What they didn't realize is that N15m compares to nothing with the kind of live they'll live in Canada. Yes, I'm also in Canada and know what I'm talking about.

You see, the problem with an average Nigerian is that they think once they have the money all their problems are gone. But how can you have N15m and still be breathing generator fumes and be spending hours in traffic, why can't you build your own road and NEPA?

Talking about the N15m self, that's less than what you'll get as a full time student with the Ontario Student Assistant Program (OSAP) loan and grants.

With OSAP, you'll get as high as $28k times two for a two year course, or times four for a four years course. $20k is a grant and 8k is loan. Which means you're getting 40k free for two years or 80k free for 4 years, with added knowledge and qualifications.

And in applying and getting osap, you'll do everything in the comfort of your bedroom. You don't need to know nor have any connections with anybody. As a matter of fact, not even a single call is needed to be made. Just submit all the right documents online.

Now, tell me, which one would you prefer?

True but...the statement says immigrate to Canada, who go give u osap. Na per hour job u go still do to earn money. Canada is a better place on the long run but it'll take a strong person to survive the first year in Canada without any pre existing financial backup from home . its basically trying to start a new life in a foreign country. Me I will choose 15mills o, Canada is not going anywhere, immigration can always be done

Let me make my own case on this matter. You do not have to agree with me on what I am going to say. This is just my take and opinion on this topic smiley smiley smiley.

Most of the food in Canada is processed food. You have the opportunity of eating natural food in Nigeria 85% of the time. Most African meals are very natural and nutritious without any processing input. In Canada, most of the food will be in Cans,Tins and Packets. We don't value what we have in Africa. The western world is a business machine that keeps grinding on a 24 hours basis. This machine needs immigrants to keep it running. Immigrants are the fuel that makes Canada, USA, UK etc run well. There is no doubt about that. Everything in Canada is organized in such a way that the Country benefits from you more than you benefit from the Country. Yes, the system is not perfect in Nigeria and we have a lot of problems. If we can remove the GREED that dwells in a lot of Nigerians, the country will be better for it. Our Parents should take it easy in their quest to 'eat the fruits of their Labour'. They should stop using all sorts of tricks and lies to obtain money from their children sometimes. If we can sort out this problem of an 'Entitlement Mentality' from our society in Nigeria, Nigeria will become one of the best places to live in the world.

If you are in Nigeria, you have the luxury of eating very natural food from all parts of the country. Food prices are different all over the country. You can grow most crops in Nigeria in your home, I'm telling you. Why did people stop having gardens in their home in Nigeria? Western food is not that nutritious and this is why you find Asian Restaurants having a lot of patronage from white people. I have seen family members who are 60 years + in UK,USA etc and they have not achieved much. That plate of Eba and vegetable soup you will eat tonight, do you know how much you will pay for it in Canada? What about the mental illnesses and cancer among the whites and native populations of Canada, Australia etc? If you continue eating this Processed food for a long time, coupled with the weather, you might develop illnesses as time goes on. There are so many Positives and Negatives of living in Canada or in Nigeria cool cool cool cool cool. One thing I know is that Nigeria is a very virgin and untapped land which has a lot of opportunities. There is nothing wrong in emigrating to Canada though. Cheers.

No one, you based most of your argument on eating natural food, and also talked about Canada using immigrants to oil the wheel of her economy as if there's anything wrong in that. Nigeria that is using her citizens to oil the wheel of her economy, where has it taken her to, poverty capital of the world, just as the same Nigerian citizens claim, which in my view is not true anyway.

Now talking about eating natural food or not, ever since I've moved to Canada, I've been eating Okomu Oil from Delta, and I bought it right here in Milton, from my fellow Nigerian at farmstead. She sells yellow garri, white Ìjẹ̀bú garri, Yam fluour (elubọ̀), Maggi chicken, Knorr Chiken, Milo, Ola-Ola poundo Yam, bitter leaf, dry ugu, name it. Indomie, semolina, etc. And I buy my life Ogunfe, killed fresh same day, in Brampton. So, if it is food, I mean Nigerian Food, sis you missed it.

If I pay 25 dollars for a plate of eba and vegetables in Canada, that's like roughly 7k in náírà. That's less than an what I make as income in an hour. Besides, it is not even true that we spend that much to eat eba and vegetables in our house in Canada. We cook in our homes. The truth is no matter how you try to demonise it, they are no where compareble.

Right now, as I type this, I'm in the hospital to see my family doctor and everything is FREE of charge, covered by OHIP -Ontario Health Insurance Plan.

African food is expensive abroad and you will have to shell out a lot of money to eat stuff like Eba, Amala, Semovita, Ewedu, Ogbono, Bitterleaf etc on a daily or regular basis for yourself smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley. Not to talk of feeding your family on African food. These are things we must understand. You will never understand the advantage you have in eating natutal food. Do you know how nutritious Cocoyam is? The same Cocoyam we used to plant in our homes in Nigeria in the 70's, 80's and 90's cool cool cool cool cool. Do you know how nutritious Millet and Sorghum are? Do you know how many different types of meals you can make from Millet and Sorghum? We have so many vegetables that grow wild in Nigeria or can be cultivated on a large scale. Why did we stop planting food crops in our homes? Have you not noticed that you tend to grow weaker in Canada, UK or the USA over the years as you eat processed food all the time, and see very little of the Sun? Hmn.

Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world both in absolute numbers and relative proportion.

So I don't understand this argument. Canada has the highest number of millionaire in dollars per capita world wide.

I really don't understand what you guys are trying to prove . A regions budget in Canada is more than the national budget in Nigeria

That is the unfortunate reality.

Canada provides one of the best environments to raise a family, school and do business. Nigeria is one of the worst places to do business. If not for myself but for my children, I will prefer Canada. My kids need a better and secured future in canada than in Nigeria where the only secured future is for political, religious and traditional rulers.

Nobody has a secured future anywhere in the world.

Hmn. Feed your family on African food in Canada for 12 months and check out the bill. No be Moi Moi o. I don't want to discuss other aspects of immigration to Canada as I will write a PhD thesis on Nairaland. Sadly, we have very lazy and greedy politicians in Nigeria who don't know how to run a country effectively. Colonialism and the Transatlantic Slave Trade caused most of the problems Nigeria is having today. However, amidst all these problems confronting Nigeria, there are boundless opportunities and good chances of succeeding in Nigeria. Like I said, there is nothing wrong in living in Canada. Everyone to his or her own.

#15m isn't really much due to our devalued currency, it's just $41k or there about. However, reasons like the economic meltdown being experienced (with no clear policies to mitigate the situation), coupled with the level of insecurity, corruption, decayed infrastructure, Power, education and even in the health sector, no one is safe in this country. Hence, I'll pick the later option cause I believe on the long run, there are better prospects for someone (educated or skilled) in a country like Canada than 1 with #15m in Nigeria.

Even with all these things u have mentioned my brother,no place like Nigeria on this earth. I will still prefer my Nigeria than una Canada.

with all the so called natural food, we still don't live long, so what's the fuss with all the so called natural food.

Food is expensive when relative to the average persons income, or are you oblivious to to that fact? You keep yapping natural foods natural food as if it has helped in our health.

Leave them. It is normal to be foolish before getting wisdom. You talk about $20,0000. 70% of Canadians don't even have $1,000. Nigerians are the most brainwashed people in human history.

Young man. I won't lie to you. You can work your way to earning up to $200,000 Canadian per annum but it require a lot of work, sacrifice and it's not guaranteed. Been there before but you have to learn to kiss white man "asses" to keep your job. Moment you start showing you are the "man" they will frustrate you out of the system. Most Nigerians who are very successful in the white man system know how to do that. At least its money you want. Is it not?

What do I need to study to get such a job?

Life expectancy is different from the ages actually lived before death. Many people are still living up to 80 and 90 years in Nigeria. Early death occurs because of different reasons. Self inflicted sicknesses, drinking and smoking excessively, uncontrolled sex etc cut lives short all over the world. Don't be fooled by statistics piled on Nigeria by European and American agencies.

You also know that you don't have to have a phone contract at least in Australia, you can still top up right?

I know for a fact that living in Australia is better than living in Canada generally by the way. So I feel your pain ab out Canada

Lol for NI500 I get 6GB data in Nigeria. If you're a YouTube fan you'll watch videos as much as you want for cheap. I won't advertise the networks but I think data price is not too bad here don't give wrong impressions. Plus bonuses on calls are not bad at all. For example some networks give as much as 3 times the amount you recharge or even more.
