For those who are still new to Qa. Don't worry about your ratings yet. Because I'm pretty sure it's because you are still new. Trust me, when I started I hardly hear what those white guys say. I detest using "the release button". So I would prefer to have mis-heards than letting it go. I've had countless of 1s and 2s ratings. Whenever I get a 3, I dance my ass out . But that's way gone now. I can easily hear what they say with my cheap ear piece and still come back having a 5. The only trick is consistency and persistency. You will want to get tired, a time will come that you will wail and log out of Qa. After working on a call for hours and you were rated 2, which is $0. Here comes the re-do courtesy but to no avail, you got a 2 again... Don't worry, just keep doing it and you will see a result. The goal is not to hear what they are saying but to enjoy their conversations. Laugh and smile on a call and you will find it easier to finish a call in a very short time...Cheers. |

brijibs:When you do HLC calls, you'll do more of crying than laughing. Menh!! Poverty dy everywhere I swear to God. I was on a call that I almost cried for the woman. Her daughter had an operation, she lost her 8 months pregnancy as she was climbing up and down the hospital stairs. Her husband left her because he was unable to provide for the family. That call touched my bone marrow as she was just crying all through the call ![]() |

Estringx:Exactly. Persistency and consistency really helps on Qa world. I was on a call yesterday, a 12 minutes call, and along the line I nearly dropped the call because there was a lot of inaudible in it. But I said let me just continue to the end. So, after going through the whole call, when I went back to those inaudible, I found out that some of the words is actually what I've already transcribed in other parts of the call. I finished the call with no [...] and got a 5 rating. Anyway, I released about 4 P Fuster call on Saturday because the customers were black Americans. I wasn't hearing that their own version of English and there was no auto generated transcript for them at all. The auto transcript for the reps were so clear but there was none for the customers ( black American callers) |

Mekanus:Funnily enough, I do prefer black American calls. Their voices are mostly deep, which make the conversation clearer for me. Plus, I'm used to watching their movies. I guess that also helps. |

Opiletool:You would have dropped this ones I'm talking about. I enjoy some of their calls but these ones was too bad and they spoke really fast. |
| Re: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by Opiletool(m): 11:32am On Dec 02, 2019 |
Mekanus:Probably. Especially if the speakers are uneducated or semi educated. I released one HCL call when the customer started cursing. Funny thing be sey, the mumu dey apologise after every curse. I con dey ask, why him dey curse when him know sey him go still apologise. |

I noticed that the issue of seeing 404 not authorised doesn't always translate to meaning the call has been picked by someone else. Several times, I end up picking the same call that wasn't authorised after refreshing the page. |
