How many of our local rice farmers are into mechanise rice production in large scale that will supply this factory for better processing?

Inadequate local supply? guess you believe Dangote got to where he is today without adequate market research? Really?

As at 2016 we had 12m small rice growers on 4m hectares under the FADAMA project
Rice production was 5.8m but totally paddy field was 17.5m. You can see the gap between what was grown and what was produced. That gap is milling capacity. Hence structures like this. And do bear in mind that production is still growing yy-yy big time.

And as regards the absence of mechanised rice growing - well, see Cross River Governments effort below

I woke up this morning to find Chenzen topic gone. @Redcreme21 that's how your pal BlueAir operates. He is currently on ban *(still on Nl but can on share comment not like them or comment) when he sees what he hates he logs out and returns as Globalman2018, whcih is free to roam, and hits the report button.

As I suspected e's been hitting report buttons on Chenzen's thread which brought mode's attention to it. This is cos he can't allow it stand after my allusion to his defeat in our beef. He got himself banned again by the way.

@BlueAir, just so you know it. I know you are following me upandan but i don't care. That's until i get banned then you become my only business on NL again that's how we will be doing since you love to romance report buttons far more than Redcreme21's body. Better go and apologize to her for your insult before she hates you and withdraws your exclusive access to her very perfumed body for life.

First let me start by saying I'm a muslim so what I'm about to say should not sound as if I'm supporting Christian but why is it that every December. Fuel price will jump up there will be scarcity of fuel? This year what we are going through November. Now what will happen in December no rice for the Christians to celebrate their Christmas I don't want to bring religion into this but it seems like the government don't care

Are you experiencing fuel scarcity? Where are you?

Structures like this should have been in operation before the border closure

You people are missing the point! This assumptions are becoming annoying!

Buhari didn't close the border to encourage local producers.

He closed the border because there's too much smuggling.

Please don't appear as someone as bereft of ideas as your president

Would you buy Naija rice if they sell it half the price of the Thailand rice in the market before they close the border?

Must we import what we consume as a nation?
I am sure you know the giant scam behind petrol import and subsidies in Nigeria.

Let us become agricultural nation. Let government and private sectors go into rice production.

Let us refine our oil, let's stop wasting our forex on importing food.
Should we be importing gaari too?

If we have to close the border for us to sit right so be it.

One thing I can tell you is that 90% of Nigerians are not eating imported rice this Christmas and I am happy with that.

Yes, to answer your question I am not sure if what answer to give you. What do you think?

I drink fresh milk every morning, straight from the farm at about €2 per litre. Why can't the herdsmen supply milk in Nigeria?

Yeah, Peak milk and Cowbell will be banned and then we are going to wake up.

I support the FG's efforts. If they have to pull out of ECOWAS and AU to make the country better so be it.

So its because d border was closed that this mill was built?

Nysc corper and unemployed Nigerian should be linked with ministry of Agriculture to provide sound farm practice and farm implements,training,monitoring,agro-chemical be released.
If the government is will people will go to farm..
Loans are only given to the big men that will not have farm but will collect money because he knows someone at CBN.
This should be checked.
Let govt provide centers that will the agro produce, process it and with this, the surplus would not always waste like we see all time.
