhile she denied everyone she interviewed before me.

But I give God all the Glory at least I have experienced it.

Mind you this reason to visit the US has been casted out and known to have little to no chances of getting approved.

I bet you don't know that hundreds of people have used that so-called "to attend conference" route to overstay their legal presence in the US going into years now.

Waist of time...believe it.

That's exactly the problem. No one wants to make a sacrifice - waste of time or not. If everyone sings from the same page about the way and manner Nigerians are being treated at the embassy, maybe there will be an improvement.

I am not talking about granting visas or not. They need to treat people like humans - with respect and dignity! telling someone who has paid for a service "i don't want to hear what you have to say" is rude and condescending. She should have at least taken a minute to listen and still uphold her decision.

"Your problem is not problem" is what is still making people go through treatments of such!

Has your own Country Nigeria done any better to its Citizens?

Its not about granting visa or not... its about showing respect and business courtesy regardless of your profile or demographics - even if the VO can see through an intended migrate. If i have paid for a service i expect to be treated decently. The more people that apply for visa, the more money they make. So there is a strong correlation and they need to understand that. If only genuine people apply, they will not make less profit for sure

l am not a spokesman for any embassy, Nigeria Embassy has also been accused of the same thing you are accusing the US embassy of?.

The money making angle does not cut it, if you want to be treated like the Emperor extraordinaire of Africa because you applied for a visa, you are not ready to travel, visa is not a right, it is a privilege, if US refuses you visa or treats you with disdain, sit down in your country, hold your thieving politicians to fix the country or apply for visa elsewhere to another country.

The US embassy will not portrate for you or treat you like the Queen or king of Heaven because you paid visa fees, they have the right to refuse or deny you and if part of the denial process is what you called been rude or lack of customer care to applicants, then sit down in your country or else you will continue whinning till eternity and nothing will happen grin

I don’t understand. Why are you indirectly discouraging people?
If the person decides to send a formal complaint because of perceived displeasable treatment at the embassy... what exactly is your business and why are you saying these insensitive things? It is entirely up to them.. not you.

I can assure you that everyone has a right to positive service no matter the outcome of the visa application.

Yes, anybody can make complaints about an unpleasant service they recieved from an Embassy or Company on twitter...but it still doesn't show proof of such complaints to be right or wrong.
