For someone who earns 250k monthly. Is 600k okay for rent per year. With serviced appartment that comes with everything including dstv.

No NO No No No No!

Your rent should fall between 200k - 250k

Get a proper house.

Well, presently my place costs about 200 Yearly.

My salary is same as yours. Though I have a side business which fetches me double of what I earn from time to time.. But I planned ahead and saved up before securing the apartment.

There's no set time for getting your own apartment. If you know you are not extravagant, you can spend on things of priority and cultivate a habit of saving. Also, look for a side hustle.
can I DM u to know more about the side hustle ?

Back then I was earning about 80k from my regular job and about $250 from my side hustle.

The rent was 400k per year since its a serviced apartment. They take care of everything for you.

Was I able to pay the rent the next time it expired?

Yes... I knew my hustle would bloom... So it wasn't much of an issue...

The difference between my rent and my earnings now is several thousands of dollars... And I don't work full time again.

So you can calculate yours and make sure that your rent doesn't take more than 30% of your annual rent.

Bush boy show your boy way? How can I earn extra man.?

Not really though. Every works their ass out here oh! All hands must be on deck grin

Its all grace and favour. Those that earn #20 000 may probably work harder.

Its long I understood that working physically hard is not a guarantee of wealth. Ask wheel barrow pushers etc

Move u will survive. Get a house u can manage with payment.on mainland u can still get a room self contain for total payment of 200k-250k or move to island with slight difference. U can survive. Just get the first payment. After which u can split payment into 2 or 3times a year. As for me when. Get my place 3yrars ago. M business brought in less than 30k amonth it took me time to save up . Now I am doing fine by God's grace. Am presently in a mini flat paying 200k. You can get something of such or a room self con of 100-150k ..u be good

Re: How Much Was Your Monthly Earning When You Secured Your Own Apartment? by Akexstinger(m): 7:43am On Nov 20, 2019
Even when I was earning 60k gross, I was staying in a clean room self contain with its own kitchen and Toilet and the rent per year was 60k. It was a new apartment, I launched the toilet and other facilities so I felt comfortable and happy. Although paying for the first time was around 130k. All thanks to MMM.
I was there and got a job of 176k and was still there until when the job became strenous and I resigned, went back to the 60k job, was still there and then got another job of 200k, was still there until I got another job above 300k which happened to be in another state and had to relocate. Guy make sure u have money in your account so that incase a bigger job shows up you can meet up and not give excuses. Your house rent should only take 1 month and a half of your two month salaries else you will be working for the landlord. Even now that I earn bigger, the house I am staying is still smaller than my one month salary....it is a brand new one room and parlour , every thing standard with its own meter, fence. Never listen to outsiders, na only you know ur pocket. If your friends cant feel comfortable where you live then let them go n look bush. If your gf is ashamed of you, then she aint your gf

Your work location matters. Get a house closer to ur office. Start group monthly contributions (10k for 10ppl), It Will help you pay for the next rent. I started with 50k salary.

I had heard that if your monthly salary cannot take care of your annual rent, then that accommodation is beyond your means.

I started with 50k but presently earns 70 but am still not convinced of leaving my Parents. I stay alone in one room out other our 3bedroom flats. The worst is that a good one room self con I. ENUGU goes for 250k.

This Enugu where I dey so?

A good one room self-con here fluctuates between 130-150.

I earn 80k monthly, I pay 150k yearly. Location: In the heart of the city.

Can't just keep my eyes off this thread. All these people saying, they earn $2k-4k monthly as online biz and 500k-600k as side biz, are you trafficking humans or big size mini importation of discrete products?
Those earning that as salary is still plausible though.
But please Don't let people start stealing or doing ritual.
if it's legit, at least reply people.abi You dey carry am go heaven?
