Franeby:
Hello everyone, pls i have a question.. so my agent filled my application(which i now know i should have done myself). I joined Nairaland not too long ago.

Heres my dilenma. I asked her recently to forward me d soft copy of the application so i can go through it and then i observed where they asked if uve ever been denied a visa or entry into any country before, she filled no. but in my case in 2008/9, i applied for a student visa to the US. upon my interview, d consular asked me to go get some documentation i didnt have at the time from my school and reapply but i never went back to the embassy because by the time, i got the info, my life had progressed here in Nigeria so i was no longer intrested.

I applied for my Canadian visa, August 7th, got a mail October 30th asking me to make formal payment arrangement with a canadian health authority and revert, which i have done and waiting for their reply.

Realising this error in my application- pls what do u advise i do? i will really appreciate your response..

Thank you.
Your visa was not denied; it would have been classified under either of these two:
1. ‘not approved because it was incomplete’ or
2. ‘cancelled’

The agent should have explained your peculiar situation in the form or via a cover note. You can still contact them and explain your situation as your case does not necessarily involve sending additional supporting documents. Alternatively, do nothing as I do not think this omission would count against you.

Hello gurus in the house, please I am not sure of what 'CALAPKT' means on my passport tracking , when other people's tracking IDs carry 'CALATRV'. I applied for a visiting visa from Nigeria and I have submitted my passport only to see that my tracking ID looks different from other visiting visa applicants'.

from my experience, ill say fill ur forms and do ur application yourself.. reading through this thread, i wish i came here earlier and did my application my self cos i have many evidences that wasnt attached to my application but im still very hopeful. i dont think anyone will do it better than urself.

Agents come in handy for things like hospital, doctor, accomodation depending on what you are travelling for. Like in my case when i was asked to pay my hospital bills upfront, hospitals were not forthcoming as i was sending mails and calling from naija but my agent used their contact in Canada to get me a hospital, went there and made payment.

if u have someone in canada to this all for u, den u might not need them but i really think u should fill ur forms urself and prepare ur documentation.

Good day Ladies/Gentlemen,

I trust you all are doing great.

Firstly, I commend the help and information on how to get visit/tourist visa to Canada.

I want to apply for a visiting visa to visit my sibling that live in Canada and this is what my situation looks like.

-My sibling is a PR and works with one of the top IOC's in Canada.
-He wants to sponsor me (Accommodation, food, Etc).
-He can provide payslips, PR status, employment letter, bank statements and Etc
-I work in a corporate organization, so getting introduction/reference letter and payslips is not a problem.
-I have strong family ties. (I have landed properties, some in my name and others jointly owned with him, and I have a good job).
- No travel history.
- No visa denial

My questions:
- What is my chances of getting a visiting visa?
- Do I need other documentations or requirement?
-How long(3months, 6months or 1year) visiting visa can I get?
- I need a guide to walk through this process.

Thank you.

You have to be careful with agents. 99% guaranteed visa is impossible when you are not the Canadian government or Immigration personnel who will issue the visa. That alone is a red flag. I won’t advise you pay such amount of money to any agent when you can do it yourself.

I Went for my Biometrics today... need to save someone else from the stress I went through... If you need to go for Biometrics either you applied via paper route or online, YOU NEED TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT FIRST!!...The process changed this month... save yourself the headache of getting there without having an appointment booked... Cheers'!

@Awani007,
My advice is do it yourself, I did it myself, saves you money and false hope, I have never used an agent for any visa application, but I have heard more negative stories of agents than those who did on their own from friends and family. There are good agents who know what they are doing but they are very very few.

I need assistance with my visit visa. I had my biometric in September and eligibility review started during the second week in October. Is there a way to call or figure out what might be happening with my case? Cos the eligibility review is still ongoing as of today and taking forever.
