Well said Brother. That is the beauty of the thread.

When I first came across this thread too, I did enjoyed myself and going by my person, I definitely would resist the temptation of jumping on the train of commentators already and I always keep asking myself why didn't I know about the thread early than now though.

I would put in Finidi as head coach immediately no question.

He has nothing to learn from anybody in the NFF or Amumeke for that matter.

Is Gareth Southgate better than him or more knowledgeable. Having Finidi who is not begging for money but wanting to create a name would be the best option.

Anybody familiar with the NFF is more likely to concede to unethical practices and dubious alliances.

Finidi is a Fresh face with no excess questionable luggage.

Nice input but I am a big fan of the mass screening process. Finidi has not done it before. Working with Amunike will familiarise him with the system, then he can go on from there.

Finidi applied to coach Nigerian under 17 a while back.

This guy has been a youth team coach in Spain and Holland.

He was the assistant manager of PEC Zwolle under 19 for some years. He also worked with Mallorca youth.

The Dutch and Spanish philosophy will be great for our youth players.

He should replace Manu or Aigbogun.

Amuneke is not a good senior coach. At least not yet.. He needs more experience.

Even Finidi needs experience at senior level

It is U17 I am talking about. Even though I believe Amunike is capable of handling the senior team now, I feel another work in the U17 is critical to increase our pool of top quality players. I think it is much needed.

In the light of Amuneke unlikely to return to age grade football, Finidi is definitely my choice for either the U-17 or U-20.

He can only coach one of these two age grade teams. That still leaves us with one more role to fill.

read what online? so because he worked with ajax, betis and mallorca he should be handed the super eagles job without any pronounced experience in coaching?

aigbogun who flopped with the flying eagles wasnt he trained and tutored in england before he got his badges?

sunday oliseh after getting his batches coached a third tier club in belgium where he did decently well, moved to fortuna sittard in the dutch 2nd tier and almost took them to the top flight before he left. few weeks ago he turned down an offer to coach in the belgian top flight for reasons best known to him. his CV currently is good enough to secure top jobs atleast in the african continent and the middle east if he decides to apply for jobs again.

all i am saying is that finidi should start from some where first. coaching youth sides of ajax and mallorca i doubt will entice anyone to give him a shot in mens football

I watched Gerrard coach Liverpool U18 mow he is in Rangers.

I can assure it will not be long before he is in the EPL. Where was Frank Lampard coaching before he went to Championship Derby County fc

Finidi is able and DEFINITELY CAPABLE.

What experience dud Rudd Hullit and his good friend FRANK RIJKARD have before becoming the manager of Holland.

Knowledge and innovation are not the first borns of Experience.

I don't want him to tint his character, integrity and then INNOVATION, KNOW HOW UNDERSTANDING with the experience of the NFF.

Through a press release published on their official website, French Ligue 1 outfit Lille have confirmed the departures of Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos.

The two coaches will be part of Jose Mourinho's backroom staff at Tottenham Hotspur.

Sacramento became assistant manager under Lille head coach Christophe Galtier in January 2017 and will now assist Mourinho at Tottenham, while Santos, who was the goalkeeping coach at Les Dogues, will take up a similar position at the North London club.

Mourinho has been spotted at Lille's home ground, Stade Pierre-Mauroy (Villeneuve d'Ascq), after leaving Manchester United in December 2018 and watched Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen net his last goal in the Ligue 1 against Nîmes Olympique on October 6.

Shortly after winning the Golden Boot award at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup, the ex-Golden Eaglets sensation was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham, only for his agent to dismiss the reports.

Mourinho's new deal with Spurs runs out at the end of the 2022-2023 season.

Ejimadu wins USL Save of the Year Award

Philip Ejimadu - Award winner in USA

US-born Nigerian goalkeeper Philip Ejimadu has put his name in United Soccer League (USL) record books after he won the Save of the Year Award.

The Los Angeles FC goalkeeper, who played on loan at FC Tucson, beat seven other nominees to the award which was decided by votes from fans.

Ejimadu had earlier made history as the first goalkeeper to win the first-ever Save of the Month Award in USL in April with his acrobatic save against South Georgia Tormenta FC.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper garnered 52% of the total vote of 3332 against finalist Ryan Coulter of Forward Madison FC’s 42% of the votes.

Ejimadu’s Save of the Month of August was also nominated for the award.

Other nominees were Pablo Jara, South Georgia Tormenta FC, Dallas’ Jaye, Greenville Triumph SC, Kyle Zobeck, North Texas SC and Akira Fitzgerald of Richmond Kickers

The elated Ejimadu told SCORENigeria he is delighted to win the award which will motivate him more.

“I am delighted to win this award,” he declared.

“It was not easy winning it, it was a close call, but I am happy I won at the end.

“I thank all the fans who voted for me. This will motivate me to do more and get better.”

That may or may not be true. Although l have my doubts she went university and is professionally qualified and don't think I would tag her an air head.

However, that's not the issue.

But the manner that she was removed from office. That's the issue. There are many air heads in government and in the NA. Infact there have been a few illiterates.

The issue is that NYSC exemption certificate is not an academic qualification. It's an administrative exercise of attestation to say you are not required to complete NYSC. That's all.

She didn't forg the certificate it was found not be valid. Do you know how many driving licences in the past issued by the official licensing office are invalid. In my estimated millions.

It's also blatant hypocrisy and selective double standard. The President to date has not been able to tender his school certificate. Pot calling the kettle black.

Only in Nigeria.

Sorry I digress but back to football.

My problem with Aunty Kemi was her NYSC certificate or lack thereof. Actually, I had called for her firing even before the entire certificate scandal.
I don't know whom she gbenshed to get there (probably Tinubu) but I think she was incompetent and totally unqualified for the job.

My problem with her has nothing to do with the forgery. If you follow me on twitter, you'd know that I started calling for her firing after less than 6 months of her appointment. She was grossly incompetent and not qualified to be trusted with such an important portfolio. The Finance minister is too important a position to be trusted to a rookie.

I think it would be a mistake to compare Finidi, Jay Jay, Oliseh, Ikpeba and other Nigerian ex internationals with the likes of Gullit, Lampard, Gerrard, etc. Unlike their Euro counterpart, anytime I listen to our ex internationals analyze the game, I always reach the conclusions that playing the game doesn't necessarily make you all knowledgeable about the game. Bottom line, most of our ex internationals are empty when it comes to game analysis, match reading, and game management.

To this day, the only former players who have impressed me with their game analysis are: Segun Odegbami, Sunday Oliseh, and Samson Sia Sia. The other ones are nothing to write home about.

I sincerely hope we can get Amuneke to give age grade Football coaching one final shot.

He could rescind His initial stance of not going back to the Age-grade challenge as a gaffer anyway going by the interview he granted way back in September to Brila fm oo

Read below

Former Tanzania National team Chief Coach Emmanuel Amunike has backed CHAN Eagles Coach Imama Amapakabo’s recent comment after his side’s 4-1 defeat to Togo.

In an interview with brila.net, Amunike admitted that African players lack the tactical awareness and advised that it’s time to go back to teaching the players in Africa the basics of football.

”Our players are good with raw talent but lack the tactical awareness, there is a need to be taught all the basics of football right from the age-grades”.

According to him, players from the continent of Africa can’t survive with speed and strength alone but needs tactical ability, and if that is lacking in them, they always struggle and find it difficult to compete abroad, Amunike stated.
