All I know is that, the longer it takes them to release the list, the lesser it's gonna be based on merit.
They should just come out and "annul" it like Abacha did in 1993 during IBB regime. Or what else could be the reason for the delay after about 5months from interview. Do they actually need new/more employees or they just wanna employ for employment sake? Cuz I can't imagine Restaurants, Hospitals, Construction firms, Banks et al needing staff, but still don't know when to call in successful candidates. I mean, if they really need us, how are they even operating since March when the vacancy came out? who are the people working in the position of the supposedly 1300 they wanna employ at the moment?





or are we going to be posted to new branches/SBUs like banks?

EH are of about 3 different cadre, so what cadre are you people referring to as being having to be replaced by contract staff Anyway, contract staff are in many organizations and when a position is vacant, there is no direct conversion of contract staff to any position because there is no such agreement that contract staff is going to metamorphise into full staff at any point in time. The only way to enter any organisation is either as a trainee or through a structured recruitment as an experienced hire.

If the contract staff are for direct conversion, or if the coperation has an initial agreement with them as at the time of thier engagement, they would have treated them first before advertising for external candidates.

Also not all positions require a contract staff, take for instance, there is no contract staff for some certain positions within an organisation. For instance is there a contract staff as a superintendent contract staff or supervisor contract staff or as management contract staff who will now be supervising fully employed officers? It can't work that way...If anyone told me that their are senior contract staff supervising regular staff, then the person is already telling me there is going to be a contract GMD someday...What I know is possible for mid management and senior management cadre are consultants and not contract staff managing a cooperation. Note that contract staff everywhere are usually junior cadres and not contract staff in management positions...

As posited by the former GMD, another recruitment process that will cater for those contract staffs that did not qualify for this will commence after closing this one.

NNPC retail just launched her lubricants; PPMC has put life back into some inactive depots. These are parts of the plans!

In between, number of hands have retired and even more nearing retirement

This is the first and only government Job I have applied to and I must confess it's the most mentally draining recruitment I have ever undertaken.
Prior to my interview on the 5th of July, I had registered to take IELTS on the 27th of July. The addictive nature of this thread didn't allow me study hard enough as I was glued to my phone 24/7. As a consequence, I didnt get the desired score and also wasted 75k. From my experience, my obsessive daily thoughts about how life would be alot better when Apl comes was my greatest undoing. Fortunately, I retook the test and got my desired band score.
Here is my advise. While we wait, plz learn a new skill, apply to other jobs, scholarships etc., and more importantly learn to manage expectations.

Once upon a time, dis was an awesome thread, lots of sophisticated an awesome characters, high morale. I won't lie one of d main reasons I wanted this job is to meet some of the guys here & work with them for a bit.....but most of them have already moved on now.



Regarding to backdoor recruitment, it's extremely rampant, just imagine ur worst case scenario, then multiply it by 5. Don't get me started on CBN, it's d worst even compared to FIRS. NNPC is a saint when it comes to this sort of thing, I assure you guys merit will be favored on this recruitment. I know lots of people who don't even know a security guard at NNPC but got in on merit. Just relax, If this job is yours, nobody will take ur spot, even if na Donald Trump recommend am.

Gosh, it was really mentally draining as Andre92 posited. But glad steps have been taken and alternatives are glaring.

For those who prefer Nigeria to remain backward because they benefit from mediocrity, Well! If you don't realise it now you will realise hopefully when it's not too late. A backward Nigeria is good for no one.

Until merit and hardwork because a strong basis for our work ethics in the country, we won't move forward.

Anyway, who am I? Lemme build what I can and influence positively those I can.

Disclaimer: I am still confident that NNPC will work with merit so don't let pessimists drain your energy.
